But so fucking what? I care about the war, and we're well on course to win that.

Can't wait for scunny on wednesday.

It been a disastrous weekend, top spot has well and truly gone now. A good win mid week and I'll still believe we can go up in second. We need to put away these two games in hand (plus Oldham, so dire on the opening day) or I fear it's back to play-off purgatory.

The wheels came off today, mark my words.

we should never allowed it to become a battle

Get a grip, it was 3 points when alls said and done.

It was always going to be the easiest win of the season weren't it. All we had to do was turn up surely?
Megson the ginger warnock was never going to wind the pig players up to play harder than they have in the last ten games was he?
High flying Wet sham only had to turn up to progress in the cup didn't they.
Form don't matter in derby's, it's a cup game.
Let's show scunny a backlash and move on.
We are a handfull of games away from promotion.

This always infuriates me, more so than the team underperforming. Every time we go into a Derby with even halfway decent form we get loads of "avenging boxing day" and how we're going to hammer them. apparently written by people who have absolutely no pattern recognition and probably only a passing knowledge of Football. In my entire life (not just my time supporting United) I think we've beaten Wednesday by more than one goal a mighty three times (both halves of the 1991/92 double and the 3-1 at the Lane in 2002/03). In the games I've seen we've never once battered them over 90 minutes, and we have a tendency to lose the big ones, being knocked out in both cups, not beating them in a cup in my time. The sheer arrogance of assuming we just have to turn up when we have a marginally better team baffles me, given what I've seen over the years.

I'm much more pleased we got the 3pts vs. huddersfield. Imagine if we lost to Huddersfield but beat wednesday. That table wouldnt look so rosy would it.

I can take yesterday on the chin. Still hurts but we'll get over it.

If if the team can take it on the chin, that's the rub! We've got perennial awkward bastards Scunthorpe next, win that convincingly and we'll most likely be fine. Slip up again and it could be free fall.

Although in the 3-1 win in 2003 we may not have battered them for 90 minutes, but we did completely out class them and should have won by more.

You've got a point, that's easily the most dominant I've seen us. How we managed to go in 0-0 at Half Time and indeed fall behind I'll never know. There never seemed any doubt we'd come back when Quinn scored, at least that's how I remember it now!

Apart from the result, the worst aspect of yesterday's match for me is that it was the first game in 2012 in which Wednesday

have had a clean sheet. It doesn't say much for our attacking skills.

On the other hand, we can be very pleased with our defence; in three difficult recent away games - at Charlton, Huddersfield

and Hillsborough - we have only let in one goal from open play.

Lets hope normal service is resumed tonight and the campaign gets back on track

Pressman had an absolute blinder in that first half. I thought it would be one of those days, until the ball left Michael Brown's right boot.
