"The View from [our opposition]" is a regular post match thread on BladesMad, collected by Roygbiv. I often find them interesting.

"the ball boy threw the ball the other way ,just heard him on radio GMR croft swore at the kid , the kid not hear what he said to him after the game ,but croft after said sorry ( now its a mountain out of a mole hill)"

"Have to laugh at the Sheff Utd keyboard warriors tweeting stuff like "gonna beat up Croft, little ****" and "Lee Croft you fat ****er, I hope you get hit by a bus", then calling him a coward."

"I can't wait to 'experience' their support at BP again this season. They're the only club of whom the majority, rather than the minority, of their support was scum. An utter set of mouth breathing, oxygen thieving thugs."

"Walkin through the subways I was subject to a barrage of abuse from Sheff utd fans calling for Crofty's head"

"if croft did say something racist, i'd want the club to take a strong stance and think carefully if they need to back him, look how Chelsea have looked with the Terry scenario
still, it seems Croft got angry and didn't say anything too much out of order"

"I have got to say that I was one that questioned the management of the side but today lets all unite in celebrating what its not just a great point but an oustanding preformance
Every man did there job in the club and the fans currently beaming from ear to ear
We were the better side, we took the game to them, we out passed them, worked are socks off and looked like the home side who should be tipped to finish at the top"

"We were the better team for basically the entire 90 minutes, and on reflection we're unlucky only to come away with a point."

"When will Sheff Utd ever learn? Play to the whistle"

"Ref and lino were crap. they tried cheating and bullying. crap penalty to give away (soft to say the least). they had one chance, we had several, passed the ball, kept a high tempo and actually deserved to win. croft kicked off with a ball boy, but he was probably the same height, so stop being a mard arse yorky boy - **** even the ball boy are cheats:)"

"To do 'em twice at the death in consecutive seasons had me leaping around like a lunatic"

"i thought tge linesman did us a favour by flagging Kitson offside when he wasnt"

"Love this kind of away game. Pity the ref was such a tart. Blades are horrible fans. Loved the banana song!"

"blackman clearly dived near the touchline and should've been sent off."

"Vast majority of vocal blades on twitter seem nasty sorts. They're alo saying racial abuse involved with Croft/ballboy malarkey. Anypne got a clue about that one? It seems to be ****ty rumour started by their lot."

"Blackman was a bit of a knob throughout. Whinging, diving, fouling. I liked him when he was here as well."

"They just interviewed him on GMR, he lost his temper when the ball boy threw the ball away and did the 'shush' gesture when we scored, he went over to apologise to the kid at the end and he didn't want to know. Sounds like something being made of nothing."

"Someone asked who we want in fa cup earlier in the week...Sheffield United away for me please"

"It's a weird one - everyone says we need a "rival" and I think Sheffield United are up there as contenders. I'd rather beat them than Rochdale or Huddersfield, say...Nasty fans, nasty club and nasty county!"

"We were saying that the ballboys were delaying throwing the ball in After they scored so the crofty/ball boy incident wasn't isolated Sheffield united and Danny Wilson should be ashamed of themselves if this is how they want to get out of this division we don't want them. "

"if the Sheff Utd fans are accusing Croft of racism and these statements are being put forward then what was said? After the Adeyemi incident at Anfield we knew within an hour or two after the game what had been allegedly said and got a picture of the situation. I seriously doubt Croft is that stupid to have racially abused the ball boy, I hope I'm right. If he did say something then hes a moron and it needs dealing with but I have to say, right now, it seems like the Sheff Utd fans need anything to amuse themselves after watching their team get outplayed at home"

"On a different note about Sheff Utd, the family stand to the left of us, will ours look a bit like that? Same kind of layout, windows at top etc and then the seats.. Looked decent."

