I'm dissapointed by the lack of Boro supporters on this forum. Surely there are a few that could come on here and tell us that we are doomed and promotion is not so for us.
I a Boro fan and I have no beef with you lot, I like you lot better than the owls. Also we have no chance of catching you so why the animosity, I have no idea. I'm far more concerned with the chance of loosing the playoff final against Sunderland than trying to catch you. I think I would rather miss out on the playoffs than that happen. Besides we always get stuffed at your place so what's new.

Are you sure you're not one of Dozy's bots?!

And this is why I personally don't like Boro.

They're a medium-sized club who distorted the competition by spending money that they only had due to Gibson's patronage. He's as much to blame for the current ridiculous situation regarding football finances as Chelsea and Man City are.

And then, when he was prevented from pouring money in by P&S rules, he kicked off about other teams doing what he did (hence suing Derby County). Man's a full-weight cunt. Only good things to come out of Middlesbrough are Chris Kamara and Bob Mortimer.
Look up the history, I think both clubs are virtual twins top flight seasons historical crowd averages lack of trophies. So if we are a medium sized club so are you. By the way I think we are both big clubs but not massive clubs.

I would never say that we're anything more than a medium sized club, but then again I don't have delusions of grandeur.

your doomed, promotion isnt for you. we just waiting for the self destruct button to be pressed, derby county style. hears hoping eh hahaha

its just one game and 3 points, if not going to mean a lot in the grand scheme of things. if we(boro) get beat which is the norm here. then all the auto hopefulness will vanish in thin air. if we win, we will probably end up losing the next two with you guys winning both. auto hopes over lol.

thats all we have, hope. i said when carrick took over that we would struggle to get in the play off places, i think we were 10 points off them. but we are 3rd now and got into the play off mix within really easily. but in that whole time blades and burnely just kept winning and nothing changed. still a massive gab. being honest its pretty much a certainty to remain a big gap.
the majority of the league are gash. if the blades were to not come out for half hour after half time, then we might have a chance.

i seen another post about the xg vs cardiff being poor so we were lucky to win. well i watched the game and we had 5 clear cut chances. scored 3 hit the post twice. they had one goal which we gave them from a stupid throw out from keeper. then 30 yard wayward shooting totted up the Remainder of their chances other than one header, which was as close as they came to creating a goal themselves.

first half we had 70+% possession. not talking about swansea possession here. it was all in their half, they were hanging on for dear life most of it. second half they improved but did nothing and we just sat in and countered. should of had 2 more goals akpom hit the post from 5 yards out.

Always the hope that gets you!;)

Well, those cocky Boro fans were 100% correct. We looked like a long ball team compared and their football schooled us. Disappointing about the mental toughness shown tonight. Also - when was the last time illiman had a good game?

They won't play better.

I doubt in midfield we could play much worse.

McAtee had a stinker, kept giving the ball away and running down blind alleys.

Sander was largely anonymous.

Norwood far too quiet.

It just wasn't our night.

Their second goal came from Norwood's pass. It was hugely fortunate but our fault.

Their third was a blatant foul on McAtee for which we received no advantage and the ref just stood there paralyzed.

The third should have been pulled back but ended the game as a contest. I'm not surprised Heckingbottom was fuming. We were doing most of the attacking in the second half.

But even at the death we just couldn't make things count. Poor header from Egan when he should have scored late on for example.

It's not quite coming off for Iliman right now either which can paper over the cracks when not doing well.

They played very well, but important instances in the game went for them and not for us.

We need to keep our heads now, show a reaction vs Millwall and knock our game in hand off.

End of the day you don't go through the season not losing and Boro lost to Sunderland. So we need to make this our Sunderland and just get back on the horse.

You get a pass on the post match view from Boro as far as I’m concerned Andrew

Looking at those comments the morning after the night before, it seems to me they (mostly) got it about right, apart from the one who thinks we play at Bramhall Lane. I wish they'd turned up there (wherever it is). If they had done so and beat whoever they played there, we would have been safe in the knowledge that it wasn't us!
