Why are we not drawing parallels with Spurs in League 1?

League cup semi in league one against Spurs.

1-0 after the first leg.

Another goal down on the night.

Still came back and but for a late equaliser we win that 2-1 and go to Extra Time. The gap in quality was much, much wider between those two teams.

This isn’t over, so let’s get out there and fucking do these.

Absolutely correct.
However we were at home that 2nd leg too.

It's completely possible for us to turn it around tonight, we should have the players to do so if they play the right way.
It doesn't mean it will happen or won't happen though, but it's not out of the question at all.

We need to make sure we get into the game right, great if we score early doors etc. but ideally we don't want to be conceding first or early on.
Would expect Forest to try and get into us from the off and get an early goal to settle themselves, we might have to dig in for first 20 potentially at least.

I'm not saying it will work like this but it's plausible that we might play more like Forest did on Saturday. And by that I mean try to manage the game with gamesmenship and counter well. Only thing is we can't be leaving ourselves exposed again like we did on Saturday.

I think people are letting the difference in the performances of the two teams on Saturday cloud the fact that there's only one goal in it.
Of course we can overturn the deficit - it's Forest, not Liverpool. If we play to our potential, we can beat them.

That was probably the last time I saw you wasn’t it?

I suppose the reason people don’t want to draw comparisons is because not only did we lose the first leg, we then only drew the home leg to send us out 😂

Forest, without doubt schooled us on Saturday and they looked a much better side. They were dominant for most of the game. However, they fucked up at the end and gave us a goal.

It’s that lack of concentration which shows that we have a chance.

They’re not Liverpool, but they’re a very hard side to beat as I’ve said on other posts. That first half on saturday could come back to haunt them. They had chance after chance and they should’ve been 4-5-6 up at half time. Not sure what the xG was for those chances but they were chances that you’d expect most top 6 sides in this league to take.

We have to be tight at the back tonight and whilst I have faith in our back 3 we need our 2 wingbacks to be on it as well as the midfield two of Fleck/ Hourihane and Norwood to give the protection when they come forward.

We also have to be more creative. We will get chances up top and if we can get one goal we can make things very twitchy for them.

I don’t think that Forest will be aiming to sit back either, it doesn’t seem in their nature. They want goals. Does that mean they’ll leave space at the back for the counter? I think yes. They’ve got a lapse in concentration in them or a mistake. We’ve also got moments of brilliance in us.

Seen you at Brentford and West Brom away in the promotion season since then! Fine form you were on too.

Well we did it. You know the won 9 on the spin, wait until we get you at ours home record.

In tatters.

Then we lost to the equivalent of a coin toss.
