As someone who has been moved to realise the damage McCabe is doing to the club, it becomes clearer that some are prepared to dine on whatever tripe (shite) McCabe will feed them.

I hope it tastes nice Broomers - but don't be fooled such blind faith is doing any of us any favours.

It's happend before, albeit before i was born, thank god! Some of my older mates still say the 4th division days were the best. Keith Edwards, Colin Morris, Darlington last day of the season. Tbh, i'm a bit jealous of that generation. Sounded like everyone had a great time. I'm sure not everyone enjoyed it though. A few years before we ended up down in the basement of the football league we were nearly getting a place in Europe. That's just madness. I don't think we'll do a Bradford. I know it's not what i or anyone else wants, but i think we'll at least get a playoff spot this season.

I am looking beyond this season IF we fail to get promoted then I wouldn't necessarily rule out the risk of dropping out of this league. The downside for us is most clubs that fall down the leagues usually go into admin clear their debts and literally start a fresh but that is something we cannot do with McCabe in charge. Our situation is completely different off the field to any other larger club that's taken a tumble.

Blackman was the best of a bad bunch but nothing special. He may be one day but he isn't now (although he does take a good penalty that might have made a difference come the play-off final in May). To make £1M profit in 6 months is good business.

Sigh.

If we sold the lot, including the foundations, we'd probably do good business. In fact, let's build a business park on top - even better business.

"Good business" - where does it end?

UTB

Cause its not. That's Readings idea. But, if we can get in a decent winger and a striker for the same cost then I bet DW would be more than happy. Blackman is a luxury in this league.

Aye, who want 14 goals by Christmas when you can take on 2 trialists?

:(

If we do fail to go up this season Harry will be off, no doubt about it. Maybe even George Long. We might be able to cling onto Shaun Miller what with him being injured, but no guarentees we'll ever get to see the very best of him now after such an injury. Things won't look good. So dropping yet another division is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Your right about McCabe, the situation with him is very different. He'll never give up United whilst we have so much land to play with. Bramall Lane is his sole concern, not Sheff United.

From the looks of it the deal has been done. If we've any sense, the hold up in announcing it is down to us tying up deals using the cash. Big if mind....

Alco - Come back on Thursday if we have no replacement. Then I'll be fucked off

I'll be fucked off anyway. Because what if we do have a replacement? Either;

He'll be wank in which case it's bad business
He'll be good, in which case we'll sell him.

Our statement of intent is clear, sadly.

Just like Evans' 3 replacements Blackman, Miller and Kitson were all wank.

Aye, it looks that way. Just checked Sky Sports News and a fee has been agreed. A four and half year deal an all, not bad, for him i mean. We need to move fast if we're going to get a good enough replacement. Any ideas anyone who we could bring in?

The problem isn't that they were / are wank, it's that they were all worse than their predecessor, as Blackman's replacement will no doubt be, which means the quality of our team is ever diminishing.

We never replace with better, just more and cheaper.

Aye, the improvement this year is clear for all to see Matt. In fact let's keep up the winning formula of the last 5 years or so.

Alco, I'm worried about you old chap. Pour yourself a nice single malt, put your feet up in front of the fire and stick a Die Hard DVD on. Anything but football. :)

I just wish we could wait until the transfer window closes, then take stock and see where we are, instead of continually rubbishing the club and its management with pure speculation. If by then McCabe and Co have sold us down the Swanee, then, fair enough, have a go. Until then, why do a few posters keep chipping away at the fabric of this club with their negative - and often untrue - comments. This club has become a laughing stock, thanks to some of its fans.

So am I fella. I haven't been this disappointed in us in years. I suppose everyone has a cliff. They've just pushed me over mine.

Expect a crescendo of pissed off posts from me over the next few weeks, then an attempt to pull away from the forum to stop me becoming a Mic. I don't like the new me either.

Presty doing a sketch of KM doing a lap of honour round BDTBL holding the accounts aloft.

I'll have one.

Take a look at my history Broomers. I have defended just about every sale we've made up to and including Beattie. I don't perpetually knock the club.

But do you really think our attempt to sell Blackman is a move constructed by us improve on the side? If so, why does McCabe "hope he stays". Why does Wilson keeps saying "I don't know anything"?

Do you really believe in selling our best player, we'll snap up someone elses? Or another Harper who was once good, will fool us for a few weeks, then add to the continual side we're in as a club.

Is there no point you'll stop and say, "what the fuck's happening here"?

Years and years of sales were supposed to be about plugging a black hole. FFP is supposed to be about stability. I've backed and backed. But after this, selling our top striker, just weeks after losing our other, in January - it's just bollocks.

What do you mean by our 'attempt' to sell Blackman? We rejected the initial offer, and a second bid came in at 1.2mill. That's silly money for Blackman, any club would be stupid not to sell him for that. There is no way he is our 'best' player, people are only saying this now as another layer of argument when slagging the club off. I'd be more frustrated if the club sold any of: Maguire. McDonald, Miller or Long.

We didn't sell last season in January at all, and it didn't work unfortunately. I think 1.2 is brilliant money from Blackman, and we can easily get two or three decent players for that money. I think it's good business from hte club personally, assuming we do actually replace him! That's why we need to get him sold ASAP and start getting more players in before we really are left up the creek without a paddle.

I am licking my wounds, as it seems Blackman has been sold. Not sure the club had much choice in the matter, just economics, when you are a tadpole in the pond of football.

He was one of our better players and his departure can not be viewed as good news at all.

I am going to reserve judgement until news of our promised two new signings is known. I may have to temper my view that automatic promotion is possible come the end of the week.

A bit fed up. :(

I mean we're attempting to sell him, I don't know how that can be clearer.

I can trust the judgment of a few on here, or the experts from higher league clubs at Sunderland, Reading or Palace.

At least we're all safe in the knowledge that the rest of the team is full of pace, athleticism and goals. Well, Miller was anyway.....

[quote="..... This club has become a laughing stock, thanks to some of its fans.[/quote]

No this club has become a laughing stock due to a combination of poor managers and bad footballing decisions by its largest shareholder.

I am getting a bit sick of hearing how £1.2m is "good business". We lose a young player not a world beater granted but one of our better players. The players we are looking at/linked with, 2 young kids on trial and a 34 yr old don't exactly fill me with confidence that Wilson will get more than a small fraction of the £1.2m to replace our top scorer with.
If the usual senario plays out I can see where a lot of fans will reach the tipping point and lose interest, we have been worse than this in our history but we always had hope and the knowledge that as a club we were striving to be better but at the moment I for one don't see this at all ............................................... we as a club are dead in the water. NO and I don't see anything improving in the near future or should I say under the present ownership the club badly needs a big change in outlook and culture.

Measured thoughts metal, almost worth a "like".

If they do lose interest, will they continue to post on here fucking moaning all the time?
