The game time Egan has had in the last few years has been way too much and it’s shown on the odd occasion. The guy overall though is an absolute rock and won’t let anyone down, he obviously isn’t a bloke to turn down a friendly either like some of the lazy twats, a truly great professional.

Hecky needs to get much tougher with the Ireland manager, for Egan to play the full 90 in both meaningless friendlies is absolutely ridiculous.
Don't they have any other defenders? Managers such as Sir Alex would never allow this to happen.

Not to mention he has a young baby a few months old so he's been doing all that game time on minimal sleep

To be fair Hecky has planned for a couple of behind closed doors friendlies for the rest of the squad. Maybe he thought it would be better for Egan to play a first team game for Ireland than a closed door friendly.

Him playing two lots of 90 minutes is still a piss take though and you would think the Ireland manager would want to try out other Irish lads in his back line.

Playing Irish friendlies away from home is probably a blessing in disguise for Egan. Getting up to do early feeds and nappy changes, or playing footy? Your choose.
