He's not gonna turn down a club challenging for promotion to the prem plus a salary increase, who would?. Just hope it's a decent figure we have accepted and is invested properly in the team. Which I doubt!
Well he is a greedy twat then who couldnt give a toss about sufc or promotion. fuck him.

Are you one of his boo boys? ;) Go on son, stick your hand up and say it proudly like the other muppets :)

Or are you one of those who don't like him from hearing his performances on the radio.....
On t radio?
Lets just say I wish it was on the radio. I want my money back tbh.....

Previous sales have been more understandable, because of the wage bill being so large. Given that we're now under the 65% turnover rule, it seems this is just a cashing in thing. So all of a sudden. the huge debt that McCabe's run up has taken on an extra significance. No longer are sales about getting the club on to an even footing, it seems it's now about clawing back lost money for McCabe. That could mean years and years in the wilderness.

I could say I told you so :( but i'll wait till February if need be

One of the best things about football for those who want to say I told you so is that if you keep predicting the worst, you'll get your chance.

Well with the track record of SUFC I can only see a much inferior replacement, the signings of Higginbottom and Murphy were just to good to be true.
Like a Nigerian multi-million investment if it looks too good to be true it is 99% certain to be a scam. :(:(:(

My feelings are clear. I was not keen on Blackman in the early days. Thought he was billy big time in his attitude when he had basically never even been small time (how many clubs and pretty rubbish ones all over the UK on loan without properly establishinh himself). However, daft as it sounds he grew on me. He showed real confidence, scored goals and took responsibility (some say greedy but he often in games was the only one shooting or creating).

He has real ability and can use both feet. He also did not sulk when played wide and actually got even better. He has slipped recently but so has the rest of the team.

For me he has been our player of the season (not saying much) and one of the few capable of playing higher up.Like when quinny went and many said good riddance; he would be sorely missed (at least in terms of where we are at the moment - shows how poor we have fallen that he would be such a loss). To me selling him would be as good as saying we aint going up. We may aswell flog Maguire/Long and go the whole hog as we will bobble along around 8th -12th and then watch us further decline until eventually we fall into the abyss of the bottom tier.

United always have and always will accept the fast buck. 500K for Blackman (wont be much more) now will have them giddy. Never mind if we keep him for a few months we might (say might as demise has set in) get promotion and make that money overnight in a few months. The mismanagment of the club is frightening and it goes beyond this one potential sale. This is happening every window/every year. The club basically may aswell put up the shutters if it continue to act so timidly. Some may say without sales we would not survice but come on the way we are going we may not survive in 10-15 years with the current decline anyway?

There is no forward thinking and the club gets what it deserves. It amuses me he how us the fans are blamed at times on message boards (not necessairly this one) and its all our fault as we dare to stamp and moan. You know what we should be stamping and moaning. We have paid a fortune to watch this club and all we get is let down. Many who have had enough will just stop going (if this season as I expect peters out) but some like me wont stop going. We keep going in the hope that it may turn around and you go as you are a fan. It is getting to the point where we are being trated like utter mugs. I am amazed over the last few years that McCabe has got way without so much as a peep from fans at games (not advocting such a protest but surely we have to vent some kind ofall anger at his reign which is turning from a car wreck into utter destruction of the football club).

By the way whether Blackman goes or not; we know that someone will go in the next week so it matters little. This club seems like it will never change. A shame. Its got great fans who are very patient in my opinion but all they get is let downs.
I spoke to a workmate today who has been of the opinion for a long time that league 2 beckons, at the end of the next 2 years or so. And the club is treating us like mugs and is sorely mismanaged.

I know he hasn't gone yet, but if he does, to all those saying "it will be alright if we can replace him with someone better" I actually struggle to recall one instance in the past, say, five years or so where an outgoing player's replacement has been an improvement.

Blackman was worse than Evans (or Quinn and Williamson if we class him as a wide midfielder) and will be replaced by someone worse than him.

That is why we are where we are. Each replacement is worse than the last meaning the team and squad are ever diminishing in quality.

I'm afraid we're shit and only getting shitter, and I hate it.

Should we be sponsored by Armitage Shanks?:)

This is one we agree on Kempy.
There is only us who would part with their leading scorer at this stage of the season and still in with a real shout of promotion.
There is far more pluses to Blackmans game than faults.
Hes been played out of position on the wing i personally beleive he was more potent as an out and out frontman and i reckon if Wilson like many on here have said would have brought a half decent winger/provider in his tally would have been greater.

To make a mistake once is human, to make it twice is stupid.

Beattie - play off final season Jan 2010
Blackman - Jan 2013 dohh

No wonder we're such a laughinbg stock.

biggest club in the division.
best squad in the division.
ambitious club.

mccabe's spin doctors must be on more money than our entire first team!

i wonder if getting rid of blackman, porter and philliskirk will enable us to get that gallagher back on loan?? or will we still be up to the whatever the hell it is 60% salary cap under a different name gubbins?

maguire should be packing all his things away into boxes, only 5 days left til we sell him. we always sell someone 5 seconds before the window closes, and weve got bugger all else anybody would want!

anybody really care anymore? i think next season i may take up golf or summat. ive had enough of this bollocks. funny thing is, theres still people out there who think were one of the favourites for promotion! you couldnt make it up!

