I think its more about where we could be if not for some of these crap results against some crap teams.

I'm normally quite level headed but tonights approach, substitutions and performance have really made me cross.

so, 4 of the last 5 teams we played are in the top 10 of the form guide.

^ This is how a good blade looks at things, credit to you
It's not great, by any means, but it's not the end of the world and we have half our starting XI out.

I'd have been happy with a 0-0 as we dominated the second half.

And if no one had made a mistake last 5 games we'd be top of the league

Blame that app!

Only goes to prove my genuine point further

We're TWO points off top, not even 5!

Hang your heads in shame some of you
Fkin idiot 🤣

As I read this forum I see two camps. The doom and gloom camp and the keep the faith camp. I have been following the blades for a long time. Nothing fills me with greater pride than the Dave Bassett team in 90/91. Bottom of the old first division, well adrift, written off by all. Had not won a single game before Christmas. Turned it around after Christmas and stayed up easily. If the league had started at Christmas we would have been joint top with Arsenal. What guts, what character.

When you have followed a team for a long time, you get to know when you have a winning formula and when you don't. This squad is capable of so much more than what is being served up at the minute. Injuries have not helped, granted. However, this is a results game. You don't get points for hitting the post and crossbar. We have lost to teams that we should not be losing to if we are looking for automatic promotion.

We are still in this race but I fear that we will start to slide down the table. At the moment the winning formula has deserted this team. Lost to the bottom club tonight and threw away a 2-0 lead at home last Saturday. I got told a few weeks ago that I know nothing about football, by an arrogant individual, because my opinion differed from his. Maybe he was right. I have never managed a football team of any description, so let's leave it to those that are paid to do so.

Our capitulating form is from lack of squad depth. We've not been unlucky, and we're heading to where our current lineup is competitive - mid table.

I see it like this.

We're not a great side. We're a side in transition.

I thought when the season started we'd be in or around the playoffs. I was hoping that we'd see new faces coming in. Anel looks a quality signing but most are loans.

We have one great player and that is Ndiaye.

We have a mix of an aging side coming to the end of their career (Bash, Sharp, Fleck, Norwood, Stevens, Egan) and a load of young players (Doyle, McAtee, Jebbo, Khadra) and youth players who look way off.

We have players who are a a remnant of the failed EPL side (Brewster, Berge) and players who were squad fillers who either had really good patches or making up numbers (Robinson, Osborn, Foderingham)

We have players who had never really clicked for us (RND, McBurnie) and those who are terminally injured (Bogle).

We have a very piecemeal squad. Squads like these rarely go up. Certainly not automatically.

We've had a great start to the season but that's not a case of being much better than every other team it's about consistency. This poor patch is a mix of yin and yang, drops in form and a huge injury list impacts any team playing 3 games a week.

Players are having to play through tiredness and injury because there are no fit replacements for most of them. We're playing players out of position, trying to either adjust their shape to fit them in or expecting them to do something that isn't their natural position.

In circumstances like this, you'd expect a side to be flirting with relegation, but we're not. We need to limp to the world cup and start again.

I have to say, this is rubbish.

Name me one other team that has a stating 11 and then another starting 11 in reserve?

Squad players are there to fill gaps, not chasms. We are missing the majority of our defenders through injury, which championship team can bring in 4 defenders from their reserves that are the same quality as the missing starting 11?

Some folk on here... jeez.

kind've making the same point Nik. our first choice is comparatively dynamite, but whilst ever the chasms exist, I don't see a team noticeably better than mid table. which out last 5 performances have demonstrated.

We’ll be bottom 6 by Christmas if things don’t change.
