Is it worth keeping sharp fresh for the home games and keeping him on the bench to bring on in away games ?

After watching the games recently I don’t think it’s worth playing bill in away games we clearly lack any threat on the counter and struggle with a focal point up front which leads us to get dominated when we shouldn’t as we can’t keep the ball 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Aswell as this his goal scoring record away is much worse than at home he has 3 goals in 20 apps away from home this season (from open play) opposed to 8 in 17 at home

I would either play Mcburnie who is much more of a target man and can hold up the ball or Jebbison who is more athletic

*Puts tin hat on *

Mcburnie isn’t more of a target man, Sharp is 10 ten times better at making the ball stick in the final third.

In fact, instead of (lazily and sometimes if I wonder deliberately) giving away free kicks to make it look like he’s done something and winning headers that go to fucking no one, please tell me ANYTHING that Mcburnie does outside the box as good as Sharp.

We’re not even comparing him based on his goal scoring and still left in disbelief as to how £20m of our once in generation premier league money went on this useless fucking goon.

Nonsense I’ve watched Mcburnie get the better Of spurs/Liverpool/Chelsea/Man U defences

I thought we’d been trying to play McBurnie as a target man? And he’s looked fucking wank.

The majority of goals he’s scored for us and those he’s scored for other teams have come from in and around the penalty area, more of a poacher than a target man. The goals he scored against us for Barnsley and Swansea both came from within the 6 yard box.

Liverpool? So that’s just a lie then. He scored against Man Utd, did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary otherwise.

The only decent target man performance was against Man City and he did well in his goal against Brighton, pretty much the only times I remembered him performing well as a genuine target man, so fuck all basically, Sharp has made the ball stick for us in countless matches.

That's a sensible post Billy wants to play every game !
Horses for courses and saving Billy for home games is a good idea !Billy probably wouldn't like the idea .
He's as fit as a fiddle but is pushing the boat out playing in every game,I think losing him would finish our play off chances.
It's up to Hecki really.

Winner…..of the most stupid post of the year.

He's been here 2.5 years and has never been anything other than the above.
He's probably had half a dozen good games in return for the huge outlay we've spent on him.
He's definitley Wilders worst ever signing and probably the club's.

Joint top scorer in a best season in the past 30 years mogs 👍

So whilst I agree he has been poor the past year down to a lot of things he hasn’t been useless as he shown he was a very decent premier league striker whilst with us

Go re watch the full game of when we played Liverpool away the second season he was outstanding

WIlders worst signing really? Step forward Oliver Burke

I’m not saying he is a target man but he is better than any other player we have at holding the ball up upfront

What we shouldn’t do is just pump the ball up to our strikers sharp included

Selective memory, he was our joint top scorer in our best ever season, finishing 9th in the PL

Absolute crud. He scored 6 goals and his limitations were one of the reasons why our attacking output was that of a bottom end premier league team. That 9th place finish revolves around us being a top 4/top 6 level defensive team with England call up level performances from Henderson and Jack O’Connell.

Even playing for a team that was full of confidence and motivation his stats were consistently amongst the poorest in the league.
The only thing he achieved good stats for was winning headers, the vast majority of which went to absolutely no one.

Great. But we weren't a high scoring team and he wasn't a high scoring player.
He was ineffective in the vast majority of games.

He’s a poor target man and the only thing more laughable than people saying he can hold it up are the claims that he’s a number 10.

Like I’ve said, never mind comparing him as a 10 to a wonderful footballer like Diddzy, tell me ANYTHING he does with the ball outside the box that Sharp can’t do. Even in McBs (very) occasional good games, let’s just say he’s not exactly Dennis Bergkamp.

Let’s not forget Mcburnies worst games by his own standards where he genuinely looks like a scrawny chav with the most pitiful excuse for ball control. In his bad games he honestly looks like he can’t play football and exhibits a pathetic level of body strength

Sharp basically pulling a rabbit out of the hat in the build up to the Bashams arriving goal, THAT is an example of good target play.

More chance of seeing the queens tits than seeing Mcburnie make a goal like that happen