I certainly think selling Blackman would be a mistake, but don't agree that getting rid of Beattie was a mistake. Our form improved once he'd gone and the team spirit seemed much better. That is, of course, until they pitched up at Wembley and choked like the Queen Mum on fish day.

Spot on Ken. Maybe we can get Chris Lucketti back to replace Harry? He's in Danny's age bracket of preferred signings!!;)

On the assumption this has happened (and let's face it, it will have done) let's play predict the clapper rationalisation. My predictions:

1. "Everyone is a selling club. Man U sold Ronaldo"

2. "Never rated him"

3. "Can't keep them here if they want to go"

4. "all of his goals were penalties anyway".

Great stuff Revolution.

Will be really interested to hear Foxy and Snorehamview's comments on this one.

Here you go then, Eeyore. I'm glad you're interested in hearing my reply. I would have been on earlier, but frankly, a cowboy film seemed the better option.

1. Yes, we are a selling club. Yes, Man Utd sold Ronaldo.

2. I do rate him, but he can be a bit selfish, although that's not always a bad thing in a forward when playing as a winger it isn't the best trait to have.

3. If they put in a transfer request you can either accept it or tell the interested club to go away. If the player says he wants to go then what do you do?

4. Penalties. He brings far more to the table than just penalties, but I believe he could do more. We've seen flashes of what he can do, but his consistency needs improving.

So, you are asking what I think of the chances of him going. Well, I think it's shit to be honest with you. Another player going for thruppence ha'penny and a bag of Toffos. Bet you didn't expect that, did you? I wonder what you did think I'd say?

We don't have many carrots we can dangle in front of players to persuade them to stay though. And if they want to go then why not let them? It's letting them go for next to fuck all that annoys me most. Yes, I'd rather he stayed, but if we do sell him, and there's no reason I can think of other than the club wants rid then at least screw the buyers for every last penny.

Happy Mic? I'm not cheering his departure. I'd rather he stayed, and perhaps get the chance to use his left foot on the left wing now and again. I rarely like to see a player go, unless it's to replace him with a better player. But I'm not the one in charge of transfers. My reply to Palace would be that we'll gladly let you have Blackman, and it will cost you two thirds of the wedge you got for Zaha, and if you get lippy then the price will only go up.

If we're going to sell then at least we should be whacking the price up. But do I like us selling him? No.

Does that make me a clapper still? And when will people stop with this clapper nonsense?

What he said.

Will he be involved today??
Does anybody know if he's definitely going??

when everyone stops with the knocker nonsense!

What about that so-called legally binding document they've all signed to say they're employees of our club?

That's the stick, not the carrot. Carrot to entice them, stick to chastise them.

I agree with you on contracts, but how many players would settle for being told that as they'd signed a contract then they had to honour it? You'll read stuff like "You can't keep an unsettled player" but if you look at those paragons of virtue, Man City, and how they handled our old friend Mr. Tevez, you'll find that the player holds all the aces. Mancini stated that Tevez would never play for City again. That went well, didn't it?

I suppose we will find out from a tweet from PWalker mate. Crap really...
Cheers Russ. It does seem to be PW that let's us know these things first. The power of social networking eh!!

If he plays today, will he walk up to the fans applauding them?

Will he have a tear in his eye?

Or a glint

Or ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

;)

Well if that's the stick, sign me up for a right beating because I wouldn't mind a couple of grand a week!

theres one thing selling players to a big club, but were now a feeder club for the likes of crystal palace??

we know he wont be going for much money, first offer we get we pull our knickers down an get on all fours like a cheap hooker.

"if we sell, its how we replace them thats most important" well thats us fecked then. hows that replacement for quinn doing? or the one for williamson? or the one for every player weve sold/released for the last 5 years? its amazing anybody is confident we even will replace blackman. and if we do, that it wont either be some hopeless gimp on loan, or some over the hill grandad on a free transfer.

POST OF THE WEEK , PLAYERS COME AND GO
Blackman takes a tremendous penalty, other than that hes replaceable and a million plus offers us the scope to get in someone like Pope, or similar

weve got two chances of signing pope. no pope and bob pope! port vale are much more ambitious than we are. if anything, we'd be selling players to them. besides, he's ordinary at best. did nothing at rotherham, 3 or 4 goals in 2 years. he's one of those players that just clicks for one club. i believe he supported port vale as a kid, though i could be wrong. he's from that area anyway. he'd be a terrible signing for the money port vale would want. anyway, we have no money. any money we get from blackman would disappear into mccabe towers. so pointless conversation.
