Sounds like Leeds takeover bid is falling apart which probably means they won't be coming in for Monty.

Oh how I laughed when the guy from their supporters club said it. Made me think about Warnock and how he is going to have to make do with scraps again. Mind you, its what the odious anti football stain deserves in the twilight of his career. I wonder how many more matches his team will play without 11 men on the pitch next season.

Maybe not so smug now eh Warnock? Also, I assume that means Bates is back at the helm. Doesn't get better really does it?

It would have been better if they'd signed Monty first.

They'll comfortably be in the top 6, and probably have an outside chance of the top 2. His additions to the Leeds squad this summer remind me of the shrewd business he did for us and QPR the summers before our promotions.

why not loan him out we were prepared to at the end of last season so why not now.

Maybe it's time to organise some kind of intervention for you , we all love you Martin but your unhealthy obsession is driving us away

Well it could, it would be better if Sheffield United were safely in the Championship with an average attendance of about 24,000 and Leeds were stuck in League One with a huge wage bill, haunting memories of Wembley and an uncertain future.

Oh how we can wish for a time machine...

Perhaps you're forgetting, Warnock always thrived with limited money.
It's when he had money he generally wasted it.

Doesn't seem to be working with you Judge, your the gift that just keeps giving. :)

We will see. He didn't seem to have a scooby last season when he sent his thugs out against Reading. Fell well short of Kens expectations and I expect to see him on the scrap heap ready for "one last challenge". Also, how many cracks did he have at getting us up on limited funds? It was only when short arms finally gave him a few bob he did anything.

Warnocks a myth, he has to do it with buttons because no one decent will come and play for the old footballasaurus.

Fact is his defenders tend to forget the battle of Bramall Lane and 0-0 draws against Gillingham because we were watching out for Paul Shaw (yes that footballing genius). How Real Madrid wouldn't have beaten Walsall on one occasion?!?! and the many other times he made you put your own head in your hands because of what Warnock had done or said.

Best bit for me is that Kozzy will be doing his coaching badges soon enough and probably be his defensive coach. One LUMP or two?

Fact is he took us into the Premiership and very very nearly kept us there and since he left we have been on a downward spiral.

fact is he didn't keep us up, so didn't the downward spiral start with him and his January transfer window Sheltons and Secks?

What year are we in? I could have sworn it was 2012, I think someone has already been using a time machine

Warnock not only brought us success, he brought back a culture of belief within the club that we could do anything if we put our mind to it. He took over when we were at a low, gates low, fans low, players very average at best. He built us up, alongside KM. We got relegated under him too, that's football. The spiral that followed is entirely left to those who did the running after Warnock left.

Our (KM's) attitude at the time was that we belonged in the PL, and near the top for that matter so Warnock had to go. With hindsight, I'd have kept him and see if he could get us back. The managerial appointments since (except DW) have been disastrous.

You hit the nail on the head there. Many on this forum can't stand the fact that NW is our most successful manager since the 80's and that he will get results where ever he goes. Now that NW had no money, you can stick your Porter top Goalscorer money and stick on Leeds to be Promoted to the PL and def win some money.

And he goes and proves his two faced credentials by buying the man he previously called a sewer rat. Mmmm double standards again warnock?

Waiting for the press conference "i have always rated insert new purchase here. I have just never been in a position to buy him before. Did i ever tell you about tye time Ken bates asked me to be Chelsea manager."

Oh and Jacko. Bassett was around in the 90's. Dont you dare bismearch the mans name by alluding he wasn't as good as that odious man Warnock. Twice the Manager and many times better the man.

Both were good managers, both did what was needed at the time. In the interest of fairness, we were also relegated from the Premier League under Bassett. That's football.

In the interests of true fairness, one got everything he asked for with regards to funding and the other one had the rug pulled from under him..

Good timing, I just woke up!

I can't believe this is even an argument about whether Warnock was or wasn't a good manager. Warnock took us over, we were mid-table nothing-ness. We became a strong side, we could beat anyone, confidence grew, attendances grew, the club grew. Our league form was solid, our cup runs were exciting.

As I've said, he got relegated too; that's football. The first season the top division in tis a tough one. It's now accepted that other things also conspired against us in that season with West Ham. We've had other managers since who were more popular with budgets more than fair for the Championship, we are now in League 1.

Dislike Warnock by all means for his character, but he did hugely amounts more good than bad at United.

Got to agree and I hate Colin with a passion.
The trouble started when he had a few quid to spend.
