Grow a spine and offer some fucking support at the upcoming matches, if you actually go.

You don't have a unique insight that others not as knowledgeable can't see. Anyone knows we haven't been consistent in our performances for a while.

Sure as eggs are eggs though, creating a negative edgy atmosphere will help Boro and others more than ourselves.

If you haven't noticed the club isn't in the healthiest of positions off the pitch and the money from promotion is key to our short term future. That's surely alot more important than a round of self satisfied 'I told you so's' from the usual doom mongers.

If you want to be supportive, be supportive. You're entitled to. If people want to be angry because of the Boro match and today, let them. They're entitled to be. At least they're being honest about concerns and the cracks that are showing. What are they supposed to do, ignore the last two poor performances and pretend that they didn't happen?

If we lose our next league match at home to Watford and play as badly as we have done this week, then the crowd is going to become hostile, and like it or lump it there will be booing at the final whistle, as it is a way of letting Hecky and the players know that it's just not good enough. I'm not saying booing is right or that I do it, as I don't, but it's going to happen.

Get with it pal we are all supposed to go into a forum meltdown.

(Talking generally now, not aiming at you Son of) I completely get the 'people are entitled to moan' argument aye, you're right. I just don't get how bloody quick or consistently it happens.

There's nowt wrong with a bit of loyalty and support is there ("thick or thin, lose or win" and all that) or does that make you a happy clapper and not as smart as the others?

For most of us, the Blades have been shite for the majority of the time we've supported them. Like with your mates or your family, when someone's struggling, that's when you show you've still got there back isn't it? Or should we all boo them n'all?

Indeed.

As It stands, with the number of games that us and Middlesbrough have played now even, we have a 7 point cushion. Usually, that would be considered a very healthy position to be in.

Of course, we can’t help thinking on what might have been had we done the business in midweek. Promotion could have pretty much been in the bag in February but, then again, realistically, when does that ever happen? All seasons ebb and flow.

Our results up to this week bought us the insurance/luxury of being able to absorb a bumpy run of defeats. It is always hoped that you won’t need to use it, but we have. And we still have another 7 points to fall back on should we need to. Nobody is going past us without another 3 match days going against us.

Today’s result wasn’t remotely surprising. Contrary to the narrative of this team bouncing back from setbacks, what we actually tend to see is that when things go against them, it knocks their duck off and they take time to recover their composure. The way that the team packed in at 1-3 with 20 minutes still to go on Wednesday night told me that they weren’t going to be up for dealing with Millwall less than 72 hours later.

The past couple of weeks - since the stupid draw at Wrexham - have seen us get wrapped up in all sorts of stupid nonsense. Everything was trundling along serenely until that match but since then we’ve had Jebbison’s sending off; an unwelcome extra circus of a match at home; all the post-match rubbish after Wrexham leading to Sharp being charged; the manager being sent off; and a developing feud with match officials (and there is only one winner of that unless you’re ManU).

We’ve lost focus on what we were doing. We need to shut out, what Wilder used to call, the outside noise and get back to competently managing games properly against, let’s be right, a division full of pretty average sides.

Watford are winless in 5 games. We shouldn’t be remotely frightened of them. We’ve got a week to calm down and reset. Deal with Watford as we should do, and next week week could very easily be a weekend when whatever lead we have going into the weekend, is extended given that WBA are easily capable of beating Middlesbroug.

People are always free to act like cunts. But who wants to be known as one?. "Don't be a cunt" is always advice worth taking imo. But I agree: it's people's right to be a cunt.

It's a two way street, football.
Just such a shame Norwood chucked in the towel in defending that 3rd goal today
Egan chucked the towel in before the game today and neshed every single header. It was quite pathetic.
Berge neshed so many challenges.
Hecky chucked the towel in with a stupid red card on Weds and a bizarre defensive team selection today. Putting tiny Ben on before Illy or Macca. That is bottling it.
I see the manager and team chucking the towel in not the fans Davalon.
Let's see if they can give us anything to cheer on against Watford.
That and the SAG nonsense is not helping but hey let's blame the fans.

Too right, bedwetters fuck yourselves.

