This is what has been suggest by EFL an EFL spokesperson in one of the Sunday Chip Shop Papers this morning all, as a potential measure that could feasibly be taken in order to prevent crowd trouble and pitch invasions..... netting off the first four rows of stands, on all four sides of the stadium. They didn't suggest whether this would be all season as a punishment, or whether it would just be at the business part of the season.

Anyway, I haven't any means of checking what this would actually mean for United in terms of lost capacity?

Firstly, how many seats would this see our capacity reduced by? Our average was around the 27,500 mark this season wasn't it?.... with the highs of the last 2 games of the season, so would it really hinder us with the same gate this year?

Answers on postcard.....

Just raise the height of advertising boards 20cm

Most people are obese so that should do the trick
Whilst I admire your ingenuinity based around modern demographics, I don't think they are allowed to do this any more due to health and safety implications eg crush risks.

Who gives a fuck?

It's the cheapskate clubs that won't pay for stewards now they want a decent crust for thier time..

The trip wire system used around Wembley is the solution

Dock points and close sections off

100% Man City fans would NOT have gone on the pitch today if they knew that they’d lose 3 points and the title for their behaviour.

Get one of those Russian Terminator tanks to roll on at full time. Though its turret might blow off if it takes a direct hit from a Pukka pie.

Or see what Edd209 is doing these days?

In all seriousness, raising the height of advertising hoardings makes sense and increases the potential advertising revenue.

It isn't....

They won't allow this in the UK again I don't think, in the wake of S6.

If its seating there's no crush concerns, either I terms of numbers or surging.

What about just a horrible alarm which triggers as soon as a single fan encroaches?

I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's the same theory as a burglar alarm to some extent

At the moment there isn't any repercussions from encroaching, but it would feel a lot more unlawful and less gratifying if you're the first one to trigger this loud as fuck, horrible alarm which ruins everyone's celebrations. It would happen once, and probably never again

See Olsen was punched a few times as they tried to get him off pitch. Madness, takes me back to the fear of going into town and to the game in the 70’s with rival gangs if fans fighting. Not a place to take my grandson

In a lot of German grounds, the first row of the stands seem to be elevated from the pitch and it looks as though there is a bit of a drop between the stand and the track around the side of the pitch.

Think that would be a bit of a deterrent but unfortunately, it would probably mean rebuilding every stand in the country.

Damn, thought this might havee been about Moose crashing a brand new range rover in europe.......

Sprinter stewards
Clone Jonah Lomu using some kind of Jurassic Park-style DNA extraction and then use the army of clones as stewards. Any twat encroaches the pitch area, they get 19st of angry rugby player chasing them and bringing them down with extreme prejudice.

Get McBurnie to try it out

The lack of police is worrying. Stewards are a waste of time and are only there to direct people. I don't blame them for not doing more. I wouldn't stand in the way of thousands of people risking injury or harm for minimy wage. But since the Sharp incident, there should surely have been more police at pitch side? Folk just take the piss out of the stewards who, as we know, won't give chase. But how many of those would try it with coppers? Far fewer.

Then again, coppers are more interested in filming the very few incidents outside.

The vast majority of high end clubs would gladly accept a pay / view system. I mean why have spectators they just get in the way

Anybody and everybody encroaching on to the pitch, to receive an immediate 12 month jail sentence. Problem pretty much solved.
