Fairly vanilla dispatch of a pretty ambivalent Millwall today under some comedy weather conditions. Both teams could do without the burden of extra cup matches but for us it was reassuring to see with some changes we can still push out a level of football which looks effective and pleasing, spurred on by the appearances of Jebbison and Bogle, both of them goalscorers.

First twenty minutes was fairly balanced if anything but with us bossing the possession and flair. We characteristically lacked a killer punch until the lively McAtee found Jebbison running on goal past a static, exploitable Millwall defence. Much of our threat was built on the right flank what with the return of Basham, always ready to provide a forward moving option and McAtee plus Bogle eager to support NDaiye, who began to feed the cockney cunts up their own arses. From this, Bogle gets fed and unlike Baldock who seems reluctant to capitalise in some instances, he cannoned the ball off a defender and over their keeper to double our lead. It was quite deserved and Millwall looked ready to fuck off down the pub.

Second half we had a couple of moments where we looked somewhat shakey and they came at us and then both teams made massive substitutes and duked it out weakly whilst it fucking siled down. It won't break their hearts too much to go out to the second top although in truth a determined non-league side could have banged them today so it saves their faces somewhat.

Davies 6/10: Not much for him to do to be honest but sweep up the trash
Bogle 7.5/10: Great to see him back and marauding up the wing to threaten. He's almost a winger isn't he? Well taken goal
Basham 7/10: Another one its great to see again, if not for his bursts forward to overload and press the attack.
Egan 6.5/10: Not really under much pressure so looked very assured
Robinson 6/10: Error free and solid for much of the game but face it, Millwall didn't exactly put the fear of shit up our defence
Stevens 6.5/10: Better game for him if not as advanced at times and still looking knackered. Great ball to Sharp late on though
Doyle 6.5/10: Again, much improved from last time out with more grit, chase and determination if a bit clumsy at times
Norwood 7/10: Steady and composed. Not really a big days work for him and he distributed the ball well
McAtee 7/10: Decent outing and a great pass for Jebbos goal.
NDiaye 7.5/10: Still an outstanding player, and possibly the most exciting one we've had for a few decades. Gerrimselt.
Jebbison 8/10: Another exciting prospect, one out of the mould of Sir Brian Deane if anything. Rangey, imposing and fucking lively, Quality goal. Lets see some more lad

Sharp 6/10: Typical Billy take down and unlucky to have it cleared off the line. At 58, he's still a bit of a handful, isn't he?
Berge 5/10: He came on and we went down to ten men. One burst down the wing but fuck all to laugh about. Game was over by then anyway
Baldock 5/10: Filled a gap
Coullibally (unmarked): Forgot he was at the club.
Brooks (unmarked):L Looks a bit of a unit

HJ&SMcC: 6/10: Decent win, but I doubt we'd be broken hearted if we were out. Next match, unless it's a home tie against one of the top PL six I'd blood the youngsters again. Frankly I couldn't give a fat fuck about the FA Cup. The promised land is Premier League shaped.

And well done the travelling support. Great voice way above the stabby, jellied-eel chomping, pearly-dancing, thumbs-in-lapels, Gawd-Blimey-Gavvnah, fackin-leave-it-ahht, dats-wew-ahht-ov-owdah, piano-playing cockney cunts who I'm sure had better things to do today, the soft-as-shite, bit-o-dis-bit-o-dat-I'll-nick-anyfin-me wankers.

The Premier League. Wankers have killed the excitement I used to feel. The 3d Round Draw on Monday dinner time Radio, Replays not decided by penalties, when non league teams beat a higher league team, it actually felt a shock. A Manchester United / Liverpool/ Arsenal/ Man City / Chelsea final is all they want, to make more money overseas. Another bore fest. Fuck off you money grubbing cunts.

Cheers pommps. Short, sweet and spot on.

Nice to see us win at a canter and totally control the game, rather than going in front and then dropping men back and defending like the Keystone Cops.

UTB !

Agreed. Also, didn’t the 4th round draw take place around 5pm on the Saturday evening of the 3rd round matches finishing ?

Sure we used to listen on the radio coming home from away FA Cup games ?

Spot on again dude...... sorry I'm still laughing at the last paragraph 😂

Milwaah improved when Cooper came into their defence... I'd be happy with him in our defence.
On and I thought Berge was ok when he came on with the game already won.

There used to be many crap games in 3rd round. Fact that they are televised now just shows to an audience how crap they are. Previously you heard the result and thought that must have been a reight game backed up by 5 minute highlights on motd.

