Rochdale 2-5 Sheffield United

I don't think anyone who went there that night expected anything other than goals and a win. The belief that night was 100% that we were going to win and you could feel it in the crowd and see it in the team. We conceded after a couple of minutes but it made no difference.

Although Ched's case had just started, no-one expected what happened 10 days later and you can't help think that despite the issues with managers and chairmen, as with other events out of our control that have shaped the club's destiny in the last few years, it's a thin line between being a Norwich, Southampton and Swansea or.....a Sheffield United.

Didn't someone once wibble on about "winds of change blowing through football.......but because we are so well managed we won't end up like Norwich, Charlton or Southampton"?

Quite possibly, and the same person said going down could be a blessing in disguise

As above, court cases aside, who knows where we could have been this season.

That was the same day some fucking stupid steward refused me admittance to the ground with a very tasty plastic tray full of delicious Chinese cuisine

It should have been a blessing in disguise. It was the prime opportunity to break the disastrous short term cycle we'd managed to get ourselves into. This season was too but we've again looked no further than the end of the season and it's going to cost us once more.

I was there that day. When McDonald a) hits a shot from distance and b)hits it very well, you know you're onto a winner. The first day of Evans' trial was the following day wasn't it?

It was either that day or the day after and I mentioned that night how relaxed he looked and it certainly didn't affect his game. His last goal was the following Saturday.

You ate the tray as well????

We saw the lights of the ground and parked the car, asked a bemused local for directions to the ground and thought that he seemed a bit dim. I t explained it when we finally having made it to the ground having walked miles!
Missed the first two goals, but what a fantastic night, the Rochdale fans played their part in a superb atmosphere and the Blades looked unstoppable. If Danny goes, Thank you for last season it was great until the last 3 weeks, crying shame it was not sustainable this season which has degenerated to Blackwell levels of entertainment.

That was one of my favorite away days. What a great match, atmosphere and result. Right now I have no idea when we might get to experience a night like that again.

Am I right it was only a week or two after we spanked Notts County by the same scoreline? Great couple of weeks them.
