Just seen a United fan getting pelters from both sides for going to Wednesday’s match yesterday.

Personally I couldn’t think of owt worse. Quite frankly there’s many downright disgusting things I’d rather do before I willingly stepped foot inside The Sty (derby-day excluded obviously).

Please tell me no one on here has ever lost their minds and done it too?

Wouldn't do it now, but when I was younger (7-10) I would go with my best mate and his Grandad semi occasionally when it was bring a friend day etc.

At the end of the day, who cares? He's an adult who can spend his money how he wants. As long as he's happy, whose arsed. I'd much prefer to go to a non-league match when United aren't on nowadays. People who let football rivalries take up head space every hour of every day are the angry werido ones.

Use to be very common in the older generation for fans to go to both anyway.

used to get free tickets from school in the early sixties
wasnt the segregation then either
but wouldn't go to hillsborough today unless Id had a tetanus jab and swine vesicular protection
Id only go now if I had insomnia as watching them is assured to cure it
I was nodding off when ever they went to Clinton Morrison on Sky sports news just for updates

Might be a generational thing, my grandad said he had plenty of pals who went to whoever was playing at home - they was limited in finances never had a car etc
He said he went a couple of times to the dark side - his pals used to say they had pride for Sheffield and weren’t bothered whereas he told me he felt ill in the blue ground but enjoyed the crack with his mates
when he first started taking me to BDTBL , t’other one was never suggested, which was good as I would have hated missing out being with him ……….

Haha at the risk of getting serious….

My Dad is one of my best friends and I love spending the day with him. He’s an Owl, always has been, but we’ve been to watch United together. I’ve been to Hillsborough with him as a child and an adult. I also live in London, so he’s been down for a couple of their games which I’ve also attended and we go for a beer before and an Indian afterwards.

I like football and there will come a time where he’s not here any more. I will be going again.

Despite attending a game at Hillsborough.

The main thing I can’t fathom is why would anyone care what games “JTurnz” has attended? Even more so, why does he think any other fucker would care? Not as important as you think you are sunshine.

In the past I’ve joined friends from other clubs in the away end there, and my dad took me a couple of times when I was a kid.

I’d not be all ultra about it if someone offered me a ticket, but it’s not exactly on my to-do list. Too bloody expensive and insufficiently interesting.

Each to their own.

Think a little nuance is needed. You don't have to slate the bloke rotten for doing summet he wants to do and hammering him on social media is unnecessary (although fully expected).

However as a Blade I really couldn't think of anything worse. Paying money to sit in a shit ground surrounded by people who hate my club is not my idea of a good time.

And they all smell.

I disagree. I love hearing and seeing which games other people are at. That's sort of what Social Media is for. It's exhaustively flexible. If you want to see what shoes other people are wearing, what they're having for tea, then you adjust your feed so it's full of that.

My feed (Twitter, Futbology, Untappd) is adjusted to be full of people who post what games they're at.

He pops up on my twitter timeline all the time. He does do some weird things.

I have attended a couple of pig games though. Free ticket from school so went with my pig mates. It was against Chelsea which explains how long ago it was 🤣. Emerson Thome was playing for Chelsea.
I was on Kop and about 20mins into the game I hear this reyt loud voice - "NAH THEN MATT YA PIGGY CUNT, WHAT YOU DOING HERE?".. ffs, cheers for that 🙄

Then a few years ago when Burnley won the Championship I went to the Burnley game. Company I was at had a corporate deal on so I went with some clients.

When the big leagues have to stop because your world class players are at the tournament, then it's OK to help out the smaller clubs from the Northern Premier or league one.

I wouldn't choose them, but I did watch the last 20 mins yesterday on the dodgy stick (hoping they'd concede) , how they didn't lose by 2 I dont know, they'll get murdered in the championship and go straight back down..

Lads I was out with last night said they were "fucking useless, but 3 points"

They want moore out..

You won't be surprised to hear the Carrier Bag Firm do not get involved in all this collective psychosis learned behaviour faked hatred bullshit.

I've even been to three SWFC away games (not at Bramall Lane)

Didn’t join in with them when they sang about hating United or whatever, did you?

I remember in the early 1970s autograph hunting outside the John Street player's entrance, a young lady was always there wearing a very long half and half scarf of red and white in one half, blue and white in the other half

The guy can do whatever he wants. The abuse he was getting on twitter for just going to a football match is terrible. Twitter really does showcase the worse in society, it's full of scumbags with an opinion they want everyone to know about.

Agree with that. It’s an absolute cesspit.

I can turn a blind eye to any abuse in these circumstances though. 👀

I'm in the middle of researching an article for The Pinch. Newspaper reports make it clear fans at the Wednesday home game on the particular day were groaning when it was announced that United had gone a goal behind in their away match, and cheering when it was announced Utd had equalised.

Zipwire Jnr got hauled along to a Wednesday match earlier on this season with his Wednesday supporting mother. Apparently he spent the full match sat in a seat, scowling, moaning and complaining and I received frequent updates via Whatsapp telling me how shit it was, and about how much he hated it. He's not been invited back since.

Most of the older members of my family were from the darkside.

My uncle was one of the older generation who went to both. My first game was actually Weds vs Wrexham in the late 70s. Soon after I went to my first blades game (possibly Gillingham) and the die was cast.

Up to him how he spends his time and money. But rightly or wrongly, your gonna get pelters if you put it on social media....

Absolutely weird behaviour going to the sty. Never get me going there. Been twice for two derbies, that's enough

I went there to see Pele play.
Does that make me a bad person?!

I do go to all of Club’s home games though - lost 6-0 away yesterday!

Let’s Go Sheffield - Let’s Go Club!

UTB & Slava Ukraini
