"As a blade"

All I'm saying is he's got tons more experience than the likes of Gordon and Lopata etc. He's not a kid as some are suggesting.

Hes had a full season in Conference. 1 in League 2 and this is now his 2nd in Championship.
I was trying to point out that he had limited experience before that with a professional club's academy. He didn't play much for ours before he was loaned out.

Very good player, especially defensively. Dubious penalty aside pocketed three of the best players in the league recently in Spence, Bowler and Jones. Got a great review from Wilder too after the Jones job.
He also gives us something that this team desperately lacks: aggression and a front footedness. You take RND and Fleck out and there isn't any. He set the tone second half.

That said, he could use an extra half yard of pace. He needs to work on his work in the final third too.He stops the ball dead too much, instead if moving it and interchanging.

As others have said, very similar to Baldock. Hard to knock either of them too much as they're both good professionals, work hard, competive, athletic and stick to their defensive duties.

Unfortunately that's not all that's required of a wing back. We work plays which often mean the wing back is the spare man and we rely on some attacking output from them out wide. Neither of them deliver on this consistently (if ever).

We need them to be composed, beat the first man with their cross, get the ball out of their feet and hit the target when it drops to them. They both tend to panic and snatch at chances and not lift their head when crossing. It's really frustrating. We miss Bogle and could do with a left footed equivalent next season.

22 is not a kid. He's a full international and this is his 4th full season as a professional footballer.

He played 36 Championship matches last season
22 is still at the start of his career. He's going to notch about 30 games for a team chasing a play off spot and is clearly improving. Comparing him to the two full backs in our last promotion winning team they were both playing in league 2 around the same age

Main thing he needs to do is play the occasional first time cross or run with it when he gets the ball on the counter, he always stops, controls it and turns back to either play behind him or use his right foot, either way it lets the opposition get back every time. Mix it up a bit in attack and he's fine defensively

Good tackler can’t beat a man to save his life. He’s definitely back up only. Current team is lacking all over in quality but baring in mind we have a full team injured they are doing us proud to be fair. But realistically can you see us beating the Forest team that have just matched Liverpool for 90 mins over 2 legs?

He absolutely did not pocket Bowler (by far the most dangerous player on the pitch) and got completely sucked in by Jed Spence for the penalty.

Fair enough on completely neutralising Isiah Jones but let’s not pretend RND is anything other than very mediocre. Never seen any remotely impressive attacking play from him that we’ve seen from the likes Stevens, Osborn, Bogle, Kieran Freeman and Baldock in the past.

He gives everything, which is always important, but let’s not pretend he doesn’t consistently oscillate between 5 and 6 out of ten in terms of his actual contribution on the pitch.

Liverpool didn’t have Mane and Salah, that’s not Liverpool.

Get Basham, Baldock and Fleck back in that team and they can absolutely beat forest over two legs.

Wes
Bash. Egan. JLT.
Baldock. Norwood Fleck Stevens/Osborn
Berge. Sharp. MGW

I’d be more confident and excited about this team going into the play offs this year than any play off campaign of the past.

Non of those players had a notable impact on the game, which they generally do week in, week out - aside from the penalty. Spence and Bowler's influence was negligible at best when ordinarily they are running games at this level, and decisive players for their teams. My Blackpool mate said: "when Bowler plays well, we play well. He was crap tonight". They still look good players in general because they are, but they didn't influence it much. All these teams had a lot of the ball as the matches were fairly balanced, so these players can have no complaints that it was because their teams were dominated possession wise. Spence actually had a shit ton of free gifts as we kept giving them the ball in our half - with our whole team out of position. A defending wing backs worst nightmare; especially one that plays as high as RND. Bowler had one shot that hit the bar from the number ten position (about 20-25 yards out), a dinked cross to the back post, and a drive across goal when he did get in down RND's side. Spence put a couple of crosses in and got a dubious penalty. Spence and Johnson gave their Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd and Liverpool counterparts more trouble than they gave RND - if that's any barometer. If you can provide some highlight reels of all their telling involvements where they were tearing him a new one I'll stand corrected.
If RND has the same neutralising effect on them in the play offs I'll be delighted - we'd be well on our way to victory.

He regularly neutralises his flank, but doesn't offer enough going forward. If he doesn't improve the latter he'll have a ceiling. That's my take away.

Stevens has been awful for the past 2 years. No reason to let him back in.
There is. New manager, new belief, new beginnings. He was poor last season along with every other fucker. He was poor under Slav along with every other fucker. If he’s poor again then fine but he’s worth another go as a fully-firing Enda offers way more than RND.

RND is doing alright. Never be a world beater, but a much better bet than the current Stevens. Solid, and gets up and down the wing. Not good enough for the Prem if we ever get back there, but 'cos of how he's performing at the moment, LWB is now the least of our worries.

Enda doesnt have a future at utd, RND does

I would say in order of our left backs id go with

Stevens--Osborne--RND

I don't mind RND he is solid and does the basics ok but he hasn't shown much to say he's gonna be a top Champ left back

He is steady and does a job but I would rather play Osborn and Stevens if they were both fit and Lowe if he was back

As RodCurrie would say over on BladesMad, "It's all abaht opinions".

For me, Rhys is growing in stature and composure with every game he plays. He plays with signs of a maturity above his years (in terms of how many men's league games he's actually played). He's aggressive, gets forward, tracks his man defensively, leaves one on his winger often, and is already rather shrewd in the dark arts, and looks like he's been taking lessons in that from Billy.

For me, he's first choice LWB now - give him time to grow in the role.

Enda has been off form for so long and is only just returning and so is squad depth at best currently (albeit welcome to have another back). Osborn is cover. Recall Lowe in the summer, see what he can do and if he can rival Rhys, or if not, auction him off.

Not relevant. We just have to beat whoever we face in the final 😎😂

Another below par performance today. I try and look for merit in all opinions, especially those that conflict with my own, but I do not see any evidence that suggests he's improving and will become a good player.

He has zero confidence in beating the full back, seems scared almost to try....on the 3 or 4 occasions he was played in BEHIND the full back yesterday he was still tackled....should have had a pen though.

Enda gets the shirt on Tuesday for me.

Nearly every time he gets a chance to put a cross in. He can't beat the first man.. think he got one cross in yesterday pull back to jebbison.. the rest, and all season very frustrating to watch ..

After yesterday I'd put Stevens and Osborn in place him both him and baldock

Every time we made a half decent move, it broke down when passed to him. He is not good enough going forward. Every 10 attacks he might put one or possibly two decent crosses in. His work rate cannot be faulted, but I think he's league one standard.

Disagree with that hes definatl’y improving he got a good few balls in the box yesterday loads of energy good tackler can’t expect a world beater at this stage of his development
Run around or Enda no thanks

I can't fault his energy and especially effort- in a quite Bash-like way he got us going against Barnsley when fuck all else was happening.

I'm a bit puzzled though by a few folk saying he's poor going forward but good defensively. He's not great going forward but at least he's game and gets in good positions.

Defensively he worries the shit out of me!!! His positioning is poor- and (maybe because he's having to recover) he doesn't half dive in. I know the Forest pen was argued about but he could've given away plenty of others this season, he's naiive and clumsy (though I can't fault him for effort and getting stuck in).

I'm sure he'll improve, but for me get Osborn in there- for some reason pretty much all his poor games for the club have been at left wing back despite doing well pretty much everywhere else, but give him a decent run.
