Can we sell out Def Leppard/Motley Crue?

Unfortunately for me Def Leppard were the standard bearers for everything I hated about the way Rock/Metal was going at the time. They left Sheffield as a brilliant, no frills, hard rocking band and they came back from the States as an over commercialised (much, much richer) bunch of pouting poodles, who became the high priests of hair metal and pop/rock…That’s when I checked out.
Nowt wrong with hair metal , I can listen to the lot from heavy Sabbath , DC to soft Whitesnake Foreigner

Crue should sack the sound engineer, it sounded crap and not the bands fault and Vince sounded better than I thought he was going to.
Lep’s were class as usual.

Managed to get some big vibrations on the cladding at the back of the Kop.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Never been a Motley Crue fan but Hysteria has always been one of my top 5 albums from being a teenager.

Only downside, which will make a few regular attendees to the Lane nod along, a few of our gang tonight aren't Blades. I warned off one who fancied a sausage roll 😁

He didn't take my advice and duly paid a fiver for a lump of coal between a bit of wallpaper. Upon taking it back in disgust, he had it replaced with one exactly the same 🤣

That's one of the worst gigs I've ever been to.

I should caveat that, by stating that I don't really like def leppard, at least not for 35 years since.

Easily the highlight of the show was motley crew doing anarchy in the UK.

Stood out from the over produced, poor man's bon Jovi that it was.

None of em lay a finger on queen for a good stadium took gig of that genre.

Not a fan of either band, but great for the club and city to have had this. Could hear most of it from my house!

It’d be good if the club tried to get more of these types of events during the summer as another revenue stream. We’ve had a few non-Blades events in recent years, so suspect it’s already the case that they are looking at this.

Always been a bit of a low-key Motley Crue fan, for all their (many) faults, and just looked up the setlist...if Vince's voice wasn't as wank as it was when I saw them at Download a few years ago, then I would have really enjoyed the set they played.

If you compare every band you see to Queen at Wembley in 86, then you're going to gave a lot of dissapointing nights

We are in the ideal location to hold many more events like this, close to the train and coach station etc.

I know very little about the music industry but I presume the cost to set up and dismantle the stage is a big chunk of what's made from the gigs. Surely it would have made sense to try and get another one or two acts on before taking it all down again?

You will never go to another gig if Queen is your benchmark

So who else had this Half man half biscuit lyric going through their head last night?

Oh help me Mrs Medlicott
I don’t know what to do
I’ve only got three bullets
And there’s four of Motley Crue
