Max Lowe

I thought Lowe was laughably bad in the premier league and just as bad last night but he had a good season last year. He earnt another chance and that has to be more than one sub appearance.
In his defence,he had done enough pre season to be selected as LWB against Watford. It turns out that even with two more injuries to defenders at the eleventh hour and moving Clark to an unfamiliar position on the right side,he was still overlooked for someone who now looks more at home playing ‘walking’football. If i was Lowe i would have been pissed off too, unfortunately, when he came on he played like he was and that isn’t acceptable. However, even though he hasn’t got much to beat he is still the best LWB we have got.

What exactly did he do to give off the ‘pissed off’ or ‘don’t wanna be here’ look?
A professional footballer on thousands and thousands a week can't manage to keep a ball in play. Also for the goal he could have attempted to slide across to block the cross.(Mark Duffy picked up on this) Made it clear last season he wanted to sign permanently for scabs.

Over hyped footballer by our fans just because he's still a good age, has pace and had a few good games in 3 years for forest. Makes Bogle look world class.

Not sure but I think passing it out of play rather than getting it to a teammate seemed rather odd.

He was shit. I’ve never been impressed with him. But those two things are absolutely nothing like looking ‘pissed off’ or ‘don’t wanna be here’.

Saw him at Oakwell t’other week, looked sluggish and a bit chunky I thought.

Are we really judging him on half an hour, FFS?!
Some of the comments on here are embarassing.
I think Cooper and Hecky might be slightly better judges of a footballer's ability than us lot on here

But still can't get infront of Stevens and RND with Hecky 🤣🤣

I think a lot of managers like to start the season with their senior players. They either perform and keep their place, or the manager can drop them without other players questioning their decision making. A manager needs his players to be of the general belief he knows what he’s doing. And players will accept being dropped more easily when they know deep down inside that they’re playing shit. For example, if Fleck’s looking good in training, most of his team mates will expect him to start. If he then plays shit in the next two or three games, no one raises an eyebrow if he’s benched.

Seen enough of him in previous games to not expect much when he came on and he delivered to that expectation.

For us to be rejecting 3m or whatever it was we had to be damn sure he'd be first choice LWB this season and there's just no way we could be

Good transfer window but this was a shocking mistake

Which we’d have all been furious about 6/7 weeks ago should we have sold him. He was many people first choice LWB going into the season.

I don’t rate him, however, with Stevens seemingly getting injured everytime he kicks a ball lately we probably need to keep him for the time being

It’s a little inexplicable he can have been so bad so far.

Watford you can part explain given coming on as a sub isn’t the same as starting and it can take time to find your rhythm.

Yesterday was a genuine missed chance. If he was tearing it up for Forest, this should have been an opportunity against a changed WBA to make his mark.

That said Stevens is picking up injuries. Norrington-Davies may need to occasionally fill in at LCB so we need him around.

It probably transpired that we didn’t pay very much for him and weren’t offered very much either. Because of our abject performance I’m sure I read that we may have paid as little as 4.2m for the pair. If we got offered 1.5m to 2m then you can imagine that’s why.

That said, the body is probably needed more than the cash.

It might just take him a while to get going. Before going in on another United player, suggest we just execute patience. One short sub appearance and one game in an unfamiliar system with plenty of new players are not enough to write off someone especially when they came off a decent season at this level. Likewise the relegation season of which he was a bit part player, didn’t so anyone a service.

Be gone, with your reasoning, balance and understanding. BOO, BOO, BOO, BASH, BASH, BASH is all that there's time for here.

I agree. Player returns to club after a year away, comes on as a sub in an abject performance, then starts in a new system that they're all less familiar with. All whilst returning from injury. And whilst presumably not feeling particularly wanted (having being loved at their loan club). They must be wank, useless.

Give it time.

He’s not arsed… get rid! Cannot be that poor. His passing has nothing to do with system. Woeful!

Couple of things:

We don't know that he isn't arsed.

If he was, and wanted out, I'm not sure being deliberately poor would be the best way to angle for a move?! That's how you end up on a season loan at Falkirk or sumat.

Last season he showed that he can make good runs, get into good positions, play a cross or two and be half decent in possession. I don't think we should be writing the lad off yet. Enda, for one, is on a continued decline. At least in Lowe and RND there's age on their side and room for improvement.

We shouldn't have only sold him, we should have sold him and signed a new LWB, like Maatsen who went to Burnley

Most people on here wanted to keep him as our main LWB or sell him for 5m plus. I was in the minority wanting him gone no matter what.

How do you know how he played last season? Did you go to forest games? Overhyped by our fans.

On his way back from a long lay-off. Had 2 poor games in games where everyone had poor games.
He had a decent season at promotion winning Forest. I don't think he needs to be in the bin just yet.
Agree

But let’s slag him off and write him off anyway