"I'm not having this "antics" rubbish.
They complain about diving. The most blatent dive was Blackman's in the second half under Croft's challege where he should have recieved a second yellow.
M'Voto's "headbutt" was a nudge to the shoulder.
The stamp; non-existent.
The manager running 20 yards to harrass the linesman. What manager doesn't do that when their team is in a desperate position?
The attempt to get a player sent off for standing on the ball. Barely. When Simpson challenged with the keeper they marauded the referee for him to be booked.
Trying to put Blackman off during the penalty. Give me a break. Thats what happens during a penalty in every match, its mind games. See reality.
Their fans are a pathetic, excuse-laden, deluded joke who need to accept that now they're the second team in Sheffield and aren't even the second team in League 1. I'll be happy to see them miss out on promotion again and suffer in this league because they earn nothing more. We'll take that point and they should be pleased it wasn't 3.
Good riddance Sheffield United and your over-hyping fans, until next year."

"Most of the fans on their board from what I can see are criticising their performance and conceding that a draw was probably a fair result"

"They're fast becoming the new Huddersfield thinking they're a big club"

"Thought we played very well today against a very solid team - a well deserved equaliser at the end"

"Chuffing brilliant, last minute and I love wiping the smile of them ***** blades.Bet the blades board has gone ape"

"Just browsing their forum and they are complaining about the time added on.
It's their fault for wasting time and causing delays the feckin sheep shagging *******s."

"If they miss out on promotion by 3 points again this season, I don't think I'll ever stop laughing"

"sheffield were a very poor team in my opinion."

"Someone should complain about that ball boy who kicked the ball away and then let Croft retrieve a ball for one of their throw ins to waste injury time. I'm on clioud 9. Today makes me proud to be an Oldham fan and why it makes up for all the sorrow."

"right load of idiots their fans are, far worse than Wednesday I.M.O. I remember a night match in the '70's when we ended up in the main stand paddock and there was battling all over the place. I was only about 14 or so."

"The elation I felt from that goal was one of my greatest moments as a long standing Latics supporter, seriously on a par with Redders pen vs Sheff Weds all those years ago.they were so bloody negative it was untrue. They were playing for time for a full 20 mins before the 90 was up, even the ball boys were in on it."

"the scenes that followed will live with me for a long, long time...every emotion possible was on show from fans, players and staff to a man. I swear that I never caught my breath for minutes after the goal and my stomach is still hurting from that roar that started it's journey from the pit of my belly.
The celebrations with the players on the final whistle must've lasted a good ten minutes...today is the reason why the majority of us come back week after week!! #fantasticday "

I found the Oldham players, team, supporters to be the biggest bunch of ignorant, obnoxious thugs i've seen at BL for a long time.

Oddly enough they was completely different from what they was during the first game of last season, when 4,000 Blades took over their rat infested shithole of a fleapit.

Hahahaha! The most balanced review i've read in...the last 30 seconds! pillock! :D

It WAS just a league game wasn't it? Not a cup final or anything?

Would a neutral say you were similar? :D

I was with a 3 year old child, who is like a sponge for absorbing information.

Walking back to the station i was glad that he didn't near one Oldham fan's comments about Sheffield's diverse ethnic background.

Oldham, along with Barking and Burnley, is where the BNP has been strongest in recent years.

Interesting viewpoints from their fans. Not sure why they have reason to hate us... Can't think we've played them that much or had any particular issues with them... They've not been on my radar a all.

As for their team, thought they battled hard, but managed to con the ref a bit.

Nothing club trying to find a rival... Oh dear

That doesn't surprise me, the EDL have been in Rotherham today, so i'd kind of half guessed that some of these prats had been on the march, then gone to the football.

Take it from me, their bark is worse than their bite. We went to a cup match at Bolton in around 2010, and one of the younger lads who comes with us is half pakistani, and he copped some grief from 4 retards with matching EDL hoodie tops on in Manchester, think they had been to Stoke and i can remember clearly they said Wigan Division on, they started trying to give my mate some grief when he went to the bar, Didn't go down well in a pub full of pissed Blades.

