It may just settle him down in the knowledge that he can remain with us and being probably one of the first names on the teamsheet week in week out and still have a successful international career. It had completely passed me by that he now plays for Blackpool. I remember him being a big prospect, at one stage.

6 years now.

Had a couple of bright loan spells in the National League in 15/16 but he was 21 when he came back and nowhere the first team. Wilder allowed him to leave and he joined Mansfield on a free less than a month later.

He might've done a bit for us had we stayed in L1 but the combination of him being a late-bloomer and the timing of our rise under Wilder meant he was never going to play for us. It took him another 3 full years before his breakout season at Mansfield, and another year before a move came out of that.

He's made a decent career for himself, especially with this call-up, considering that he's only played in 50% of Blackpool's games over the last 2 seasons.
