cofie reminded me very much of another potential man utd diamond named michael twiss, someone else who was going to be a world beater last i heard he was plying his trade with the mighty altringham.........

On the subject of potential world-beaters - what's happened to Mr.Slew?

There’s nothing I hate more than players with obvious talents not putting in the graft to realise it.

There were two stand out footballers in our school, there wasn’t much between them in terms of technical ability.

One of them was a complete tosser. Always messing about in lessons and swaggered about like he owned the place. He was an outstanding footballer but god did he know it. He was involved with a few of the local academies’ but never settled for long at any of them. I have no idea what he’s up to now.

The other lad was quite reserved and humble, bordering on shy. He worked his bollocks off whenever he played, he’d bust a gut just to win a game of crossbar but was never smug about it when he did. He spent his every spare second practising on the local fields with anybody willing to have a kick about. I remember a teacher once aggressively suggested he should spend less time ‘playing’ and more time on his homework and he broke into tears in front of the class. He’s now a millionaire England international and got a champions league winners medal.

For every professional footballer there are 1000 more just as talented who let it slip because they didn't put the miles in. I have no doubt Cofie will make a living from football, his pedigree alone will earn him a few contracts but there's a good footballer in there should he decide to pull his socks up and 'earn' the right to play.

.

Makes tea and draws stuff??:)

As most people on here would give anything to have had the opportunity Cofie has, to see him swagger around without putting anything more than the very minimum of effort into his game is frustrating to say the least.

Tony Currie anyone?

Has our leader had a bang on the head or had a visit from the 3 ghosts ?

Getting rid of crap, signing a player who wants to play for the Blades and more than that beating off another team for his signature !

If only there was a song to bring back the memories eh BB?

Part of the issue is that Cofie will be earning a comfortable wage and will have become acustomed to the very best of everything at Man United, without yet realising what a fragile existence he leads.

Odds are he'll be binned by Man United (could anyone argue otherwsie after his time here?), and then he'll have the rude awakening of having to build a career in amongst the grown-ups. Something he's already failed to do once with us.

All he needs to discover is the hunger, because God has presumably given him something that only the Man United academy has glimpsed.

Could Cofie's problem be that old bugbear: 'confidence'?

You see it in all sports, whether it is tennis, golf, snooker, or football. A lot of the players have prodigious talent, but the bit that separates the winners from the losers is the last 20% - confidence and determination. Some talented players just never make it.

Maybe Cofie just doesn't have the 'bottle' for professional football.

Hmmm. Let's see now..
A Millionaire England International. A Champions League Winner. Possibly from Dronfield...
No, there's no way I can work out who it is from that elaborate web of intrigue ;)

go on tell us.. i'm to idle to work it out :)

Tony Currie might not have bust a gut every week, but he was always involved and made more passes in one match than Cofie has made in his entire loan period!

My post about TC was tongue in cheek.

There have been a number of 'luxury' players who don't appear to be putting in much effort, but with one pass can turn a game. Glyn Hodges was one. Le Tissier is a classic example. He should have played far more games for England.

Did nothing whilst he was here apart from act like billy big bollocks.

I wonder what SAF will make of the reports & feedback from DW?

He probably wouldn't have loaned him if he thought he was any good. Last chance saloon.

The news release on the O/S was remarkably cryptic which suggests that you may be right in your 'billy big bollocks' assessment.

It could have said "We are sorry to see him go" or "He was a joy to work with in training" etc.

But it didn't.

Poor man's Luton Shelton I heard someone describe him as. Good riddance to the useless twat*.

Find it hard to belive that anyone disagree's with you ollie, they musn't be playin with a full deck mate.If we could ave got anyone on loan from mew would ave taken that brady lad who was/still is at ull.Theres a good un in midfield.

* I got slammed for saying something of the same ilk (mainly Houso I believe) earlier in the season, but it appears most are in agreement now.
