I have to say, recent evidence (post Chedgate) would suggest, despite our lofty finishing position, we are not the 'form team' entering the play off lottery.
The majority of the 1700 at Exeter or the 6K ish at the beamback, (me included), would hardly describe us as being on the up going into the play-offs. My thoughts walking home from the Lane yesterday were that we would come back to BDTBL possibly 2 or 3 down after next Friday and as a result depart from the play offs with a mere whimper.
However, football as we all know can stuff such thoughts back down one's throat and I sincerely hope mine is the recipient of such stuffing come a week tomorrow...
Our defending needs to be a darn sight better than yesterday, despite when being down to ten men we played a lot better (other than the final ten seconds of the game). The ability is undoubtedly there within the team, or we wouldn't be where we are on 90 points, but my doubts lie around the mental attitude of some players and their ability to believe in themselves (which they appear not to do this past few weeks).
