Far too good for this league I really believe ,we play at 70% week in week out we win this league easy, complacency lets us down which gives us fans to have any negative beliefs we cant wipe to floor with any of this league has to offer.we play teams like burnley and beat them easy, were too good for this league it's as simple as that, we have an off day and play at 50%and make it a fair contest that's our problem at times, overall we walk this league too easy

We need to believe that we are better than everyone in this league, because we can not be at the races and still win and not many teams can do that in this league on a consistent basis.

Don't know whether this is a good or bad thing

We constantly play below our best but get results. Having the league's best away record is extreme proof of that - because we've barely had one genuinely impressive performance

So is it "sign of a good team" / "wait until we start playing well".....

... or proof that this manager can't get us playing to our potential and that we'll not get away with it all season

I think it's very much the latter but we're in a poor league that could well allow us to get away with it. More than anything it indicates a gulf in class and experience between us and most opponents

I would agree with this.

More often than not we look poor but can rely on the individual quality we have to dig us out; Ndiaye’s run for the first goal and Norwood’s free-kick for the second yesterday, for example.

It is some team we have this season. Who do we think makes the cut if we get promoted, also assuming we keep the side together, aside from the loanees?

I'd say the following would be good enough to build upon

Ndiaye
Lowe
RND
Egan
Anel
Berge
Norwood
Osborn
Brewster

Back up
Baldock
Fleck
Mcburnie

Need
Keeper
back up CB
Strong midfielder
RB
Striker

Realistically though only McB and RND are first team players.
They're the only first choices, for sure, but I think you can make cases for the others too.

Two crucial first team players - McB & RND

Three players who are good enough to play in the first team but not first choices - Osborn, Robbo, Fleck

A jury's out player, who has shown loads of potential when he's had a run of games, but hasn't strung many games together - Brewster

Absolute wildcard - Coulibaly

It's all about good depth and cover if we're serious about a title challenge, especially with our injury record.

Add in McAtee coming into his own a bit more now and I'm really bloody excited for the 2nd half of the season!

It definitely gives us more depth, but Osborn and Coulibaly aren’t even on the bench if we have a fit squad. Fleck is about done (sorry). Brewster will probably go down as one of the biggest transfer flops in history.

JLT is about the only one but I’d rather have Basham on the bench.

Bogle has the potential to play at prem level, IMO. Defensively he may be found wanting and will need to improve but certainly offers something in an attacking sense.

I think it’s also worth mentioning that even though we have some of our players back, they’re not up to full speed. When that happens, I reckon we’ll fly like we have at times this season already.

I don't agree with the too good for this league idea.

We're winning games because we consistently do enough. Have game winners. Play well in a set system. Have a good manager/coaches who have a clear idea of what they want. We've had a bit of luck as well, which doesn't hurt.

We also do a great job of scouting opposition and nullifying them. Both overall as a team and individual battles. You can tell a lot of work goes into this.

We play at 70% sometimes because we have Iliman doing devastating things out of nowhere. Realistically, we have three cheat codes in Anel, Berge and Iliman. But, our star boy is the most consistent.

It's worth noting that we're still missing ;

McB
RND
Robbo
Ossie
Fleck
Brewster
Coulibaly

It's some squad for Championship level
Fleck is probably a busted flush.
Brewster has proved nothing.
Coulibaly is as likely about right for Hallam as us.
The others I grant you.

Bogle
RND
Egan
Anel
Iliman
Berge

All prem players. The rest we should always try and upgrade on if possible.

He's been in charge for more than a season's worth of games and has had us in promotion form the entire time, including when we were in the midst of the worst injury crisis most of us have ever seen. When are we going to stop "getting away with it"?

I remember everyone saying this before that run where we couldn’t win for toffee, stay classy Blades, comments like this have a tendency to bite us on the arse.
I was beginning to think that I'd wandered in to porktalk by mistake.

Way too many people putting the cart before the horse here.

I suppose its just what fans do, whether we're top, middle or bottom. Speculation about the future is what we are always talking about, in the car home from the game,In the boozer, doesn't seem to be over the top to me.

By the way we'll piss the league this season 💥
