Bert was reading in The Athletic that United's season long win bonuses only get paid if we finish at least 6th.

Apart from the chance of promotion that's a big incentive tomorrow.

I wish all Blades fans well. Good luck an' all that. Do your thing. But, I just could not live my football life like that. Worried. Nervous. Expecting the worst. Thinking it's only going to go one way. I guess I'm sheltered. I don't know any Blades in real life who think like that. I suppose it's just different sides of the same coin. But, I just wouldn't get any enjoyment watching a game with those thoughts hanging over me.

That's because you use booze

Reading some of these posts you can't help thinking that the Donkey in Christopher Robbin is a Blade , can you........

We’re in the driving seat and we’re about to do what Sheffield United do best and not just finish 7th but finish 8th behind Millwall, top that off with pigs winning 5-0 at Sunderland with some freakish injuries and 3 sendings off for the Mackems I can see this being a depressing few days….
Someone fill me with some sort of positivity because Roy’s views from Fulham certainly didn’t fill me with confidence!
You need to change your name if you're peddling the 'we are so unlucky' shit
Poor us eh 😩

It may be the first beer steadying a trembling hand, but I'm quietly confident (a nervous wreck).

The worst that can happen is that we will be in the Championship next season and you know what? I really don't mind. Another season chasing the dream is much better than struggling week in week out battling amongst the dead men..
The only downside would be Tufty nicking our place.

It's a strange one for me. I will of course be disappointed if we don't make it, but another part of me wouldn't be too upset if we didn't. derfblade.3 sums it up absolutely perfectly in his post above mine.

The Premier League is fun when you go into it like we did with no expectation, and surprise everyone with an unfancied team, the core of which was part of the rise out of League 1, a group who at that time had an unbelievable spirit. A manager who was one of us and led the charge. An inventive, exciting, attacking style, and a completely united club of fans. That first PL season was unique and special, and I'm just grateful that we got an opportunity to see most of it before the lockdowns came.

But on the whole, the prospect of the Premier League is not as exciting to me after what we did a couple of years ago. Of course I want us to get there and mix it with the best. The likes of Salah and De Bruyne are a joy to watch as a neutral, but there are also so many things not to like about the PL. The runaway top 2 City and Liverpool who are in their own super league. The media and their darling clubs who are always considered "too big to go down" like West Ham, Leeds, Villa, Everton. The officiating which is as bad as it is in the EFL - just look at how poor the officials were the other night for Bournemouth v Forest. The theatrics, simulation and embarrassing behaviour of many of the players. The gravy train that everyone tries to follow, paying ridiculous transfer fees /wages for players just to try and finish near the top 10. There are many occasions where I would rather watch a Championship game than a PL game.

From the perspective of this season - whatever happens tomorrow, when we consider where we were when Heckingbottom took charge, he's done a great job to take us into the last game of the season with a chance of getting in the play-offs. Chuck in the injury list, the fact we don't have any experienced strikers available, a limited bench in terms of attacking options, a team that's missing its top goalscorer and its captain. He didn't get the backing to strengthen our squad in January when other clubs like Forest and Bournemouth did. Heckingbottom has done a good, solid job under all of these circumstances. If we don't manage to do it, we'll be disappointed for a little while, but we will be back and we will go again next season. Up the Blades!

I’ve just had a £10 treble on it all going tits up with us losing and Luton and Boro winning. I never win bets so I hope it’s a tenner well spent!

Snap

I hate uncertainty. Let's be honest, whether we got up or not there are plusses and minuses. I'd rather not suffer another unlikely disaster though. I've seen enough of those.

I really hope we win tomorrow and go on to win at Wembley. But if it all goes belly up, think positive, 2 play off tickets, Wembley ticket and outing, you will be looking at the best part of £500. Just look on the bright side, you’ll be able to have the heating on for 2 days come November for £500.
Good Luck, and Up The Blades.

Gave up on the playoffs after we lost to Reading and haven’t changed my mind.

Everything since has been a bonus.

Can't understand people getting nervous ,it's football ,a sport, win lose or draw .if we are good enough we will be alright if not roll on next season .utb we can do magic
I'm really nervous. Have been all week and it's peaking now.

Something you really want/excited about. People see it/feel it differently though.

I'm like that before Derbies. I fucking loathe them.

Beat them at Craven Cottage 1-0 without them getting a shot on target. In the current form table for the last 6 games we are 6th, they are 16th. Hope this helps.

Early on in the season during the Slav disaster period, I genuinely feared relegation. Now we have given ourselves a chance of going up. An amazing turnaround. So we really shouldn't fear this.

Its a free hit, with some big unknowns that make it exciting not worrying.

Will Fulham played the relaxed football of champions and take us apart as we push hard for goals, or will they play a weakened side that is already dreaming of sand and sangria and doesn't fancy mixing it in front of a hostile full house?

Will Jeckyl or Hyde United turn up? We have been bloody awful at times this season, but we have also been brilliant in spells. If we play to our best, I've no doubt we can beat them - we've already done it once this season.

To paraphrase Hecky, we love football for moments like this. He was talking about the players, but it applies to us too. As long as the players and the crowd give it their best, I'll be happy with the end to this season.
