For the chance of poaching a goal in a 5 min period.

Hecky says we cant afford to carry anyone but realistically thats what we're doing.

And anyone who says we dont have any other options, Ndiaye can lead the line with McAtee as a false number 9

Since Sharp has come back into the team we have looked ironically 'less sharp' ....but papered over the cracks with some individual moments of magic from other players.

We all know we miss McBurnie, we need Olo fit more than ever but it is what it is. Anyone having a go at Billy wants to have a word with themselves in my view. He still has it in him, but playing every week for 90 minutes isn't likely to get the best out of him at 36, that's not his fault and I still think he'll play a big part between now and May.

Billy is a 15/20min impact sub at best, love the man, but he's just half a yard off the pace now, and can't do 90mins effectively anymore unfortunately.
But he's doing a job when we need him, as always.

He didn't get too much into the game tonight. And yet still had a chance.

In fact since the restart I think he's looked ok. Not spectacular but ok and scored 2.

For me it wasn't sharp that was the problem tonight. We didn't get a grip in the middle till the 2nd half. N'Diaye barely did anything first half either. And even in the 2nd, wasn't able to do what we know he can do.

Mcburnie when fit is deffo now the better option but sharp is not bad to have around. Still has his value for me.

i hate being critical of billy sharp. because its billy sharp, deserves a statue & he is highly likely our greatest striker of the last 40 years. but he is 37 next month. we do struggle for an attacking presence with him on the pitch. as you would with any 37yr old as 1st choice FWD. either father time has a caught up with ronaldo at 37

Another example of Hecky’s terrible player rotation. Look at Lowe. Not played for
Months throws him in and the injured again. Clark the same when he could have played Robinson. If he blows this god help him as his man management for me at times
Is baffling.Billy will run all day for the red and white…. Should he is a different story.

So despite a distinct lack of service tonight from a midfield getting overrun for an hour, Billy made their keeper pull of a decent save in the first half, put one just over the bar when lobbing the keeper secon half, before playing in Endavto cross at the death for the equaliser...and yet apparently...he didn't have a kick....

He did great job for us tonight. The formation was the problem tonight and the game changed when Jebbo came on with McAtee. Billy was far from being the problem tonight. Thought he did well.

Explain to me what makes you think that Ndiaye can lead the line? A role he's never played.

Billy had two big chances last night the Billy of a few years ago puts at least one of them away if not both. Sadly time has caught up with him he should not be playing 90mins every game over the xmas period.

Because of the lack of strikers, hes carrying us my friend
Which is why he suggest we play without him and us a false number 9 such as Macatee - which is what I’ve also said for the last 4 weeks

He shouldn't, but I think it's a case of needs must. McBurnie has a knock again, Jebbo's probably still regaining match fitness, obv Brewster is out longer term. Sharp's not been great but we need someone to put in minutes up top. Sure, we could play a midfielder (say McAtee) further up, but you're then putting more minutes on the entirety of the midfield per game, which may well result in all of them being more tired, getting injured etc

Sharp was never the type of striker to be involved for 90 minutes, so I'm not that concerned that he's struggling to affect the game.

What I am concerned about is him missing chances almost every match. He should have had at least 1 last night and missed big chances in the previous games since the break. Jebbison deserves a start based on his cameo at QPR.

You must have been at the game I was at :-)

The way his colleagues kept booting it high up to him for most of the game last night was laughable - what a crass way to waste a huge talent.
He should never be an aerial target man but that's how we treated him , making him battle for percentage balls with 2 giants on his back.
If those were Hecky's instructions to our defenders (boot it in the air straight over mf) he's clueless.
If they weren't his instructions , why did the team ignore him ?
Basically we lost the midfield from minute 10 to minute 65 and Hecky either couldn't see it or saw it but didn't change our shape or personnel until far too late , yet again.

I suspect much of it was down to the lack of options the defenders had but there seemed to be instructions to try and release the ball forward quickly to catch them in the counter

If we’re talking missed chances I give you Nunez at Liverpool, barn door with a banjo!
