Today I think we will go
Howard
McMahon McGuire Collins Hill
Flynn Doyle McDonald Quinn
Cofie Blackman

On paper that's not that bad given where we are.
Have we any decent left backs in the youth set up?
I can see Mcfadzean pushing Flynn for a starting place soon

Should easily be as strong as anything in this league, providing they can gel and actually form a team. Same core as last season so they should be able to do that.

The only player I have reservations over there is Hill, but Lecsinel should be back soon and we'll be up to full strength.

I'm optimistic looking at that. For all the slagging Porter and Cresswell get, they're definitely not bad back up to have at this level, and if that lad from Crewe can get back to showing his early potential we should have a potent forward line.

It's up to Flynn isn't it? He has the chance to cement a place. Personally, I think the wide midfield positions remain an obvious weakness.

IMHO I think Flynn will flatter to decieve yet again. Will we see him take a fullback on, inside or out I dont mind, and actually beat him? I doubt it very much.

Flynn isn't the best but who else have we got? I know you can't judge an academy player on one game but McFadzean didn't look like Flynn's replacement and was generally poor. At least Flynn can deliver a good ball and he will help to win the ball back if we lose possession. For me, left back is the striking weakness as opposed to right mid.

Players like Flynn definitely need to step up this season. I think the lads got great potential but he needs a good run in the team to gain real confidence to take players on and not be worried if he messes up now and again.

How long do you give them though, given that when they do start they don't really contribute? I'd love Flynn to make a real impact fo us. I'll bare my arse on the town hall steps if he does.

Having seen today's alternative, I think his chance will come soon.

based on today,i can see Quinn playing down the middle just off Blackman on Tuesday with Flynn playing wide.
