You do understand the concept of facts don't you? Do they not teach this at school?

He's played 277 games. More than a third of those he kept a clean sheet.

You appear to think a goalkeeper playing well for a shit team is a negative. Why would that be? More saved. More work. More action. Still played over a hundred games at this level.

Finally a good point, but then ruin it. Apparently the guy who hasn't played with our defence is worse than the young guy who has played with our defence once. But has only played one senior game in his entire life.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Davies_(footballer,_born_1992) Don't bother apologising. I really can't be arsed with people who don't understand the concept of facts. Have a nice life.

You do realise that wikipedia is not an official source of accurate data

And even if he had just played 220 games, you've reminded me that he's an international footballer.

Unlike Amissah who has played ONE senior professional game in his entire life.

As I've said, I think Davies is a better TECHNICAL keeper. It doesn't mean he'll perform worse than Wes. He's technically better at being a goalkeeper. You know, technical skills.

And yes, you're right. abilities do wain, but keepers less so. Much of it is mental. And he played for Barnsley and Stoke in the Championship.

Look, Wes has been brilliant for us, and the fact he's kept his place throughout would suggest to me that no one in training is bowling anyone over. He's not been great this season but he's been reliable. That is what I want to see from a keeper. Reliability.

Yes I do know. You might actually want to consider that I may know better than you do.

I’d be happy for you to educate me. Which technical abilities do you specifically feel Davies is better at?

Apparently he's a keeper you know. He's told us. Apparently that qualifies him to inform us that a keeper who hasn't played a single minute for us and far fewer games than he claims is better than Wes.
I'm incredibly happy to know he has absolutely no input whatsoever into the decision making process at SUFC and only on his FIFA computer game.

He's entitled to his opinion ,which to be fair is a valid one

Ball Handling
Commanding his area
Distribution
Catching the ball

Wes is a better shot stopper with a big caveat that on bad form he makes poor mistakes. We've happily not really seen him on bad form. Wes is also better in terms of sweeping, but also more reckless.

It's past your bedtime.

Great. We’ve seen that Wes is very accomplished at those things in recent games. When was the last time that Davies showed it?

How does ‘ball handling’ differ from ‘catching the ball’ by the way?

He hasn't played a single minute for us. He can't possibly have an understanding with his defence as Wes does. Obviously if it transpires Wes serves a ban I am fully behind whoever stands in, but I suspect you've never seen Davies play. I haven't knowingly and that probably stands for the keeper informing us how much better than Wes Davies is. If that were the case do you not think he would have overtaken Wes by now. Clearly the manager and coaching staff think he isn't, but hey, he has a valid point.

He thinks Davis is better than wes ,I think its hard to separate them
Apples and oranges

I think it’s impossible to say exactly how good Davies is.

If you can categorically say that Davies is the better keeper, having not played in so long, then you have more information available to you than I do.

You have absolutely no idea what technical ability means, do you?

Which defence does wes have an understanding with as its been changed every week and they looked like they had never met each other today

Maybe they will let Davis out of the cupboard he lives in to train with his team mates this week
So he can build up some understanding

I don't know which one is a better keeper I've never really thought about it but i m happy for Davis to step in and take his chance

Yet you are?

Let me clarify something, if both were fit I would stick with Wes because of his form over the last 18 months. Because goalkeeping is not all about technical ability. Remember George Long? Or George Willis? Both technically better than our keepers.

Trying to deflect won't help you. I think we all know what technical ability means, and if you.ve watched Wes over the last 2 seasons you'd know he has it in abundance. His handling has improved immeasurably over the last year. His anticipation, positioning, starting points likewise.

The ‘valid point’ you’re agreeing with though is that Davies is the better keeper. Not that it’s difficult to know who’s better

How many times have you seen Davies play?
Just to be clear I'm not agreeing with the poster but if he thinks Davis is better than wes he is hardly declaring that eating house bricks will make you big and strong or that a step ladder can reach the moon
Its a valid opinion as there is little difference between the two players skillsets

I am what?

You still haven’t explained what technical ability is.

Wes has until this seasons catastrophic injury situation has had a staedy formation to play behind even if the members of it have had to change.
You haven't answered my question as to how many times you've seen Davies play, and I repeat. If the management team thought he was the better keeper after all the time they've worked with him don't you think he'd already own Wes' shirt?

What does he have in abundance? An improving anticipation, starting point and positioning? Nice use of Google by the way.

Funnily enough as a manager of junior football for 15 years and FA coaching qualifications Level 2 I don't need google bud. You crack on you're a real keeper.