Pommpey. You really should write a novel. Your turn of phrase is brilliant. Wish I could write like that.

Good review and it's all a bit 🤷‍♂️ isn't it. Especially with a right old ding dong going on in the league.

Are you after a reaction with the berge banter, now that no-one is upset by your Norwood scores anymore?

Sorry but I love the FA Cup (maybe showing my age). In the League we up ,we come down ,same old same old. But get to the later stages of the FA Cup ,nothing like it . And I’ll never forget the Semi s in my lifetime.
Bring it on!
I'm with you. I actually prefer no replays, they are fucking waste of time. For me it would be finish on the day for every cup tie. And who the fuck wants to have to wait till Monday for the cup draw

Not at all. Norwood is finally doing his job, instead of showponying long balls and losing the midfield contest. For the best part of a year now, he's been a worthy player and ... strangely uninjured.

Berge however is surfing on a small wavelet of 'he's returning from injury' which to some is nothing more than a ripple. For all the 'helluva player' nonsense he's still failing to live up to any reputation or transfer fee and coasting through games. We barely felt his absence yesterday and when he came on, he created a gap rather than enhanced our on field presence. Yup, some will get some tumescence over his late run onto a long ball, but is it anything anyone else couldn't have completed?

There's nowt special about Sander Berge in this team. Unless he shacks hissen and plugs into what 5-3-2 actually means and what he can do he's gonna continue to be a fairly useless asset in a formation where the midfield is a critical component. With some tasty games ahead in our run in, you'll see how much as we try to maintain that air gap from the chasing pack and challenge Burnley for the title. And there are players in our team who cost a fraction of what he did who are far more worthy of a place in the starting lineup.

Bit of a nowt game really but a great confidence booster for Jebbo.

what more were you looking for given we were coasting and there was little work to get through?

Agree on all of your other marks, though I'd probably nudge Stevens up to a 7. Think he's been much better the last couple of games going forward.

Sorry but I love the FA Cup (maybe showing my age). In the League we up ,we come down ,same old same old. But get to the later stages of the FA Cup ,nothing like it . And I’ll never forget the Semi s in my lifetime.
Bring it on!
I used to take semis for granted - now I’d kill for just one more

The old 3rd round cup day doesn't have the same feel it used to have 50yr ago for me. I was so disinterested I forgot to watch the first 10 mins, saw there were about five changes from the last game. Got settled in front of the screen with a beer just in time to see Jebbo open the scoring and another one added a bit later by Bogle togive us a nice comfy cushion to take into HT. Not much happened 2nd half apart from substitutions and a monsoon like thunder storm towards the end. We saw the game out rather easily which does make a pleasing change to our usual 2nd half panic stations. How the hell are Millwau up in the top six? Surely it won't be that easy when we return for the league game in a few weeks. Cant really mark anyone lower than a 6 half the team 7 with a couple of 8's.

Still someone had to spoil the day so along come the Barcodes to once again go out to another set of lower league scrubbers, I don't suppose we will hear the last of that for a few weeks despite only 20,000 pigs turning out. Massive my arse.

I bet that last paragraph took twice as long to write down than the entirety of the other paragraphs 🤣

Spot on as usual, thanks, not going to waste any more time adding to what you have written. I saw the same game exactly.
Good to see Bogle and Jebbo get a decent run. Wouldn't mind seeing Osula/McB and Jebbo front 2 with Illiman behind in no.10. Drop a defender and try 4,3,1,2 for the run in. This in prep for our hopeful return to EPL. We won't get anywhere with 5,3,2 imo. Just score more than we let in, Kloppesqe!

Yeah. Let's ditch the system that's got us 9 points clear of the chasing pack at Christmas and try something totally different for the run in. Hope you're reading this Hecky and taking notes.

Comfortable win , never looked in trouble on a ground where generally don’t do too well .
Wall fans in agreement … fk me what’s the world coming to ??
Top mark’s yesterday go to Ndiaye , Jebbo ,Bash & Bogle , but all in all 1-11 were all good performances well done lads ⚔️

You missed the point, I said for the run in. IE after we look safe for the promotion to EPL. Not immediately. 532 won't work in EPL imo. We will not score enough goals. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I am sure many others feel the same as me. We have to prepare as soon as we look safe to go up.

Not seen the game, but didn't we tweak the shape yesterday.. Was it more a 343?..i'm just going on the line up and Hecky mentioning changing the shape.
