Feel very low after last night's result. Performance well short of required standards but better than most recent home games (which is frightening).

However, I've felt much lower about United in the last 12 months and we're very likely to finish in the play-off places giving us a 2nd chance. I know our play-off record is shocking but we go in there with a chance and with a defence well capable of keeping clean sheets and......who knows. Maybe we can ride our luck over 3 games, sneak a goal or two from a set piece and finally have our day in the sunshine.

Please...................................please.

I don't think we're going to win another game this season.

Nurse! The screens!

Win a game? I don't think we are capable of scoring another goal this season! Seriously, it's the worst Blades team for years and we've barely seen a decent home performance all season.

I usually try and stay hopeful to the end but the evidence is overwhelming.

Two goals in 6 games is unlikely to change.

Any team that closes us down quickly has a very good chance of success.

Two out of every 3 clubs visiting the Lane goes away with points.

Wilson's post match comments say there is no point in several changes.

I'm on the floor after last night and I can't see the side recovering

I would normally be siding with Coops on this but unfortunately, you can't just turn on form and confidence and unfortunately, we're sadly lacking in both. The only positive is that the likes of Swindon, Tranmere and Brentford seem to be as bad as us at the moment although I still think someone like MK Dons could crash the party and win the play-offs.

It would be typical of us to go into the play-offs in appalling form and finally win one and our only hope seems to be keeping clean sheets and hoping but as we saw last season, even that didn't work.

No it wouldn't. It would be typical of us to lose in the final without scoring.

I'm clutching at straws I know.

One thing we've seen a couple of times before though (Stevenage, Preston) is that teams sometimes play without fear when going for a play-off place and then tie up horribly when they actually make it. Wouldn't be an enormous surprise if that happened to Yeovil.

Could also see Doncaster being in there feeling, as we did last year, that they'd blown an enormous chance.

Put those two in with an out of form Swindon and us and it starts to look like a complete lottery.

Final point, surely the Footballing Gods would love us to finally win at Wembley in front of far and away the smallest following we'll ever have taken there.

Is anyone starting to believe this yet?

No.

We are not the worst team in the country. We are not the unluckiest team in the country. But I would submit we are the worst at actually taking chances to improve ourselves. We do not win playoff tournaments. We will not win this one.

And in two years' time, we are going to lose the League 2 playoff final. Book it.

I think people have been too busy dancing on the grave of Maggie so they have missed the death of SUFC

We should all boycott the play offs
It's the fans fault anyway so if we are not there we cannot put so much pressure on the poor lambs and they may even score a goal.
Hopefully it will be in the opposition net.

I am NOT going to another fecking Play Off Final.
I suggest everyone else follows suit and makes a statement of protest against the abject failure of past performances, the annual Wembley rip off and the utter shit served up this season under the pretence of football.

The earliest we can fail to get automatic promotion is Tues April 16 and that would require two defeats against Swindon and Brentford - fairly easy for this squad I would think.

It's not quite exact this but it's almost certain that even going into the last game and after losing 4 games we could still get a play off place on the last day !

I'm afraid we will be hanging onto hope right up to the last minute whether we like it or not. And even with our recent catastrophic results we will probably end up in the playoffs.

PS I am still extremely pissed off with everything SUFC yet I find myself looking up stats and typing into a keyboard.

What the fuck is wrong with me ?

Feel the same, doing the same, asking myself the same question.

Yet again DW looks set to fail.
Last year he failed big time. With the players at his disposal the title should have been ours easily.
This year is the same. I said months ago that I felt that anything but first was a failure. Now I cant see us making the playoffs even.
Time for Mccabe to grow a pair and remove Danny from the managers seat.
Who to bring in?
My choice would be Pembo or the guy from Crewe if we could afford him. Appletons available and highly rated as well. I would even say I would prefer Warnock back to DW staying.

Already with you: http://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/dates-for-your- diary.29760/

We'd have to score at least one goal to get to the final though so I'm not cancelling any plans for May 19th.

Just goin past Wembley on the train

.............: shudder

Personally I would not be against a management team of Pemberton and Morgan with a view to playing our youngsters

Don't want to pee on your chips JC but I'm based in Milton Keynes and work commitments mean that often the only football I can see live is at Stadium MK.

Both Brentford and Swindon were recent visitors and whilst both lost to MK both looked better sides than the home team and were unfortunate. Swindon in particular were pinging the ball about at a very high tempo last night and on the form shown could well win at BDTBL.

You would have to kidnap McCabe for around 2 years to stop him selling the youngsters they DID bring on !

Fair enough, it was only looking from afar or scoreboard journalism as someone once said :)

And thats the worst thing about it. Its not over yet. There is still the glimmer of hope that we scrape a 1-0 on Saturday. That Bournemouth slip up against Shrewsbury. That, confidence renewed we go and beat Brentford. that all of a sudden we look like we could do it again, only so we can be let down again. And then repeat the cycle in the Play offs...

...its the hope that kills you...

No, no, no, no, no. Do we never learn. You sack a manager you want to either put a caretaker in charge until the RIGHT person comes into view (write this season off if you have to), or you are already talking to the RIGHT person. None of those mentioned above are that person.

I can understand the angst about wanting Wilson out, he's an average manager but I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that McCabe could select the right man. If Brian Clough & Peter Taylor came back from the dead and said they wanted the job McCabe would put someone else in.

Can someone explain why they are advocating Morgs to take over ? Is he not part of the current coaching staff ? Is he not sat in the stands 'advising' during games ?

OK, it's a different ball game going from being No.2 or 3 to taking charge and making decisions and doubtless he's more of 'a blade' but does anyone really think he's the answer at the moment ?

I was surprised last night that the kids who were introduced at half time were not in a glass display case with a price tag hung around their necks.

Half expected an auction.

Lord no.
