Khadra has barely had an opportunity, let alone one playing in his favoured role.

Personally I'm disappointed we've not seen more of that as he impressed a number of times last season.

If his lack of game time continues I wouldn't blame him and Brighton seeking an alternative come January if the deal allows it.

And BTW I'm not digging at Hecky as he sees training etc and obviously doesn't want to involve him more on matchdays. I just expected he'd get more gametime.
 
Last time I dipped into the poisoned swamp that is S24SU, Khadra was being lauded for scoring a decent goal and playing well.

Now he is being totally slagged off, and we have discussions about how shit Billy and Bash are - probably others too but can't be arsed to wade through the vitriol. And of course how awful the manager is.

Such a shame that with all the injuries, terrible players and terrible manager, we have inevitably slumped to the bottom of the league and are staring at relegation. I least I assume so - must go and check the league table later.

There's a difference in being completely utter shit to 'has been a decent servant for the club but age is catching up now. '(Sharp, Basham)

Having watched it back on the highlights, he probably saved us the point, look at the distance he made up. His intervention when the ball smacked against his arse was unintentional but at least he was there and was probably our defensive highlight of the day !.
 
Has been quite a disappointment so far for me. I thought he looked lively in his first few cameos, but in recent weeks he has been dreadful. I'm unsure where his best position is supposed to be. People are saying he came on at wing back so it's harsh to judge him, but with the state of the game at that point (11v9) he was essentially a right winger.
 
I think he started the season with enthusiasm and desire but we've knocked it out of him already. It's not a great reflection of his mentality though. We need to keep him engaged because he can be a big difference maker for sure
 
The over-reaction on here is quite something to behold. Nobody mentioning the fact that he had a more than decent game against Blackburn and very impressive sub appearances against Sunderland and Swansea. Admittedly he was very poor against Stoke, and as a brief sub appearance against Blackpool...but even then he managed an incredible assist to give McB a chance near the end. I know he nearly let Blackpool in at the death, but he did run the length of the pitch to block the attempt.

Cast your mind back Blades - JOC was absolute pants for his first 4 or 5 games, Bash was also very, very average in his first season and going even further back, I remember Bob Booker getting slagged off by nearly everybody on the kop. All of those turned out to be excellent players. Give the lad a chance - he's a German Under 21 international FFS - there must be something there. Remember how he played against us twice last year? He just needs a bit of time, a confidence boost, and finding the right role in the team to get the best out of him.
 
Its fine to question his performances and where he fits in the team. But writing him off, after a couple of duff performances. How many times have we seen a player turn it around, look at McBurnie after two years of bobbins. Not that I want to wait two years on Khadra to find his form. But really have you ever watched football. He is a talented young player ( for sure we saw him give us a real runaround last season), who is not a regular starter, having to fill in different roles, mostly in cameos.
 
I remember a lot on here were saying the same about JLT before he improved. Players have bad spells like the one Berge has recently had. RD has been nothing short of a disappointment, but to be fair he hasn't had that many starts. I agree with most that if he hasn't improved by January then if we can, he needs to go back - and I think he will because when players start returning he will drop even further down the pecking order.
 

I think most of the criticism of him is in response to people up in arms that he hasn't been given a chance in his natural position whatever that is

I've been pretty critical but only really because I can't get my head round some posters on here acclaiming him as the second coming when. Nothing he has done warrants that

Agree.....the exaggeration on here often make me laugh.

The bottom line is many players have strengths and weaknesses.
Play to their strengths and they look really good, play to the weaknesses and all of a sudden the same player looks really poor.

Been saying for years that Sharp is a bit like Keith Edwards, don't give him any service and he offers very little. No height or pace.
However he's still the best finisher at the club and the best penalty taker, set him up and he'll score but that's the issue, we need to set him up playing to his feet.
Where as N'Dieye can create his own chances, Brewster has pace so it doesn't need playing to his feet and McBurnie has better nuisance value than our other strikers.

Regards Basham he's never been top class. He's been lower Championship level, upper league 1 level most of career. Sounds poor doesn't it? However he's got intelligence, can play in most positions and has great stamina. So take the defensive pressure off by having other good defenders around him in a 5 and ask him to make runs into midfield and down the right wing and he all of a sudden becomes a really good player. However he needs a spell of games with the same defenders around him playing the attacking centre back system.

Regards Khadra the early signs are concerning but it far too early to write him off when he's hardly played in his preferred position.

We were chatting on the Kop how we looked a much better side as soon as Anel came on to the pitch and we all agreed a back 5 of

RND - Robinson/ Clarke - Egan -Ahmedhodzic - Bogle

would be far too good for this division. We all agree then after the World Cup if we can get a run of games with our best team
then we are the best team in this league and should end up as Champions. On paper the right hand side with Ahmedhodzic and Bogle is a very exciting proposition.

So although there are concerns....there's nothing to worry about just yet and the future still looks very promising.
If we can avoid bad luck with loads of injuries then I'm still very confident of finishing in the top 2.

He's got a similar build to Diego Maradona, stocky but quite small in height with short legs.
This has an advantage that he has a lower centre of gravity and helps him in tight spaces, so he needs to use it more, think he's be good at winning penalties.
 
I wonder if Khadra’s chance will come if (when?) Ndiaye gets injured….
Players can come in and out of form. Players can improve (particularly young ones).
In the Blackpool game he put in a few really poor crosses in a row. Before this game, if anyone had asked me, I would have said he crosses the ball really well based on previous matches.
Khadra could end up playing an important part in the season.

wide right?
he was given the ball in acres of space wide right in the opposition half on Saturday and conspired to create more chances for the opposition than he did for us.
he does not need excuses, he needs to grow A pair and go past people.

Hecky was disappointed that he didn’t take on his defender but kept turning back like Baldock does.
