Why will we have a stable budget next season? Have I missed something?

In the sense that the playing budget for 2013/14 is expected to be similar to 2012/2013.

For the last few seasons we've had a significant saving to find each summer. Squad building has been dictated by whether we can ditch big earners, rather than by our own need to plan properly. Granted we'll probably continue to sell, but at least we'll have greater control of the situation.

Whoever manages us next year should have calmer waters to navigate.

I would guess this will not be the case if we lose a number of season ticket holders, which we are certain to do if we do not go up.

Plus, McCabe.

I don't see what changes. Gates and income will be down, thus expenditure has to follow. And no matter how many high earners you remove, they simply end up being replaced at the top of the list with others. The actual £££'s may be lower (Collins will be on less that say Quinny was) but will now be more ouchy as a result of the drop in revenue.

The song for whoever in charge will be the same one - here's less money, get rid of the high earners and replace them with lower ones. Oh, and win the league whilst you're at it.

No formation can account for the idiocy of Forte and Robson for their first goal. I'm not worried about the manager or the formation we play.

A sure sign that you aren't a local and haven't seen much of us this year? You should be worried about the way we play, believe me.

I would agree with this. There is too much stuff going on at the moment by choice that plays into the opposition's hands: the decision to waste time rather than press for a goal when we have a narrow lead (remember Oldham home) and the constant pausing and slowing down when we are attacking are two examples.

It's all a based somewhat on speculation, but personally I'd much rather be SUFC manager this summer than last, or the one before.

It's still a shit sandwich, but there's a scraping of Nutella this time.

Well, now Phil Brown is out of the running, crack on, but you're still behind Bergen I reckon...

Is it just me or was Porter hitting it wide and it only went in off the defender? It's difficult to tell from this.

What a miss that would have been.

Definitely just you mate :)

Who hits that 40 yard cross field pass to kmac? Excellent ball.

That was Collins. Absolute peach of a pass.

I have seen us play and we have been woeful. Please don't use lazy stereotyping to make an argument. Oh and I was born in Jessops so does that makes me local enough for you? You don't need to fear however I am going to re-localise myself in the coming months so perhaps I might get my football brain back being nearer the lane.

What staggers me is that apparently you have to be there home and away to know we are a barrel of shite. Walk out of one home game and most supporters are quick to tell you "its been like that all season". You can watch us once and see what the problems are. Average manager managing average players. And as soon as we get a good un he gets sold.

Wilson has done what any half decent manager would do knowing he is playing with a busted flush. Made us hard to beat by building a good back 4. The rest of it (the wonderboy Kmac included) may flicker to life once in a while but in the main they are third tier players in a third tier team.

Do you know a manager who would choose to lose his leading scorer and having no option to replace him with more third tier bilge?

Oh and if I read "Jonathan Forte misses the target" once more in a BBC sport message I think I win a prize.

Calm down fella - I'm not questioning you in any other way than if you've seen us play many times this season - because if you have I doubt you'd be happy with the style of play or how we set up.

I agree with all the rest of your points - relax....:)

They've lost one here. Regardless of what league we're playing in.

Fair enough Alco. Just get fed up the attitude of some who say if you don't go home and away you can't know whats going on.

I know what you mean fella - but words can't describe my boredom with it at the moment - I have to witness it...:)

Out of interest, where do you live now, any where are you coming back to?

Currently Dunfermline and coming back to become one of the West Yorkshire bretheren in July. Don't know exactly where at the moment but Honley/Holme Firth area appears high on the Mrs' want list right now.

The way we played in the last 30 minutes,i could see who Ironside would have come on for. The only possibility was Forte but he improved as the 2nd half went on and was forcing the defence back with his pace(probably because he was playing down the middle with a strike partner). Ironside is more of a back to goal on the turn striker.

Bringing Ironside on would have lost us that pace down the middle the and Walsall defence would have been able to squeeze us forward as we wouldn't have got behind them

Take your point BM. Fortes got to play down the middle with a strike partner whether it be Porter, Ironside or Kitson.

Agreed - but it's difficult to believe a more attacking approach at home would have resulted in fewer points. As it is, I'm already dreading next season if Wilson's still in charge.

UTB

To be honest I agree and think we'd have more points at home with a more attacking approach against certain teams, we just seem incapable of sensing when a side is pooing its pants and going all out for them.

If we shoot ourselves in the foot again same as last season I dont think DW will be here anyway. I know a guy currently unemployed that just happens to be a Blade..............................................
