Reda Khadra

i watch the inside shirecliffe vids on youtube and it was noticable to me that reda didnt seem to fit in as well as the 2 city lads and he never looked like he was enjoying the training maybe it was a lot tougher than he was used to at brighton and blackburn

Really disappointed it's not worked out for Khadra because I was, like most of us I'm sure, really excited with his arrival. I think he suffered from the form of Iliman who has been outstanding and we don't play with a number 10 either and not sure we'd play Iliman and Khadra in the same team. We did play MGW and Iliman at times last season, guessing for whatever reason Hecky didn't fancy that combination and we've had McBurnie in top form as well of course. Maybe there are issues behind the scenes but I wish him well at Birmingham, pleased he's not gone to a promotion rival either. Hopefully we'll now see someone coming in, in time for the Stoke match but I have my doubts based on yesterdays interview that anyone will arrive just yet.

Also brought with him a reputation as being a bit of a Billy Bigbollox, and always looked like he was carrying a few extra pounds to me? May all add up with him not being Hecky's favourite just lately.

I'm sure if he's going we've someone better lined up to replace him, plenty would want to join at the minute with how we're going.
...but will their clubs let them go and are they good enough for us ? I think that makes a very short list, rather than “plenty”.

You mean the Man City lads have trained well and taken their opportunities and Khadra hasn't impressed enough to warrant selection for the starting 11 ?
Tally up the game time Khadra got compared to the 2 that came from the richest club in the world.

Our present circumstances have changed since his arrival with Brewster out long term & McBurnie currently absent - we now need an experienced striker to cover us for "leading the line" and I hope this is the first stage of getting one.

It’ll be over before the last game. We’ll have already missed out on the autos but secured play-offs which we’ll inevitably lose.

I do think he should have been given a chance down the middle to run at centre halves

Agree but I'm not sure he'd have been effective there either.

He was pretty similar to Olli Burke, plenty of pace, quite direct with quick feet, all the attributes to appear pretty exciting but like Burke he was only exciting because you hadn't a clue what he was going to do next, you really had the feeling that Khadra hadn't a clue what he was going to do either. The problem is, again like Burke, he had no composure and was almost always making the wrong decision, shoot when he should pass and pass when he should shoot.

In those cameo 5 to 10 minute performances he often looked promising/ quite exciting but consistently never delivered.

Don't buy that. Iliman isn't an experienced striker and Sharp can only realistically do 60 mins. Brewsters been out for ever and McB has only been bit part all season. Again. Shocking managerial prioritisation. Madine would have done and still would.

You have no idea how much I want that probable outcome not to materialise. Please be assured my pessimism is borne of experience. I want nothing more than to be up by Easter with new obscenely rich owners and a management team that can survive with comfort in the top flight.
What scares me is that failing this year is likely to see the unspeakables down the road returning to the top flight before us.

Agree with most of that, especially Madine on a short contract,he's got a decent championship pedigree.

hecky must have brought khadra in to play up front we dont do wingers i suspect his attitude plus the emergence of nidaye scuppered those plans i for one will be really dissapointed if we dont bring a striker in before the window closes

You know what’s gonna happen, last match of season, he will score the winner that stops automatic promotion. It’s the way it goes for Blades.

Teves all over again

Plenty would want to come to us mate, as I said. Doesn't mean they're any good though.

Is that becuase they are better players ?
Not when they first came. You can't show what you're capable of if you don't get a chance. Plenty on here thought McAtee was meh at first. You seem to be all in on 2 kids from City and blame the kid from Brighton for not doing it. He got no opportunities in his natural position. Whose fault was that?
