Notes from Hemmingham. Key points;

1. On Berge he's relaxed about transfer speculation " theres a number there I can't do anything about" -presumably the £35 mill buy out. So seems he's staying for now.
2. On why he didn't make more than 2 subs against Boro, said making a third would lead to a change of shape?
3. Says 5 subs impacts more on defenders and wing backs as normally forwards would be changed because of the demands placed on them. Interestingly makes no mention of midfield. Those coming on have to be up with the pace of the game as a lot of late goals conceded. A general observation rather than a reference to Boro's second goal.
4. Keeping Osula and Jebbo for now but there is interest in them going out on loans.
5. Sharp out tomorrow. Ankle still swollen can't do scan yet. Suggests an injury.
6. Osborn out for 2 weeks. Clark back in a week. Bash fit for selection.

Finally in other news Oli Mcb says;

"Feel best I have felt, feel fit and strong, I have put weight on and I am as fit as I remember."

Sits back and lights blue touch paper. :)

It would be nice to watch a pre-match press conference this season.

Unfortunately, I'm precluded from doing so by the sound of some sausage-fingered cunt incessantly tap-tap-tippidy-tapping on their fucking keyboard.

Sit the bastard at the back of the room and away from the microphones, where they can button-bash all they like, and give me some fucking peace.

So why was McBurnie so off the pace and just jogging around?

We'll all I can say is that he must've been an absolute shambles of a man if he thinks he's fit now!!!!!

Very good news, if true. He could have been a big loss if he’s out for any length of time.

I'd ignore everything Heck says on injuries.
Very rarely proves to be accurate. It's usually a negative surprise.

Would be worried if both Jebbo and Osula went out on loan as it would leave us looking light in out and out strikers. Sharp may be at that stage of his carrer where injuries become a regular occurence and Mcburnie has contibuted hardly anything for 2 seasons and is also injury prone. That would just leave just Brewster. and could easily be in a position like last season with limited striking options

Oh dear oh dear , some very concerning aspects to this presser.
Clearly Hecky loves McB + rolling him out as the player to speak just smacks of "I don't care how half-fit or useless he is , I am gonna play him". It strikes me that Hecky's love is blind or he's under orders from the club to get something out of the £ that everyone knows has been wasted.
Billy rolled his ankle after 10mins but we let him play on , are you mad , Hecky ? Allow him to exacerbate his injury instead of getting him off + packing it with ice ?
And if McB is so good & fit , you've 2 strikers on the bench - something very odd about Hecky's logic here.
Hecky's explanation of subs used + not used doesn't make sense. He talks about subbing strikers & defenders but noticeably omits midfielders ... the engine-room (on a hot day) ! So why stand Khadra up then sit him down ?
Some very woolly-headed stuff there from our manager.
NB re strikers
Ndiaye is ok , Brewster is unproven with us , McB a disaster & Billy is likely to sustain injuries.
We should not contemplate letting out Jebbo or Osula on loan.

The points made above make far more sense than anything the manager has said. IMHO that is a worryingly regular occurence.

The McBurnie comments are very concerning, was hoping we'd ship him out and sign another striker but it looks like he's going to get game time

Jebbison did the pre-match press conference against West Brom then didn't make it off the bench. Don't read too much into who we send in front of the cameras.

And Khadra before Watford (played about 20 minutes), McAtee before Millwall (didn't get off the bench). The idea that we'd give opposition a massive heads-up as to who's starting in the next game by shoving them in front of the media is pretty laughable really. It's probably decided who's doing it weeks in advance so the players can be adequately prepped for it.

I can understand Khadra and McAtee being on media duties for those games as they'd just signed but I agree with your wider point.

How would bringing Doyle on for Fleck or Khadra for Whitney require a change of shape?? I like Hecky but his subs are as bad as his explanations!
I took the comment as him seeing Doyle as a CAM, which is quite worrying if true, it means we have at least 6 on ours books for 2x slots.

Good to see McBurnie doing some work

In case you prefer to listen to PH

You seriously think Hecky has any input or cares which players does the press conference?

That's down to the press officer, if it was down up to the manager there probably wouldn't be a press conference at all

It looks to me like Hecky really doesn’t wanna be interviewed & is fed up of talking about injuries.

I’m not confident that Hecky is the man for the job at all. Hope I’m wrong

Clearly the management team think he is fit, but not yet match fit and ready to start.
I still think he will be an important part of this season, despite all the negativity around him.
He is one of our players and has had a lot of bad luck as well as making some bad choices, but until he fails to produce positive contributions in the first half of this season, then we should support him.
Constantly knocking him is of no use to him, the team or indeed anyone.
