I suppose because it comes down to the priorities and circumstances of the individual player.

Haaland has a guaranteed place in the Norway team whenever he fancies it. The race to with the Premier League (combined with a potential place in the record books for most goals scored in an EPL season) is likely to be a higher priority for him than playing one or two more games for Norway.

But N’diaye , Berge, Egan and Ahmedhodzic are looking to establish/cement their positions in their respective national teams and aren’t likely to want to give up that opportunity for possibly increasing the likelihood of finishing second in the Championship.

I'd like Haaland to play, it's hardly like Alvarez will be useless, and Haaland will likely be an all time great who may not play in England long.

We might not get many chances to see him against our boys.
