WHO SHOULD GO IN JANUARY

Khadra - his loan isn't working for him, or us.
Jebbison - needs games to develop.
I'd also consider Osula's situation at Derby and whether he'd benefit from going somewhere else for more minutes.

Bring in a proper CF option on loan.
Somehow find the funds for a CM.

Would keep everyone else.
Bringing on Jebbo instead of Khadra to see the game out shows that Hecky needs to move both of these out.
Their wages might be better spent towards a grown-up CF on loan , which we DESPERATELY need.
Neither Jebbo nor Osula are ready , Brewster is out for a long time , Billy & McB suffer from frequent injury.
If we don't get a striker in January we are likely to throw away our hard earned auto spot.
Reminds me of the Beattie sale in January 2009 , the Ched thing in 2012 & countless other "typical Blades" tragedies.
C'mon Prince , don't spoil the ship for a ha'porth o' tar.

Baffling post.

At this moment in time the best window sounds like us not losing key assets.

I don't see us signing anyone unless some go. And it would be better if we don't lose anyone key.

I think many forget that when the squad is fit all fit we have enough options in the squad. Squad is getting healthier currently in general.

2 Gks
2 RWBs
5 CBs
2 LWB
6 midfielders 7 with Coulibaly 8 with Arblaster too.
5 strikers
5 strikers my arse.
Are you just looking at names in a list ?
Neither Jebbo nor Osula are ready to clinch us an auto spot.
Nor will Brewster be ready to do so until it's too late (if ever).
Billy & McB are predisposed to frequent & various injury.
And Hecky won't play Khadra.
We have ONE completely reliable striker - Ndiaye.
We need another in January.
Making TWO that we can rely on.
Which might be enough to have an occasionally fit striker on the bench.

Ok let's not forget its all about options, but I'll start the debate by offering Fleck.
As someone who needs moving on,and off the payroll, I'm sorry, but his time is up here at the lane, thanks for your service, but there's no way he can play with us at this level,he was a steal from Coventry and yes we have no doubt had the best out of him,but there's no place for sentiment. So I vote Fleck!

Too controversial for a first post mate.. Have a little lie down and a rethink..

Sell Khadra and buy some atmosphere for kop……….or sell Khadra and employee extra Security so no one leaves seat before final whistle. Everyone happy then

Out of interest where do you see 35m quid Berge in a few years? I'll bet anyone he's not at the same level as super Iliman.

Tool.
At no point have I ever said that Berge is worth £35m, neither have I said that he is better than Ndiaye (because he isn't), but we need more than one player to get promoted and our current team (which includes Berge) is 8 points clear of 3rd. Therefore I would suggest that we shouldn't be getting rid of any of our main players, but instead adding players in order to grasp this opportunity.

Unfortunately I see neither of these players staying at the lane for longer than this season. Illiman will surely go on to great things and Sander will play for a team higher in the food chain than us..... the plus side of Illiman leaving is that hopefully you and your obsession will follow him, and I won't have to read your toxic shit on every thread.

I'm wondering which clubs are going to offer Fleck and Stevens a top Championship wage to take them off us?

They'll go in summer.
I'm wondering why anybody would want to shift on 2 players with experience of promotion to the Premier league that still have a part to play.

IF we move anyone on it'll be Khadra if that's what he wants, but I still think he has a part to play even if it's a small one

Essentially to get some money in & free his wage up maybe for another CM loan. Fleck is playing 2 games and missing 4/5 no point in carrying him if you can get a buyer.

I didn’t think we will get anyone or anything for him though.

I accept that, but it's worth weighing it up against the experience these guys bring to the dressing room. We shouldn't underestimate the importance of this for the run in when the young lads might need it

stevens and fleck will be gone in the summer but both could be handy if we carry on getting injuries agree with others jebbo out on loan and khadra back to brighton hes not fitting in here

Fleck is on a good salary and is still a pretty good first reserve option for our midfield. And if fitness is his main barrier, then that won't help him make a move. Stevens does seem further down the ladder, but with so many fitness concerns on that left side, unless we swapped him out for someone in the same position, it doesn't help us. If we need to free up wages, swapping Khadra out, would be the obvious one.

No-one, have you not seen the CaptainMorgans injury list? Get a grip

Who said Sander was worth 35m? Who even thought he was worth that? Maybe Sander and his agent that agreed to it - but if the contract means we only have to sell at that figure if we want to keep him, but can accept 20m, 10m or even 5m if we want to sell him, then that's a great bit of business for us.
We put in a clause we no no-one will match, and he can't complain because he agreed to it.
Incidentally, if you had been in the room, would you have made the buyout clause lower, because "he's not worth 35m, make it 15m."

Is it just me or would Khadra be a good replacement IF illiman goes?

Agree, I do think we’d be fine without him though. Foderingham, Egan, Clark, Norwood, Sharp, McBurnie, Stevens (if he stayed), Baldock, JOC (around the training ground), Robinson you’ve got plenty of experience in there already.

If you can guarantee bringing player/s in with savings from wages then Fleck and Stevens. But with injuries, lack of form/remaining ability and large salaries it’s very doubtful there’d be any takers.

I don’t think there’s anyone else I’d be comfortable losing unless it’s a bonkers fee. Wouldn’t sell Ndiaye for any fee personally but I don’t know the clubs finances so I’m sure we’d have a price in mind we’d accept

Nobody should go until the season is over, things are looking good and it could wreck the squad mojo.
Callum Lang is the one I would like to grab off Wigan based on the other night.
Good call but he was only up against Enda.

Anyone an idea of how much it would cost to get Gyokeres in from Coventry. Personally I've no real idea, but guessed at £5m or is that no where near.
It would be a real a coup to bring the leagues top goal scorer to the lane.

You’d be looking more towards £15m-£20m these days. Coventry won’t want to sell him in January, seeing as they have a good chance of finishing in the top 6.

I know Coventry wouldn't want to sell, but financially could they afford to turn down a decent offer for him.