Only one winner when Ndiaye and Mcatee came on. Poor defending cost us. We're still a good team, get behind them and stop fucking moaning.

Being honest, I only saw the last 10 mins today and I agree I only saw one winner after we had equalised and it wasn't us. I said to the lad, we need to shut up shop at the back and take a decent point here or we will get done with a late sucker punch. It's almost as if I've seen it a thousand times before. 2 mins later and from a hopeful punt into our box from a free kick we are all over the shop and hey presto my forewarning had come true. With our defence today you take the point and stay unbeaten. Unprofessional. So I agree, I could only see one winner in the bit I saw, unfortunately it was them.

Probably add as well that a completely irresponsible situation around the window as well. We are clearly one forward light right now. Those two grown men supposedly both with the club's interest at heart - current and prospective owners - should be damn well ashamed of themselves to have us completely impotent in the last week of the window, whilst both the team in first and the team in third add crucial reinforcements.

We're reaping what they sowed to some degree now.

We were much the better team 2nd half but conceded two poor goals against the run of play.

When we equalised I thought if there was to be one be us.

Flip side is 1st half could have gone in 3-0 down

Also, and I may be wrong here, but that free kick for their third came from us being in possession and instead of sticking the ball in the box and putting their defence under pressure, we fannied about with it and then Illiman gave the free kick away. Really bad game management from a team on the attack and being in control.

If we can’t vent our spleen on a forum, where can we do it? As long as we’re all right behind em at the lane.

What I thought at the time was that we were being really lazy in getting back into our defensive positions and getting ready to defend it. Some United player (can't remember who it was was just ambling back and not picking up anybody at all outside the box. They chucked it in and had an extra man. It was absolutely shit defending. And why didn't we have someone standing in fron of the ball and only moving when we had our players in position? Opposition players would do it. It was beyond frustrating as you could see it all happening in slow motion like a fucking car crash and Billy nobody like me can see it, for the love of all that is holy why can't the fkin United players see that they aren't set right. If it had been some really skilful football from Millwall to open us up at the death then I could take that. The reason I feel I've been kicked in the testicles since the result is that it was completely preventable. So pissed off with United today and I don't usually let them piss me off as much as they have done today. Need a drink or ten tonight I think.

People on here have been moaning since Xmas when we're breaking records
They are only happy when they moan and unfortunately it seeps through to the players on match day
It's not the Sheffield united way its the Sheffield united supporters way

It’s a Sheffield thing unfortunately.

I'm really disappointed I can only like this post once.

We all know if any team could throw a 10 point lead away it would be us but we have a game In hand and Boro won't win all there games.

We will stay up now west ham won't win all their games and we have an 8 point lead over them.

We will be ok,8 point lead the pigs won't win all their games and they definitely won't win away at Brentford and we have Stevenage at home
..

We have had two bad results against promotion rivals and so a certain amount of nervousness is understandable.

However, if you want some comfort, look to the past.

Bassett's promotion winning side of 1989-90 had some terrible results in the second half of the season : 0-5 at West Ham, 0-4 at Leeds, 0-3 at Oxford, 1-3 at home to Sunderland. And we were also sometimes pretty unconvincing when winning. Port Vale and Oxford at Bramall Lane spring to mind.

That season the only side to finish in the top 7 that we beat was Swindon. We took one point from each of Leeds, Newcastle, Blackburn, Sunderland and no points at all from West Ham.

With just 4 games to go we lost at Elland Road 0-4 and fell out f the top two for (I think) the first time that season or at least the first time in a long while.
However, suddenly the pressure was on Newcastle and they only won one of their closing 4 fixtures (drew 2 and lost 1). We finished by winning 3 and drawing 1 of our final fixtures and went up with 85 points.

Pressure can do strange things to a side and I think we are feeling that pressure. Unfortunately it has coincided with a difficult run of games. It happened under Warnock as well and I recall a midweek game between Leeds and Crystal Palace at Elland Road. If Leeds won I think they would have gone either level with us or maybe just one point behind. They lost and never really recovered from that.

You just never know what will happen. If the past is anything to go by there could still be many strange and unlikely twists to come.

We got undone with poor defending again. For 10 minutes before we scored and 15 minutes after we were dominant and looked like winning.
