I make no claim to be ITK but I received a text this morning from someone that I know is not a wind up merchant and doesn't even frequent forums such as these.

I've no idea where he got this from but he reckons they will be announced either today or tomorrow.

It maybe that some one is winding him up but I think that would be a great combination.

Trouble is, I can't see Warnock coming back to us and why would McCall come back as his understudy.

Anyway, for what it's worth there it is.

Don't shoot the messenger...

Are you sure its not the title of a crappy new procedural cop show on ITV?

They would surely not be deciding yet ?? Can't see them looking at it until we know what division we are in even though us fans know.

Warnock in an "up-stairs" role maybe but why would Macca leave Motherwell with 4 games left and the chance of securing 2nd place and Europa League football...to come to manage our shower of shit for 3 or (extremely unlikeley) 4 games and then be stuck in L1 next year....?

Load of bollocks I'm afraid.

I would not be averse to such a scenario at all, but with greatest respect to yourself BOS, I think there is more chance of Gary Megson and Sean Bean having a civil partnership than that happening.

Maybe with Warnock in a DOF role?

It would have to be wouldn't it, because McCall isn't going to suddenly want to become an assistant after having a bit of success on his own. But the problem with that is, that Warnock's signings are generally dreadful. And if that's not what he's in charge of, what exactly will he be doing?

I would imagine it would be something along the lines of getting all the SUC sides playing the same system. Doing scouting etc. being a go between between the Chairman & Manager.
However i cant see it happening.
Warnocks ego would get in the way and he would try meddling in 1st team tactics & team selection

The manger identifies what type of player he wants, scouts find them then Director of Football negotiates
Warnock has a good role model to copy - Dooley

Warnock had pretty much zero cash to spend for the majority of his time here (last two seasons apart) and many of the free or cheap signings he did make turned out to be excellent accuisitions: Brown, McCall, Morgan, Kabba, Kenny, Pesky, Ndlovu to name a few. Like any manager he signed some hum dingers, but to suggest his signings are generally dreadful is somewhat wide of the mark.
I'm not campaigning to have him as our next manager in the slightest but with no money there's fewer better proven managers out there.
