Dismantling ground, for apartments, moving to a new stadium share in Attercliffe with the pigs 😤

Think they were blacking out the windows when I drove past - they were then moving on to do same with the exec boxes . They had considered turning all the stands round to face the other way but that was to expensive , so it’s window blackouts and blindfolds for the rest of us

Is this even used anymore? Most of it is just empty offices. The situation with the Enterprise centre and the hotel sums up the ownership at the moment. Moribund.

Both of these are effectively boarded up buildings that are not used. They may aswell pull them down for me and create some additional parking places or maybe convert into a fan zone for match days with portable bars. At the moment they will be costing us more money to maintain (even if not used) than if they were not there.

The hotel was supposed to be re-opened but I am guessing that is not going to happen now?

I’m sure Bettis said the club were going to be using some of the office space. Not sure if there are any other tenants left. It was a poor idea by McCabe to build it there. Should have just had seating like the opposite Bramall Lane corner.

Hotel seems to have stalled due to the club not getting it ready for Hilton to fit out. Worrying as Hilton’s original press release said a Autumn 2021 opening, so they must be getting pissed off.

It’d be good to get an update from the club about these things (including training ground). Fans appreciate the landscape has changed due to covid and continues to be volatile, but not communicating updates to previously announced timelines which have now passed is poor form.

I’d love to see the enterprise centre pulled down and seating put there.

The hotel needs to be re-opened, it looks an eyesore at the moment. The delay is at our end, can’t understand what the problem is.

What do they need to spend money on. Would we be responsible for fitting it out or would that be the Hilton?

If it is us, relatively speaking fitting out the hotel I wouldn’t have thought would be beyond even our stretched finances.

Especially when we presumably will make money on it running as a business rather than sat empty as it is now.

Peeping Tom. They were filming a porno and that dirty bastard was copping an eye full.

Copthorne ran the place and charged a fee. The hotel lost money year in year out.. Every chance again so that would need funding as well as a refurb.

Is that a fact it lost money year in year out?

Genuine question because the hotel car park always appeared full and I find it hard to understand how it could have struggled given its four? star and the general shortage of hotel rooms in Sheffield then and possibly now.

They must have made a fortune on the pricing of drinks on matchday alone 😉

The McCabe’s own the enterprise centre. Last I’d heard, which was a couple of years ago, was that it was empty apart from that but that the police use on a match day. Dunno why.

It’s always bugged me that little pieces of football club land kept getting sliced off and held privately tho.

Yes. The 2019 accounts - the last full year of trading - the business lost £1.5m. Accumulated losses at that year end were £10.5m.

Latterly, you could walk in most Saturday nights and get a room for £60. It had become a bit of a shag pad for random pick ups. No surprise Kev wanted shut and HRH didn’t want it.

I thought the Prince got the enterprise centre as part of the deal. The only pieces he didn’t get were the two corners on Shoreham Street which McCabe somehow sneakily kept hold of to use as leverage.
