Harsh for Jebbison just for the miss. Billy did same only last week.
Sharp had his best cameo for a while last night. Ran channels, held the ball up, caused problems for their defenders.I stand by what I've said for weeks: Sharp is getting the minutes Jebbison should be getting. I don't understand why (especially after another anaemic McBurnie performance) Jebbison isn't being used more.
Yes he missed a sitter, but I'd argue it doesn't help being sat on the bench for 80+ minutes watching McPub lumber round the park and seeing an OAP get on before him.
Jebbison (and Brewster) are the CFs we need to get 35+ points next season not Sharp/McBurnie. We need them to develop. They only do that by playing. Simples.
He's only a young lad, must be lousy seeing McBurnie and then grandad Billy getting minutes before him.I stand by what I've said for weeks: Sharp is getting the minutes Jebbison should be getting. Agree Berge got more space 2nd half after McAtee’s introduction , we had way more tempo & movement , shocking choice of that flat midfield 3 first halfHarsh on Lowe, he was the opposite of ‘timid’ last night and was one of his better games this season. My MoM with Egan, if he looks a bit more angry then people like him more, pretty lads like him don’t do anger and fist clenching though.
Berge was the best midfielder over the 90 mins, man marked first half but then found space second half and did well.
You do know that McAtee nearly wasn't in the squad due to injury don't you and only passed a late fitness test to appear on the bench? ( his foot was in a medical boot the day before so we planned the game without him). The intention was only to bring him on if required. I only hope we havent aggravated his injury. Was expecting a tight game against a side that since the turn of the year has some good results and few defeats and so it turned out to be , not helped by a crazy team selection dropping McAtee and and reintroducing Fleck ?? Hecky back to his I want to keep the old boys happy routine , but the midfield looked so flat , square & slow we didn’t even create one meaningful opportunity in the first 45 mins & this had all the hallmarks of another QPR or Rovrum home performance but at a much more crucial time in the season ! And even more fkg bizarre as McAtee can’t plsy Saturday ???
The introduction of the Salford Silva at HT immediately gave us some movement , creativity and our tempo and at least we were now looking a bit more threatening . When Berge effort just went over after a well worked move I was thinking it’s just gonna be one of those nights and Pearson would be having a smug smile on his face in the end of game interviews & feeding the S6 lobotomised wankfest.
Cue the games one real piece of quality as Ndiaye gives sells 2 of their defenders with a perfectly weighted pass to McAtee who in turn provides a quality executed finish & the ground erupts with a combination of ecstasy and relief , the latter being the main emotion
Jebbo’s late introduction could have made the shoreline a little more comfortable but he contrived to Sky it from 6 yards , but he offered more in his 10 mins on the pitch that McBurnie did in 70 .
All in all a very important nervy win & off to Wembley we go with our heads half under the sheets as what’s waiting us there , who knows ? it’s free hit , maybe there’s that 1% chance of a Wimbledon or Wigan moment , but in reality probably not , in the harsh light of football & money this was a more important result
Up The Mighty Blades![]()
Dunno watched every game been involved with and I’ve still not seen him win a headerHarsh for Jebbison just for the miss. Billy did same only last week. Match rusty, barely gets a kick, but did more in 2 mins as far as running at defenders is concerned than McFlimsy did in 73
Sharp's cameo was good yesterday and offered far more than McBurnie. He's only a young lad, must be lousy seeing McBurnie and then grandad Billy getting minutes before him.
Paul likes to keep the in crowd happy.
Some of the Wilder crew will need surgically removing from the stadium before the team can improve for next season.

But ignore the facts and slag off PH instead
If he has players who contribute nothing it is remarkable what he has achieved.I didn't know that.
Thanks. PH deserves criticism for his bizarre team selections and his sticking with players who contribute nothing.
He deserves immense respect for the overall achievement since he took over, quite amazing to me.
I am right behind him.
Same end result though.Sharp’s shot last week was on target. The keeper pulled off a great save.
Same end result though.

Think Berge might need a different manager, Heck seems like a nice ‘arm round’ encouraging type , but it looks like the other type ,bollocking, boot up arse, benching etc ,could be needed to get the best out of him and stop him drifting thro games ,trouble is it might make him cry though !Accurate score score for Berge. Thought he was too static tonight, lacked any purpose or intent to get it forred.
So pedestrian in midfield today it was unbelievable. No one wanted it, no one willing to drive forward and take a risk. Just timid square balls with it until we lose possession and invite pressure on ourselves.
Frustrating, but 3 points is 3 points as we edge ever closer to securing promotion.

