They could actually drop into the play offs by the end of the season if they don't start picking up points soon. They'll be desparate for at least a draw on Saturday, but if we play like we did last night we have a decent chance. Sadly if Bournemouth do implode it will most likely be Forest who take 2nd place, not us.

Still, given their games in hand you'd expect Bournemouth to pick up enough points to secure automatic promotion.

Eh?

Bournemouth aren't showing any signs of imploding.

They're one of the most in form teams in the division.
If you look at their past four games they've taken four points from a possible twelve (barring an unlikely comeback tonight)

Injuries and yellow cards from this evening means that half their first team will be unavailable on Saturday !!!
Who is missing due to yellows and injuries?

A bigger advantage is having 24 hours longer and no travel involved. I wonder if they are heading back to the south coast in-between? Little things like that can take a toll

It's 7 from possible 12 including tonight. 10 from 15

Last four games - win against Bristol City, draw with Posh and lost to Preston and West Brom. Not the easiest of run-ins either
This is their last 4 results. That was their first loss in 6 tonight

If you look at their bench tonight you can see their strength in depth. It’s going to be tough so we need to be on top form.

I think they’re shite. If we beat them we can catch them IMO. I think they’ll drop off.

Very tough next 5 games there, plus forest, Blackburn away and Millwall on the last day to finish it off. I reckon they could get like 6 or 7 points from their remaining games. Just not sure if that’ll put them out of reach.

Millwall on the last day... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The celebrations will be lovely if they went up that day..

I had a look on both Bournemouth's and Middlesbrough's fans forum last night.
Bournemouth still seem fairly confident no mention of injuries, seem to put it down too a bad day at the office. A few were worried that they didn’t have a shot on target despite their good build up play and that WBA are a poor side.

Middlesbrough fans are surprisingly confident apparently deserved at least a draw last night, they were the best side in the second half. Fulham were poor but they switched off for the goal. They honestly think even if they don't go up this season they are just a couple of players away from pissing the league next season. They also did have a couple of key players missing last night who should be back at the weekend. Wilder seems confident and the players just need too believe in themselves. Fulham manager also said it was their toughest game of the season last night.

Didn't bother looking at Notts Forest's because they are just as delusional as the S6 mob. So I'm pretty sure they will be catching Fulham.

Okay the midget-stadiumed stick-of-rock twats may have been doing better than I thought lately but they are still not assured of 2nd place. I won't shed any tears for em if they drop into the play-offs on the last day.

Forest will not catch Fulham but they might catch Bournemouth.
If not they will probably be third and play us in the play off semis.

This could feasibly happen:

United v Bournemouth - utd win
United v reading - Utd win
United v Bristol - Utd win
United v Cardiff - Utd win

The bmouth game is proper touch and go but we’re at home, the rest of you take them at face value we would be huge favourites. I accept that winning 5 on the bounce isn’t easy though.

That would mean utd would be on:

44 GAMES 76 POINTS

Meanwhile, Bournemouth could feasibly go on this run:

Utd LOSE
boro LOSE
Coventry DRAW
Fulham LOSE
Swansea WIN
Blackburn DRAW

That’s not beyond the realm of possibility. That would put them on:

44 GAMES 77 POINTS.

One point ahead of us with two games each to play. I doubt anyone on here will be saying it’s gone then if that unfolds like that. I’m not saying it’s nailed on or anything but people on here act like nothing surprising ever happens in football.
