Anyone know much about this lad?

I think he scored a hat trick (or nearly did) mid week in the reserves alongside Beattie, Taylor and Williams.

P.S. Is he the son of a certain Mr Dane Whitehouse or relation?

No relation. He must be knocking on the door now, should have chucked him in yesterday alongside Doyle, couldn't have been any worse than Monty

Give him a chance in first team while Macdonald's out. A box to box midfielder (a think) and was the captain for the academy for last year's fa youth cup final,

Well if Macca is not fit for Wednesday night then surely worth a punt?

Plus if Willo is carrying a knock from yesterday.

He's not quite ready yet, but hope he proves me wrong. Don't forget that him and Terry Kennedy are a year younger than Maguire. Both of them have great potential and excellent attitudes though. If (fingers crossed) there's games at the end of the season which we don't have to win, I'd definitely give them a run out.

I also rate Matty Harriott, but he's not quite pushed on as much as the others. Still plenty of potential though.

And...no relation of Dane.

He still looks a bit 'slight' to be.

If he grows a bit more and bulks up, he can definitely be a first teamer in the future.

Shame he is not ready.

Seemed to be a bit of a goal scoring midfielder if the Stoke game is anything to go by.

Hopefully not too long before he makes the team.

Well Montgomery is certainly not ready and never will be. Why do we always default to mediocrity? We should be asking: "Why on earth should we select Montgomery?" rather than looking for reasons not to select others.

Given the pressure on the team at the moment and the current form I'd suspect that the message being given to the likes of Kennedy, Whitehouse and Harriot is to keep impressing and their time will come, possibly on the bench on Wednesday if Williamson is out. I'm a little surprised that we haven't loaned any of them out but if they're only 18 then I guess that makes some sense.

I used to play these Vinyl discs that occasionally got stuck and kept repeating. some DJs still use these and move them back and forward to make the same sound. if someone is pressuring you an got hold of your head try to let us know and the forum will send out a rescue party.
Foxy that may have been his plea last night and you missed it!

On to the thread subject Whitehouse seems to be a great prospect but only use him if ready lets not rush him.

But it was on subject. If the choice narrows to Mongomermy or Whitehouse, then the latter should play. Bang on topic!

Well I say try him from the bench on Wednesday or something.

We need midfielders especially with the fitness of Macca and Willo in doubt.

Elliot is a good player and is one I'd certainly tip to be in the next batch through to the first team.

He tends to arrive in the box just at the right time, has bags of energy and like someone else mentioned in this thread never stops.

He'll be a future captain somewhere if he continues, hopefully with the Blades.

One thing we'll need at this stage of the season is experience, mixed with the younger members of the squad.

A mixed bag, then! Still, he has some positive qualities, unlike that oaf Montgomery, who was a complete liability on Sunday.

Mediocrity - Don't you just  it?

If you spent less energy trolling and more concentrating on our youngsters you may have had something a little more worthwhile to add the the discussion?

Not sure we should be gambling on a young lad at this stage of the season. Maybe take him to a few first team games but be wary of lobbing him in

I was recently told by a Blade (chinese whispers style) that Kennedy is supposed to be "our little secret", and he's "the next big thing" but we're basically keeping hold of him until we can get a Naughton-esque transfer fee for him (or failing that he'll stick it out with us like Jagielka before being sold for a pitiful amount)

I'm yet to see him play, but how does he compare to Big Harry?

I saw him three times in our Youth Cup run. He's a great prospect. Far better than our soon to be ex-local hero.

You tried to think of something ese, but then sadly failed. If I were Foxy I'd ban you. You offer nothing to this place. And the shame of it is you're not daft. You're just determined to act it - and that is really sad.

I'm actually determined to see a Blades team return to the proper football we were all so very proud of in the days of John Harris, TC et al. I have no time for anyone who disrupts or delays that process. Hence my heartfelt disapproval of Mediocrity and it's evil twin Hoof and purveyors of each such as Semi-Pro, Quickfix and The Maestro.

You flatter me. I am daft; So are you. The evidence is, I fear, irrefutable.

Ah, OK I get it now. You've spent more than 1,600 posts spread over 3 years of your life on the same single subject in an attempt to convince 6 (I've lost count) managers that they were wrong. A bit of free advice - you've failed miserably. Try something new?

I think I'll be as disappointed as you to see Monty run out on Wednesday, but either way daft doesn't cover it.

Another good prospect, but Harry stood out more as he was bigger and looked literally head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch.

You are right in that he's highly rated.

Kennedy is just coming back from injury at the moment.

I don't have access to the database but i bet if Foxy ran the query below, the answer to the question of how many pinchy posts are about Monty, then it'd be over half.

Code:
SELECT COUNT(p.PostId)

FROM Posts p
INNER JOIN Users u ON p.UserId = u.Id
WHERE u.UserName = 'Pinchy'
AND
(p.text LIKE '%Monty%' OR p.text LIKE '%Montgomery%' OR p.text LIKE '%Maestro%' )

Throw in a couple more conditions such as 'Quick-fix', 'semi-pro', 'Elpiton' (Now seemingly retired), or 'alehouse' and i reckon you'd be looking at nearly 90%

The man really is obsessed....

I think we got the message 8 million of your posts ago. You don't rate Montgomery. We know. You don't have to try and link every single thread to him.

I thought kenendy was very good when I saw him. Mind you, that's only twice. But to my inexpert eyes he looked as good as Maguire.

A natural defender, tough and aggressive. He's small for a centre back though.