Someone from Oldham slagging off Sheffield, is a bit like an American calling the Swiss Army Knife a weapon of mass destruction. Do they even have indoor toilets there yet??

Next time you see any of these muppets, ask them if EDL stands for erectile dysfunction from too much lager. Poor little souls don't know if you're being serious, joking or insulting them. Bless em!

Flynn could have won the game with a bad miss.

I don't think anyone could have described Oldham in general better than that.

Oldham will be back to playing in front of 4,000 at their fkin shit-hole of a ground next week. You think they'd just earned a draw at Barcelona the way they are going on.

I am from Oldham, married a Sheff Utd fan, used to go regularly to Boundary Park, I was there when Redfern scored the Pen against Wednesday to go up as Champions. I was also at the game yesterday in the Kop. Its the first time I have been to see United play Latics as I had a portion of split loyalties. I said to my hubby half way through the first half that I now know who I support. The Oldham i remembered were a free playing entertaining team who made friends wherever they went, i was disgusted by the team who I saw yesterday, that was not my hometown team, they play just like their manager did, they were dirty and sneaky. I noticed them trying to imtimidate George Long when he was trying to kick out. One thing though, there has always been a historical dislike in Oldham for United its not a new thing, and in Lancashire 'sheep Shaggers' is generally shouted to any Yorkshire team!!!!!

Hard to argue that we deserved the 3 points. As Doyle pointed out in his post match interview, the first half was as bad as I've ever seen from a United side - we didn't have a single shot on or off target. Pathetic. That said they were almost as bad and I don't recall them making a decent opening either.

2nd half of course we improved but other than the penno (which was a stone waller from where I was sat, even the defender knew it from judging his reaction) and Flynn's chance we still created very, very little. Oldham had one decent chance which Long saved and of course the goal which was well taken. On reflection a draw was definitely the correct result based on the balance of play.

I'll put my neck on the line though and predict we won't finish top 2 unless we can get some pace down the wing. We are so lacking in wide areas it's untrue. I think we can persevere with Flynn as he's getting better all the time but we desperately need another outlet. Playing Cofie wide did not work and it smacks of Warnocks days when we're forced to put strikers there. Sadly I think we're screwed for wages still and we're not likely to see anyone coming in from outside which leaves Chappell and McFadzean who have surely got to be worth chucking in - maybe we'll get the opportunity to see how they fare against County on Wednesday.

Pissing myself reading the original postings by deluded old ham fans .
The one about drawing us in the Fa Cup and rival in the same sentence. Seriously kid ?

Oldham have lost Rochdale as a rival and are now trying to find another haha. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't a rivalry have to be a two way thing?

Oh and by the way Rochdale was a much friendlier set-up and so was Bury and guess what. They both had 4 stands.

Just read that thread from the Oldham tosser.

Any older Blades will remember they were lucky to bring a car full to the lane in the 70s/early 80s and we had one of the seasons annual outings at there place when we didn't just take their end but the whole f***ing town.

It WAS just a league game wasn't it? Not a cup final or anything?

You'd have though so the way they celebrated. An entire point at Bramall Lane ! whoop de fookin do .Standards that low at Oldham?

There is nothing sadder than a shitty little club like oldham making out as if we're big rivals when most blades wouldn't give them a second thought. If oldham's like any of the other outlaying areas of Manchester then I feel sorry for them, let them have their moment. I feel earning a point away to us will be the highlight of their season.

What a bizarre amount of vitriol for an incredibly poor Div1 footy match.

Thought Oldham did what Dickov used to do as a player. Buzzed, chirped, niggled, but also played some decent away-day football. Meanwhile, United were utterly shocking in the first half, and barely adequate for most of the second half.

As for the handbags, if United's players didn't stand up to their 18 year old keeper being intimidated then I'd be disappointed. All very standard stuff. Sadly, so was Oldham's Chelsea-like habit of playing up to the ref after fouls and other decisions. Equally so Blackman's pathetic dive late on.

Oldham deserved their point and got it. United must improve. Next!
