Max Lowe

There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism of anybody.
But we have a chunk of people who thrive on attacking anything they can find, urging them to be dropped or sold.
Same people who then criticise the club when the same players end up being sold and playing well somewhere else.

For me, Lowe is much better than RND when going forwards. Gets good crosses in. That's the key job for our LWB.
RND is becoming a bit of a beast at LCB.
Neither Robinson nor Clarke have (should that be has?) an easy job getting back in the team...

The 8 PL games he played was in a team who were on a major downward spiral. Nobody at that time looked any good. Expecting him to shine in a new team, in that situation, playing in a division higher than he had previously experienced is ridiculous and is a line of thinking I will never understand either. There are often extenuating circumstances to a players performance, things aren't always that black and white.

It's the sort of thinking that has seen many previous players written off before they've had a real chance to show their worth.
There is a difference between Lowe’s level of PL performance and that of other players that season, e.g. Bogle.

Again, it’s not about writing them off for all time. It’s recognising how it was at the time.

Granted Bogle started off well but his performances dropped significantly after a handful of games. I remember having a discussion on here with someone who said signing him was a waste of money as he wasn't up to the required level.

I agree that it's possible to recognise how a player is currently playing. There is a difference between that though and saying "player is terrible", which appears to be the go to claim on here when posters are unable to think beyond the very basic.

He's been really good past few games in my opinion much better than anyone else we've had there for the past two seasons

This image on this tweet seems to show him running towards Norwood after his goal against Blackburn

And this replay shows him turning back towards his goal when the rest of his team mates are celebrating

Someone must have then convinced him to join in

Ah yes, it must’ve been that someone convinced him to join in, he didn’t really want to. You can definitely tell all of that in the snap shot you’ve managed to find there.

This always makes me laugh when I see people say a player doesn't look like they want to be here when they're playing badly, but suddenly they look like they want to be here when they're playing well... No shit! Players playing badly lack confidence and look down/miserable.

Of course when things are going right they are going to look happier! Against Watford it wasn't his lack of effort - He tried multiple things that just didn't come off, so of course he looked miserable.
So was he playing shit already when he was being brought on as a sub? Or about 2 minutes in to him playing in that game?

His body language was poor before the performance and i was worried.

On record, i actually backed lowe coming back, i thought he’d be amazing like he was at forest and thats coming good now.

But i do think he was unsettled by the transfer rumours and bids from olympiakos, i think now thats gone he has got his head down

We owe him nothing.

A few half decent performances doesn't mean we should start kissing his arse.

He's certainly improved for sure, but I'm still not convinced his heart is here.

There seems to be a real togetherness about the side this season, but I still see Lowe on the periphery of all of that.

Having said that, there's nothing stopping that from changing though and I hope this run of form he's in can continue.

Has anyone said differently?

Absolute nonsense, have you based this on your extensive knowledge of his behaviour in and around the players and the training ground or are you just making stuff up to fit a narrative?

Goals, assists and clean sheets. Don't really need much else.

I had my doubts about him at the start of the season and could not see where he was getting his rave reviews and good stats from. He is now however getting better with every match, surely he now knows our systems, his team mates and has developed self confidence as a result of this.
still not as good as Enda in his prime but definitely provides a firm foundation to build from

I'm really not trying to rubbish any of his contributions this season in any way, shape or form. As I said, he's really improved and I hope he can continue that moving forwards with more goals, assists and clean sheets. We all want him to succeed.

I have no knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes and his relationship with the rest of the squad, I was just voicing an opinion on how I personally see it. It was never intended to be fact or gospel.

Don't think Enda was ever PL standard in his prime, more like high Championship standard in his prime.

Think it was about his fantastic partnership and understanding with O'Connell.
Jack would overlap him and at times we virtually has 2 wing back options bombing down the left wing. The opposition full back didn't stand a chance.

It was the "overload of the wings" tactic that made our players so effective.
With Jack O'Connell out of the team, Enda doesn't look the same player., still good obviously but far from great.

Think a few people owe this lad an apology. Been really good these past few games. Likes a tackle and has a bit of pace. The left back spot is his now.
You have to remember about what he said when he went to Forest first.
Hes playing well now, hats off to him, but, still.
