Doubt the players will notice his abscence from the touchline whilst serving his ban. McAll please roast them to play for more than 20 minutes!

If McAtee would have gone down, would the ref had issued a yellow card. So by playing on did it cancel a yellow? I really don't know if that what Hecky was pissed off with
Just read that was why he was upset. And he's right. Do we fall over with the slightest touch, a la Grealish, or do the honest thing and play FKIN football.

It's was obvious early on what the problems were, we were totally dominated in midfield and over run out wide, especially down our left.

Im no manager but I'd have brought Coulibally and Jebbo on at half time and taken Berge and McAtee off and dropped Ndiaye into Berges role allowing him and Coulibally to use their athleticism to compete with Boros midfield.

Instead Hecky did nothing ensuring a very predictable outcome

I agree that Hecky got it wrong tonight, and think some people have good suggestions as to why.

It's worth saying though, that I've seen about 5 different versions of, "he's clueless, it's obvious he should have done x".

It can't be obvious if we don't all agree on what we would have done.
Just to add to this, given we eventually lost 3-1 and scored our only goal in the opening minutes I’m a bit perplexed why, being able to use 5 substitutes, we only used 2.

Surely you can try something different or inject fresh legs.

If you’d have hooked Sander and McAtee in favour of Coulibaly and Fleck, nobody would have been outraged.

If you’d have brought Basham on for Lowe and put Bogle on the left, it would have also created a different dynamic.

I just don’t get why Hecky hasn’t bought more into the ability to make 5 subs or the fact that it’s ok to hook the likes of Sander if it isn’t working.

Here’s one for ya. Wilders Middlesbrough shite. Carricks Middlesborough great.

Utds same wilder tactic shite.

It’s like everyone says our midfield let’s us down on most occasions.

Sander and McAtee have goals in them and can beat a man. I'd imagine people would be complaining that we'd brought on two players thay aren't match sharp into a manic, transitional game, both of whom rarely beat a man or score.

Saying that, I'd have liked to see Fleck and Osborn on for McAtee at 2-1, maybe even Osborn on for Lowe. Maybe we needed less dribblyness in midfield and more control, slow it down a bit with Coulibaly.

That's it!

Wilder's football just doesn't work, fuck knows why we've been playing it all these dismal years. We've not played decent football since the glory days of the Nigels.

We got completely exposed yesterday. They pushed their two wide players really forward having four across the front line. Their central midfielders stayed in the centre of the pitch. We tried to press and even included Bogle in it leaving us completely exposed if they broke the press. Dangerous tactics perhaps if we stole the ball, but we didnt often enough. It turned into a frenetic game that suited them better than us. Second half we did nothing to change it and fell into the same traps. Very bad tactically from the manager last night.

Wilder's football worked because we'd cross the ball into the box and have two strikers, three midfielders, a centre back and a full back waiting to get on the end of it. We were quick getting the ball forward into the box so that we outnumbered them and were likely to score. Now we're slow and hesistant in the build up and crowded out or outnumbered when we do finally cross it in. Wilder's tactics will still work if we use them right. We don't.

Tell that to the league table...

Norwood was having a shocker to be fair. McAtee was too but I don’t think either can argue they deserved to stay on.

As always. Norwood has a poor game then everyone has a poor game.

We don't tend to get a result when he isn't playing well.

I like Hecky.

He also proved me wrong after Slav. I thought he'd make us tighter defensively but didn't foresee us being as good going forward.

Despite being supported with good squads since he took over, I think he's done a great job.

However, I do have one little niggle. A bit similar to how I felt about Clough. Is he ultimately a winner? Can he see us over the line.

Some managers do very credible jobs but you wonder where their ceiling is. For example, I thought Jones did an incredible job at Luton but was convinced he'd bomb at Southampton. I just don't see him as a winner.

I thought we flopped on and off the pitch last night. Hopefully just a blip and we come roaring back.

At matches, us fans need to do our bit too. If the gap closes and it gets edgy, we need to get behind them rather than add to the edginess.

Was Berge even on the pitch tonight? Yet another 90 minutes where the £20mil Rolls Royce did nothing. Massively over rated player. Way too inconsistent and anonymous in matches for the hype surrounding him.
going by the Wrexham game i think at 1-0 or 1-1, Coulibaly should have been considered he did look capable of retaining possession and taking the heat out of the match

As soon as we went to four at the back I thought we were more likely to concede than score. It always seemed to happen in the Wilder years. It's a shame Doyle has turned out to be such a crock.
Don't forget the other crock as well Clarke.
