Its crazy but I can see us putting a few games together now.

I just hope it doesn't kid the board that Morgan is the man long term IF he gets us up. We need a proper professional search and if Morgs is the best man then fair enough but lets not get carried away with a few results.

This stinks of being an absolute complete mess.

Absolutely.

If the upcoming Fan's Forum has influenced McCabe's thinking in any way whatsoever then this is totally unforgivable. That would be right up there with sacking a manager to placate some fake investors.

Can't help but feel sorry for him. Last season would've been a memorable one if a court case hadn't gone against us and it was always going to be difficult to cope with the loss of Evans, Lowton, Williamson, and Quinn this time round.

Fascinated to find out what has driven him to resign (assuming he has). Takes a lot to step away from an ongoing promotion battle and a pay off. Would love to think the players will struggle to sleep tonight but they won't.

Thanks Danny.

(obviously the above might be the most irrelevant post ever if he's still there!)

I think Wilson got lucky last season that he had a striker on fire.

Straight into production eh? I like how he rolls.

I suspect it'll be more down to the season ticket renewals than the Fans Forum - no doubt given home performances this season they are significantly below what McCabe was expecting.

I feel sorry for Wilson. He seems a nice guy, was a penalty away last season from success (not to mention close to automatic before Evans disappeared), and has had key parts of the squad dismantled. I wanted to see him given the chance to turn it around till the summer. To remove him, when mathematically it's in our hands still, smacks of everything that's been wrong in this ridiculous season of managerial changes.

However, some of his decisions have been poor. One of the first decisions he made was to have Doyle as his captain, which I thought at the time was a surprise (either an established player at the club like Monty, or someone new that was his man, would have made more sense), and then some of his signings this year, have been poor. His decisions recently not to do the blatantly obvious have been frustrating. And that first half at Walsall on Saturday was inexplicably awful.

Will Morgs, in his back room team, do differently? Maybe. I can't imagine that given a possible list of people for a new coaching staff that Wilson would have picked Morgan - he inherited him, representing some consistency with the club, while also being the 'nice thing to do' for a guy that had been with us years and was nearing retirement. He is a complete stab in the dark - but it might just be that a kick up the arse (which he will no doubt have at the forefront of his managerial style) is what's needed in these remaining games.

In general though, I've very little faith in McCabe's ability to choose the right person for the job. He's only really only done that once in the years he's been chairman.

I like his style though.

When Chuck Norris deploys live code to servers, He does it on a friday afternoon at 5PM. If it fails , then it was the servers fault, not the code.

Every Friday lunchtime a TD sends an email to remind the engineers they need to watch the build cycle if they've checked in code to make sure the build is green. If it's red and they're not here... trouble.

That's patently not true. I never sent such an email. You take that back.

I'm currently top of the charts when it comes to breaking the build. But i'm the project manager so a) My code is expected to be shit and b) Do as i say, not as i do :D

Have to say our Sheffield Clubs pick their moments to change/ sack managers. Dooley received the present of the sack one X'mas eve. Our Chairman operates the prime numbers system 3 games in for Blackie and five games left for Wilson May be he believes that since 5+3 = 8 which some believe to be a lucky number it will do the trick.
As for me I wrote off this season some time ago. Morgs did so well for us as a player but surely, as a coach he should be seen as part of the current problem, as should our dear chair person.

I don't feel sorry at all for Wilson. He has had his chances to change how the team plays, get the team motivated etc but hasn't. Saying he hasn't done much wrong this season is just a "rose tinted" comment which goes a long way to explain the situation we are in. If more people could see the wood from the trees i.e McCabe, Wilson, players and clappers, maybe this season could of been saved. We've had a perfect opportunity to get a Warnock in for the rest of the season but KM has gone for Morgan, so another opportunity missed. Typical united

Also, saying that Wilson is a better manger that Warnock. Come off it. You know it's not true so why sa it.

Finally, (tongue in cheek but it does slightly annoy me) is that people should be banned from suggesting ex players / current players as the next manager. Neville or Owen (really???)

I will reserve judgment on this move, but would make 3 points:

1. Whilst Wilson is at fault for our grinding to a halt, there are other parties more to blame in my opinion:

(a) the players, some of whom should be ashamed of their recent performances.

(b) McCabe, of course

2. This looks like yet another panem et circenses move from McCabe. They don't usually work.

3. Putting a rookie manager in this situation seems like a very foolhardy thing to do.
