A little spikey on the subject of injuries and contract extensions.

1. Lowe has done the hamstring he injured as a young player and had an operation on. Sounds like he's going to be out for a while.
2. In answer to the question " any of Clark Osborn or Stevens coming back on the left" a terse "No"
3. Sharp has started training again this week.
4. Negotiating contracts is not his job. It takes time to deal with them. If he had to deal with them it would affect him getting on with getting the team ready for games which are coming thick and fast.
5. He may have to consider changing shape, formation, positions in the continued absence of a lack of left side resources. Refers back to injury problems.
6. Respect for Warne and Rotherham they will be a difficult team to break down.

Seemed to lighten up when he was talking about team performances and spirit.

I thought the same thing when I watched it.

The tail who interviews him is a pain in the arse. Only a couple minutes on these interviews are spent talking about the match etc and for the most part it's about injuries and transfers.

"Sander definitely staying now, do you see that as a positive?"

What the fuck kind of question is that? He was hardly going to respond with "wellll, to be fair he's a fucking nightmare, can't stand him and I couldn't even flog him to Belgium, for now he's staying but January's round the corner so... fingers crossed"

The question was "are you expecting any of Clark, Osborn, Robinson, Stevens back **any time soon?
To which he responded "No."

In other non-press conference related news, the club released some footage of Jayden Bogle kicking a ball about in training on his own today so hopefully he will be back within weeks rather than months.

And hecky rightly calling out the lacklustre home atmosphere/noise

That is the demeanour of a man that has been told that Lowe is out for a long fucking time.

Does anyone know who it is that asks the questions in these interviews?

The guy asking the questions needs to think about something different to ask.

Every week same old questions., getting a little tedious now.

I think that was Giddings but could be wrong.

To be honest, he's asking the questions most of us want to know. We've got 11 out injured and very little knowledge on the timelines for their returns, information which would ordinarily be shared (within reason).
I didn't see any reason for Heckingbottom to be quite as prickly and agitated as he was.

I remember Wilder held a grudge with a local journalist for a couple of seasons because he dared question one of his selections (Lundstram I think it was). I thought that was overblown by him too.

Ok purely speculation but after watching again, I get the impression the shirecliffe sniper has been active again since Lowe's injury

No point Hecky being arsey about the obvious questions being asked - all fans are naturally interested + want to know the prognoses.
Even before Lowe's injury , we had quite a number of lefties unavailable.
It strikes me now that we should have recruited some cover on the left.
Hecky has now admitted he'll probably have to change from what has been a really successful formation due to lack of players returning from injury.
Some miscalculations have been made to leave him in this unfortunate position. Very frustrating.

We have 6 lefties out injured , not counting JoC.
It's currently the biggest threat to maintaining promotion form.
It's gotta be raised.
We're also short of defenders - we can name only Kyron as defensive sub , yet we were trying to send him to Tranmere after selling Lopata.
What were we thinking ?
Has Hecky been misled about the return dates for Clark , Stevens , Osborn & Robinson.
Personally I would have asked why no cover was brought in.

Didnt aee Anel in training video. Brooks with first team squad aswell

I reckon it's normal for players out on loan to train with us on occasions, but would we be allowed to recall Brooks now?

Brooks is a left footer, but he hasn't played much wing back. Nicksoen Gomis is also a left footer who should be closer to the first team now, but I didn't see him in that video.

Random prediction... Ahmedhodzic out against Rotherham.

Was touching back of his calfs against Dull.

Hecky grumpy not had his daily dose of Anel in training.

So he has tweaked his calf then, maybe postponing this weekends game if it happens might be a blessing in disguise.

Although what the fuck is going on with these injuries.

In context, the interviewer is asking difficult questions, which is good, if repetitive. The problem is that he is asking the wrong person!
The unusual job description fr PH was ‘football manager’. If the question is about football, ask Hecky.
If it’s about injuries, ask a medical specialist at the club. If it’s about scouting, ask the head scout. If it’s about contracts, ask the bean counters.

Of course Hecky will have questions and input about all these issues, but we will only get a watered down version if we ask him. He might not want to give away too much info to the opposition

His job is to manage the squad, pick the team and decide on tactics.

I am pleased that the BBC is asking the difficult questions, but I suspect PH is like me. He’s just frustrated that he is not in a position to answer things outside his remit!

Questions about the Academy, the training ground and the hotel are part of the same problem. PH has an interest but the real answers are further up the food chain.

He was a bit grumpy at the start but if I wasn't in the mood to front up to pressers twice or more a week I'd get shitty aswell. Same old questions week in week out.

Bit pissed he didn't tell him to listen and advise who was back on the grass though. Highlight of my week.

Thing is on the injuries, a number are out for a while.

X player out for 6 weeks.

Following week same question.

I mean, the answer is 5 weeks. But pointless going down the same line if question if that is how it pans out.

I agree but some players have been on the grass 'weeks' was Clark and Stevens injuries that bad? Hecky said they were on the grass 2 weeks ago.
