I haven't really got a secret, but this is more about those wonderful posters who delight in telling us a little bit of what they know but won't give up all the information. This is in "General Blades Chat" because it seems to be in this section where most of the posts go.

There have been lots of these lately. Those who claim to be "In The Know" but won't reveal what they know.

Those who claim to know who will be signing, why a player left, how much a player earns, what bonus a player is on, and other "useful" information, but can't tell the rest of us. Because it's a secret. Only for the special people to know. The select few. The privileged ones. The Inner Set.

If you know but can't tell then what the hell is the point of posting on the internet that you know the answer but can't tell? Really, why bother?

Were you the child at school or are you the person at work that delights in letting everyone know that you know something, but once you've got people wondering what it is you immediately clam up? Because if that's you, nobody thinks you're "cool" because you're not telling us what you know. You're just telling us you're a smart-arse.

If it's a secret, and it's not for revealing in public, then shut up. Don't tell anything. Not a snippet. Please. I know that if you don't let people know that you've got a secret then you might well explode with the pent-up excitement, but I'm happy to live with that.

I said something along the lines that Woody's no B appearance wasn't the reason someone said it was. As for the real reason - not something I'd care to discuss on here as the participants are still on this earth....

1. You know confidential information, in which case you should keep it confidential and not even hint what you know; or
2. You know information that isn't confidential, in which case you should post it.

This "I know something but I can't tell you what it is" is just childish and annoying.

Ghandi wasn't even been secretive, he simply said that Ertl wasn't on a six figure salary. I roughly know how much a few of my blades mates earn, but i'm not going to post it on here.

I should bloody well hope Ertl isn't on a 6 figure salary - or anyone else for that matter. Last I looked a 6 figure salary (I assume we are talking weekly here) would be £100,000+.

On the other hand, if Ertl isn't even on a 6 figure salary annually, he will be earning less than £2000 a week, which is fine with me

This comes from a poster that regularly attempts amateur psychology and calls me an 'attention seeker' (exactly what he is doing here).

This kind of thread would be better off on the North Korean Blades forum. The one were opinions are not allowed. Personally it doesn't bother me that people post stuff about United in the General Blades section. I just don't read it if I think they are talking rubbish. I wasn't aware there was something in the forum rules stating that people who were in ITK had to state what they know or say nowt at all. Why are you so angry SV? First it was typing with an accent, then my shed thread and now sumert else. Complaining like a little girl when someone does something that they don't like. I know you're on of the admins favourites, but throwing your toys out of the pram when someone breaks your silent rules is a little pathetic. Maybe our resident psychologist is actually an attention seeker himself

It always gets me that when someone suggests some posts are pointless it is then argued that they are displaying totalitarian tendencies. SV is not threatenintg to rip people's fingernails out if they continue to make these posts. He is memerly saying they are annoying and pointless. I happen to agree.

Certain members of the forum don't think others can express opinions, post in a particular way, talk about a certain subject, claim they are in the know etc. They don't seem to understand that a forum is a place for debate, where people express different opinions, spout bollocks, debate, claim things that might not be true amongst other things. Hence I decided to suggest that some of these members form the North Korean forum. Basically opinions are not valid, dissent is crushed and the club can do absolutely no wrong. Dare to make a peep suggesting otherwise and you get your fingers chopped off. It could easily be called the Saudi Arabia Blades forum, Chinese SUFC forum forum or sumert else. But personally I like the North Korean reference. The main thing is that keyboard warriors do not exist, people do not question Stephen Quinn's ability, nobody claims to be ITK that is not and generalkly you do not disagree with the forum 'elite'.

I try to refrain from posting about things I have heard from those connected to the club (although I probably have once or twice), generally because if they turn out to be complete bollocks then you look like a nob. Those who regularly claim to be ITK and post about things they have heard from 'credible sources', I tend to take with a pinch of salt but read them for the amusement factor regardless.

What does annoy me (like SV) is when people post about things which are clearly intended for others to beg for more info. That said it is a forum and just because I (or SV) doesn't like it doesn't mean that is is wrong.

Not completely, it's not. Ghandi said he knew how much Ertl earned but couldn't tell. I assumed Ertl was on a decent wage because he's a Johnny Foreigner and also a professional footballer of some experience, and he came from another club that's hardly known for it's financial prudence and we'd possibly have offered a sinmilar wage. If he's on £2000 a week then that's only £100K+ a year, the poor lamb. How does he manage? Shall we have a whip-round? I assumed he was on good money, Ghandi said he knew how much, but couldn't tell. Why not? Let's have some proof. I admit my guess has no proof, but I didn't state that I KNEW how much he was on. If I had proof I'd let you know. Ghandi has proof but won't tell. Put up or shut up.

I think it's relevant to this section, in that it discusses Blades fans who don't part with all the information at their disposal, but are content to tease us with snippets about Sheffield United generally.
