Mentioned at work today about getting an Oyster card instead of paying on the day and one of the guys was looking into getting one. He's on about parking up at Luton airport and getting the train from there. Can you ues an Oyster card as far up as Luton? If so, how much would it cost on the Oyster as opposed to paying cash?

Don't think you can use oyster as far up as luton, it's only on the london transport network you can.

Any ideas on how you can book more than one train ticket via the website? Can only seem to get 1 and friends and family doesn't seem to be available for these tickets?

Which would be the furthest north then whilst still only having to get one train to Wembley Park?

I might just suggest to him to park up in Harrow but just in case he doesn't want to I'd best give him another option!

PS - I'm assuming Saturday is Off Peak?

Watford, Chesham or Amersham are all on the same tube line, don't know about which main line stations are. Luton is a faff.as you'd then have to go into London to get out to Wembley and vice versa on the way back.

Yes, Saturday is off peak.

Anyone have a suggestion/recommendations for tolerable/decent B&B's either near Kings Cross or, at a push, even Wembley itself?

Thanks in advance :)

We managed to get a Travelodge triple room for £99 near Kings Cross. £33 each didn't seem too bad for a night in London celebrating or drowning sorrows. There were still some available this morning in the Royal Scot Travelodge near the station.

Thanks for the help mate. I'll just suggest he goes to Harrow as thats where we'll be going!

Booked with National Express direct to Wembley, departs Sheffield Interchange at 8.45am due to arrive at Wembley Stadium at 12.15pm, leaves 5.30pm or later if extra time and penalties and due to arrive back in Sheffield at 9.00pm though i suspect it will be later judging on the time it took to get away from Wembley after the Burnley game. Only £31.00 including £1.00 booking fee and £1.00 for optional insurance.

sorry but I have to say that particular hotel is fucking grim or it was when I stayed there 2 years ago.

£18 for Megabus. Leave Meadowhall at 07:00 and departs Victoria at 23:30. Gonna be a long day :)

I'd take note of that - Rodders made his fortune in the Hotel and Leisure industry in the South-West.

Oyster cards arrived this morning.

You get a wee plastic pokey to pop it in and everything...

Given that using public transport to get out of North Norfolk is an absolute ball ache at best, I'm just going to drive it and park at Wembley as it's easier, means I can't drink but if we win, I'll be cracking back to Cromer quicker than ever to get royally mullered :D

Have a drink get bollocksed by the time you get out of Wembley car park you will be sober LOL

I've got 4 train tickets spare from Doncaster to kings cross on the 26th , coming back on the Sunday afternoon. If you're interested please pm me. £30 each . Cheers

Dave, Would these be tickets you bought a few weeks ago when you expected your team to finish in third spot behind The Blades..

Not me mate I'm a merry miller , but my younger dafter brother is from dark side and yes I'm trying to shift em for him !

Cheers for the heads up Rodders, I'm not expecting too much from it besides being cheap. Besides I'm planning on sampling enough of the local nightlife to not really give a shit. :D

We're heading down by coach from Dronfield, leaving at 7 and heading to the torch. Think there may be some seats left at £26 if anyone wanted in

Quick question, regarding Oyster cards. We are thinking of driving to Watford - Carpenders Park. If I have read it correctly, the Oyster covers travel from Carpenders Park overground service, as it is a London commuter service.
Am I correct?
Thanks
