I'm not sure this is a good career move for Illy the French league is nowhere near the quality of the Premier League. As it stands he is not proven at the top level, sure he will make lots of money at his boyhood club but will he improve much more as a player in a league with as many good teams you can count on your fingers.

He has given everything to this club and has been fantastic but I don't think his heart is in Sheffield United

Pretty sure he only signed that deal a couple of years ago and had made 1 sub appearance in the PL... so not sure on what grounds we would have given him 15k a week...

He had a good breakout season with MGW, then had an excellent season last... and whilst I don't think we should sign Akpom anyway, people are critical of him also having only had one standout season.

Still, we're doomed.

The whole fiasco over his last contract didn't help but its clear his agent has always seen this club as a stepping stone for him. I think we (as in the club) were convinced otherwise.

A player who is under contract to us for another year and could well be the difference between 1 year in the prem or 2 years in the prem . Another year in the prem that makes 13 mill look like small change and well worth letting him go nowt next year .

You can see it but unfortunately the clueless fools in charge are too blind to see this 13 million could end up costing us 100s of millions long term and go backwards and go backwards.

Ndiaye has been offered reportedly one of the best contracts ever drawn up by the Blades and he’s chosen his boyhood club over it.

What can we do, he wants to leave and will be doing next season on a free. Our hands are tied to the players whims.

The positive here is that if we’ve committed X amount of money to his improvEd contract PLUS generating a fee, it may help us bring in some more players.

No one can say better or worse though than Ndiaye, as this season was his chance to show he can go up another level. If he is leaving, he’s missing that chance to basically play at the club he loves.

How can there be any positive from this unless we somehow unearth some wonderkid that turns out to be the next Ndiaye?

The only thing that would soften the blow is the club going out and making a statement of intent by going and signing Alex Scott for example.

He has the potential to become a future England international and go for big money like Grealish.

But then again this is Sheffield United we don't do forward thinking.

Okay, that's fair.

Make him sign a contract before he plays (like the first contract), if he doesn't sign one he doesn't have a platform to get this move to Marseille (or any other club). Tell him no matter what his contract situation is, if we get a bid to the value of what we believe he's worth, we'll let him go. Then the rest is on him.

We look after you, you look after us. After all, nobody else gave him that shot after he was playing for Boreham Wood (he wasn't great for them, either btw).
