could we be after a double deal from villa cameron archer and keinan davis 🤔
I don't know much about Keenan but it's significant that Archer was successful last season when playing off a big athletic unit called Akpom.
If we get Archer but don't have such a partner for him , it's likely he won't be so effective (and that's in addition to whether he can take the step up to PL).
I agree that there's a chance of more profit in future by signing Archer , but can we afford another Brewster style gamble to go wrong ?
I'm sure this is why Hecky preferred Akpom - the question is : do you want to survive in the PL but make no future profit on an older player .... Or , do you want to risk your PL place by gambling on a younger model ?
I'm very much hoping that we have lined up a couple of other strikers for the first eleven , either both on PL loan/free/foreign loan or one fee & one loan.
There is some logic to us avoiding paying a fee for a striker because we have 3 great prospects in Osula , Jebbo & Traore (for winning the Championship next season). Plus miracles might happen and Brewster comes to life and McBurnie transforms himself.
But our only prospect at LMF is Brooks , so I'd like us to get a LMF on a permanent contract.
I really don't want another RMF coz we already have Hamer , Souza , Coulibaly & Slimane.
You might think I've missed a few out but in my mind , thinking of next summer , I've already waved goodbye to Fleck , Osborn & Norwood , who should be released at the end of their contracts even if we're in the Championship
We move so fucking slowly.

Fucking hurry up united you fannies
Memories of the panicky clamour to sign Brewster for what subsequently transpired to be ridiculous money (even without all the injuries) - money which put such a big hole in our finances that we ended up in a transfer embargo.

Akpom played deeper with Archer playing further up. If anything, Akpom played off Archer.
The two together were a great combo. We will need someone close to Archer, he won't be able to do it all by himself in the PL.

We are working hard on this one today. And we are working hard for it to not include a buyback. Wouldn't be surprised if we make a breakthrough this evening/early tomorrow. Tommy Doyle close too. Both should be buys not loans if we can get the fee right on this one.
Tbh , if a reasonable buyback (giving us a decent profit on success) will reduce the initial fee to something we can afford to risk on a young player (unproven in the Pl , just like Brewster) , then I don't see the problem with it.

I can't keep up with who's called what correctly as an ITK anymore, though I do remember the high profile Ndiaye error so pretty sceptical (though appreciative) on your info since..
However, if you're right, I'm very curious as to our plan.

Doyle isn't a creative midfielder and has never performed to a high level anywhere other than centrally.
We've also all seen Souza's stats, they're as defensive as you can possibly imagine and he doesn't seem to have progressive passes in his locker.
Hamer, is an all rounder. He has goal contributions in his locker but he certainly isn't what you'd describe as an out and out attacking midfielder.
So what's the balance?
Are we going to play with a double-pivot?

To me, the biggest issue facing this side is goals.
Hamer addresses the gap that Berge's left.
Archer would upgrade the CF area.
But nobody has replaced Ndiaye and McAtee. Tillman or Akpom would have gone some way to resolving that issue, Cole Palmer could still come in (though it looks unlikely now). Where are we going to find our mobile, line-breaking AMs?

If we have money, I really think those resources should be ploughed into that area rather than another deeper midfielder.
We need a Lfooted creative progressive MF of the McAtee ilk.

But if we could get Archer and Doyle as permanents then we could use our loans for a LWB and an attacking midfield player
I doubt we have the cash for more than one fee for a signing who will go straight into starting eleven

Only key difference is Brewster suffered nasty injury after championship loan and going away with england youth team. I swear to this day Liverpool knew he would never be the same player again.

So as long as Archer doesn't fall down the stairs between now and signing, I think we'll be getting better value
Of course they did - we were mugged big style

You are thinking like me mate and I am looking for a lift to like most Blades fans .Never known a club to get in the prem and have so much gloom around the place . A good left wing back would give me a boost ,it is obvious we are very weak in that area ,we need RND back sooner rather than later or one on loan .
I agree with you but Hecky signing a LWB is Hecky admitting he's fucked up with Larouci so that ain't happening
