Blackpool offered Robbie Fowler about £500 quid a week, they clearly don't throw the cash around. Hill's agent can argue all he wants, his abilities are what they are - and those at United are qulified to judge.

I'm no fan - but I can't believe that his signing will in any significant way impact on the type of signings we're hoping for.

What concerns me is that quite a few people think we will have a start to the seaon like we did last season, bookies included, but the team is going to be so far removed from last seasom, that this season will possibly be just a transitional one. Fans at games are going to start grumbling as soon as we lose a couple of games against so called 'inferior' teams. A winter of discontent I reckon.

The start we had to the last season was done with a pretty crap team as i recall. Macca didn't start firing on all cylinders until october ditto for evans.

And even then, to comply I think we will see more of the likes of Tonne, McAllister, Philliskirk, Chappell, Whitehouse, Long, Kennedy and possibly Ironside rather than new signings.

DW mentioned Tonne and Whitehouse on RS this morning as probably going to be involved in the first team but that the other 2 who've signed as pros (Ironside is one) are not ready.

No! Our wages to turnover was 110% so there is a lot more culling to take place before our pot can be filled, even after accounting for the departures already announced
