No grafikhaus, not when I have been in a relationship (like Ched was supposed to have been) or when married. It's called being an adult and it's being a man.
Wouldn't want it done to me so wouldn't do it to anyone else.
I am certain I saw something that talked about Ched moving into a house in the Ecclesfield area with his mrs (not sure if he is married or not - maybe his partner) prior to this all coming out.

A lot of the stupidity that surrounds Ched is the fact that he is a pro footballer and will get tarts throwing themselves at him - so it takes a strong moral compass to resist but it also takes a very stupid person to get themselves in a position to be accused of such a thing that is so potentially career threatening.

As far as I can see he shows they same lax attitude to improving himself on the pitch - nothing he does suggests he has the mental capacity, fortitude, drive or ambition to become a successful pro footballer. He has a few good attributes, for sure, but the overall package is well short of any class. I am not talking about an ability to perform amazing feats of mental agility here just the capacity to learn from others, improve, read the game (the best players have this ability as an inate gift - like Rooney e.g. but you wouldn't want him in your University Challenge team - would you?)

As for being more at his appropriate level in Division 3, maybe he could be - but he seldom, if ever, heads the ball, nor gets to the front post, nor does he get in where it hurts and he is on a premiership wage structure. He should be improving quicker than he has and not using the previous instability in management as an excuse for poor form. Maybe DW can get more out of him through his man management skills but there is no way Ched should be on anything like he is given the clear lack of talent he displays.

So, if CE was single at the material time and, after a night drinking with a young lady, they both mutually agreed to go back to a hotel for some hot carnal action, would you consider CE's behaviour to be "stupid" in that circumstance?

No Darren, IF they both mutually agreed. However, he has to consider carefully the potential ramifications of such actions based on who he is and what he does for a living becuase he is more vunerable to exploitation than other members of the public who do not have such a high profile job - goes with the territory.

Professional footballers have to play by slightly different rules. Maitaining optimum levels of nutrition, sleep, keeping weight down, staying fit, not getting yourself caught in compromising situations etc. If you want to play football successfully over a long time and get paid for it you have to keep this in mind.

It sounds like Ched and his mate got a chance to get laid at the end of his night out. The missus wouldn't find out and in normal circumstances wouldn't have done.

Whatever happened in the hotel will be outed, but Ched has done something that many drunken blokes would want to... Single or in a relationship.

Shouldn't of been a biggie, but turns out that theres a rape claim.

Sure he was morally wrong, but until he's proven guilty then there is nothing else. Find me someone who doesn't break their own morales or standards once in a while and therein you have a robot.

The reports suggest that the woman was very drunk, which does make his behaviour a bit foolish. You are always open to allegations of rape if you have sex with a woman who drunkenly consents but then, when she is sober, believes she did not consent.

Mind you, if there is evidence she was very drunk, then that improves CE's chances of getting off as his lawyer will have the great point that he does not have to call the victim a liar. He can quite validly argue that she did consent but that she was so drunk that she can't remember so doing and genuinely, but mistankenly, believes she did not consent.

If I were a betting man, and from all the reports I have read, mu money would be on Ched on this one.

I fail to understand the fondness footballers have for inviting their friends and colleagues to join them in a nomp. If they want to socialise after work try Go Karting. I think of the blokes who work with me and I cant say the thought of seeing them spuds deep in the same bird as me gets my juices flowing.

Maybe its me?

Does the report state that he was drunk?

Another angle against him could be that he plied her with booze to make her more willing.

As for sharing birds in a romp, why not.

Leaving aside Euclidian Geometrics, its an idiomatic expression meaning 'trying to do the impossible'.

Its sometimes used to describe an attempt to construct a cogent argument using facts and theories which do not support that argument at all.

It happens a lot on here, doesn't it Dunc?

If youre talking 9/11 you may be right. If youre talking kidnapping Shergar, youre wrong.

Er, no, that is not a worse crime (from the victims point of view) than being raped.

That depends on how grevious the injury was.

GBH can cover a wide gamut offences, from simply breaking the skin with a knife, to crippling someone for life, or possibly even knowingly infecting someone with an STD.

If i had the choice of being fucked against my will, or being left paraplegic, i know which i would consider worse....

Depends what you mean by "plying her with booze". If CE were to say "I really wanted to get in this girl's knickers and I thought if I bought her a few drinks, she would be more willing and, lo and behold, after 8 Bacardi Breezers she was well up for a 3some and maintained her enthusiasm until me and my mate had done the deed", then that would not be rape - as long as the young woman voluntarily consumed the drinks.

On the other hand, if she thought he was buying her cokes and he was secretly putting double vodkas in each one that would be a different matter.

But what if she consumed a ninth Breezer and was completely incapable of any rational thinking, even though she 'voluntarily' went back to the room?

This is what I see as the grey area.

My mate used to work as a paramedic and every weekend he used to get drunken girls claiming that they'd had their drinks spiked. Most of the time I bet it was bollocks.

In many ways it depends what she's drinking. If its bacardi breezers then its more straight forward, but if she's drinking Bacardi and coke then there is this...

Ched/ his mate go to the bar in yates'

Ched: 2 bottles of Corona and a bacardi and coke please boyo
barman: Its 2 for one on bottles pal so do you want 2 or 4
Ched: 4 mate
Barman: Nice one and double bacardi is half price, do you want single or double?
Ched: Not sure mate, its for that lass over there
Barman: Shall I just stick a double in then?
Ched: Yeah go on then (don't want to seem tight)

If she asked just for a bacardi and coke, does he then have to tell her that its a double? Even if its plastered on signs around the pub "half price doubles on all spirits"

No. She is voluntarily consuming alochol which the law assumes everyone knows lead to the lowering of inhibitions. The amount you are given is irrelevant.

CE is ok : if

1. He did not deceive her into thinking she was not drinking alochol;
2. She wasn't unconscious when he had sex with her; and
3. She agreed to have sex with him (even if she would not have agreed were she not drunk)

For whatever reason the club don't seem to want to play Ched until the trial is sorted. The court case is unlikely to be resolved before the New Year. Then if he gets sent down he is unavailable and if he's innocent there will be some time before he is match fit. Doesn't his contract run out next Summer in which case he will go then on a free?

If all this is correct then why are we discussing Ched ? At best he might feature in a few games towards the end of the season. Am I missing summat?

He has been injured not ignored. he is now back and has just played in the reserves so it could be an actual issue in the next few weeks if DW thinks that he can offer something to the team. No opinion from Kenilworth needed here :-)

If hes fit and avaialable for selection and I was confident that he'd cope with the pressure. I'd play him, or at least he'd be on the bench.

I would expect that he would make his comeback in a home game - possibly a cameo off the bench against Huddersfield on Tuesday.

According to Danny Wilson on Football Heaven tonight he'll probably be in the squad on Saturday, having completed 70 mins. for the reserves the other night. And, in the same interview, BT has 'been in touch but is nowhere near fitness at the moment' (that's Scottish football for you), but certainly doesn't seem to rule out the possibility of a return...

Funny looking at this thread again. It is nice to be proved right but it is also funny to see some of the comments from some 'educated' posters :-)