Yep ,we need to know if jebbo ,coulibally, bogle ,but not at full back, etc are going to be options next season . We are supposed to have a decent youth squad but we hardly see them as Heck always reverts to the easy option ,meaning we go to Wembley with great trepidation , cus we know what our midfield will beI stand by what I've said for weeks: Sharp is getting the minutes Jebbison should be getting. Lowe's strengths last night came in his defensive performance in my opinion. He won a lot of headers (although he inexplicably let the ball go out a few times towards the end as well), pinched the ball and was tidy when he had it. He played a smart ball into Ndiaye for the goal and was also getting forward late on when we had some competent forwards on the pitch and I seem to recall him putting a very good ball in for Jebbo for the one he should have scored.Where to start with Lowe? Sat in the Pukka Pies for the second half and the guy I was next to gave a masterclass breaking down Lowe and his starting position, running angles and movement off the ball.
Opened my eyes to how inept and useless Lowe is. Compared to Baldock on the other wing who gave a masterclass in all those areas.
As an example, at 0-0 he barely crossed the half way then into the acres of space in front of him, yet at 1-0 up in the 86th minute he's popping up in the box in the inside right channel....
You asked, so here goes !Pretty unconvincing win tonight, one of a series of similar triumphs by a single goal where we continually struggled to better somewhat piss poor oppositions who face us and make it look like we are duffing it out with them for a league position near the bottom. The first half was a travesty as we didn't even huff or puff. It was as if Hecky had sent our team on and removed the BL end goal. Our midfield should be the engine of any enterprise but Bristol City were all over it. We just couldn't connect and strategize and it was difficult to see where any proper game plan lived outside of hustle and bustle, coughing up possession cheaply or just being fucking boring with the ball. BCFC weren't Burnley, people. They are mid-table and done for this season and looked it. Mission accomplished. But they smelled blood as soon as we failed to hammer them early and simply snuffed anything we had to offer. At forty you could feel the crowd's frustration at our lack of productivity.
Shit changed in the second half when Hecky brought on McAtee and changed it from 5-3-2 to 3-4-2-1 which at least was a start. We got more onwards toward their box if for fuck all. If it wasn't left to NDaiye to do it all on his own it was centred for McB who is now showing worryingly more McPub these days. We again huffed and puffed and some weak shots came to no effect and worse still, BCFC again started to match us in midfield and at times go up the other end. You know what happens there, don't you? Think Millwall, Blackpool and Huddersfield last season.
Then suddenly its left for the thinkers of the team to finally unlock Brizzle and NDaiye finds McAtee who shows how its done. Bristol could have declared then because they'd chucked their hand in and we get a goal disallowed, bring on more subs and one of them puts a sitter in the kop from 0.5 metres.
Davies 7/10: Impressed with him tonight but still unsure of his overall confidence and capability. Very much o his toes as 'last defender'
Baldock 7/10: Good game from George. Usual committed and solid outing and a billion miles better than Bogle
Anel 6/10: Back in the seat and 'okay' if at times a bit flakey on clearances
Egan 7.5/10: A lot better from Egan. Dealt well with Wiemann and other threats and marshalled things well
Robinson 7/10: Usual blood and guts from him and a sweet feet moment late on
Lowe 5/10: Again, vanilla and timid from him however marginally better
Berge 4/10: Here we go. Same old bland, sideways and unconvincing outing. One brief moment of 'goes past player' then it leads to fucking nothing. Shot into the kop in second half. Someone tell me how I can give this fucking waste of a shirt more than five out of ten, eh? Our game should hinge on him and his obvious yet reluctant ability. Egan seemed to lose his shit at him and he basically coasted through a game where he should be 8/10 and owning that fucking sacred pitch.
Doyle 7/10: Busy little sod. No idea why the fuck he was subbed because I would have run him empty tonight.
Fleck 2/10: Dreadful. Not even Jimmy tonight, just a bloke who has been at the club too long. McAtee would have been a better choice in honesty. Far cleverer player with a better engine and proven threat from his starting position. If he plays on Saturday it will be for comedy value
NDaiye 7/10: It's always left to him, isn't it?
McBurnie 2/10: Really poor. Regressing back to frustrating levels of alehouse stuff and not having much effect as a striker. They had three full backs in their backline tonight which he would have bullied and beaten. Deservedly subbed.
Sharp 6/10: Got stuck in if disappointingly fouled their keeper for a NDaiye disallowed goal
McAtee 7/10: Immediate effect and got himself involved with a great, crucial goal for us. Please keep him.
Norwood 5/10: Clumsy and match rusty. Now past his limited best
Jebbison 1/10: Someone said on shoutbox as Jebbo came on 'I watch Jebbison and keep thinking he'll be destined for better things one day'. Not kicking it over the bar with two thirds of the net and from half a yard he won't. Fucking rubbish. Fallowfield could have scored that. I keep thinking he's not that fucking good and people are just hoping he'll turn it on.
HJ&SMcC 6/10: Shit lineup from the first whistle and no change plan through a bobbar first half. Got the win but is was a struggle where it needn't be. We're gonna get battered on Saturday. Ready your arseholes, Bladesmen.

Remember that for 45 mins he had Fleck in front of him and was having to keep an eye on 2 players while Jimmy waddled about doing not a lot.
