Anyone see the incident where Billy was booked

I think the idea of kicking towards the Kop in the second half is that if we're chasing the game it gives the team extra umph if they need it, it also adds extra pressure on the oppo defence. I missed the first ten minutes yesterday but wasn't there a collective grown around the ground when the teams swapped ends at the start?

If I was the opposition manager I'd do it every time.

I am a bit concerned with Billy's posturing lately- not taking anything away from his contribution which is immense, but doesn't need to shout at crowd rather belligerently after scoring or get involved with " handbag " incidents like last night.
I've been enjoying Billy doing just that in the last few weeks, a team has to have a bit of devilment about them sometimes, I'd say crack on with it Billy.

I remember when Clough then Adkins were in charge, the squad of players then, especially under the former, were far too nice, we were crying out for one or two players that could ruffle opposition feathers.

Only saw it on the red button which doesn't have replays, but it looked like Billy did his usual "Oops, I've accidentally tangled with a player" after a challenge routine, and their player bit. Bookings seemed fair.

Billy’s knee “rested”on the blokes chin for a few seconds as well.

If I was an opposition fan I’d think Billy was a right annoying tw*t. Thankfully he’s our annoying tw*t and I love him!
Said the same many times, had a few fans of other teams say it too. They hate him but they wish they had a player like him.

Did anyone see the incident that led up to billy being booked, from the kop it looked as if Billy was goading the boro player and the boro player appeared to assault Billy, not seen any videos of the incident
He would not have done that if Gary Madine was on the pitch playing for Boro. Little man syndrome !!!

Billy is an absolute expert at the ‘dark arts’ he niggles and winds the opposition up from the first minute to the last.

The incident with Peltier was a typical example, he clattered him then as Peltier got to his feet, squared up and leaned into him, Billy fell back and pulled him on top off him, quickly outstretching his arms to suggest Peltier was the aggressor.

I’m sure Wilders close proximity, only served as encouragement. Billy knew Wilder wouldn't get involved cos he’d got his new patent leather shoes on 😉

It only ever seems to happen when there's an ex-Blade as captain / manager for the opposition. Statistically, we definitely score a lot more goals at the Kop end than the Bramall Lane end, but (i) that's probably just because there are more goals in the second half on average for all teams/games, and (ii) I don't really see why doing it in the first or second half really makes any difference (if anything, it's nice to get a couple of early goals).
In the early 1970s we attacked the Kop in the 1st half a lot more than attacking the Lane End in the 1st half and we had a lot of success with this

With VAR it's possible they both would have been sent off. Billy kind of gave him a forearm smash. Decent reffing for a change, to give them both yellows.

In real time looked like Peltier headbutted him, so I'm surprised it wasn't a red card, but credit to Billy for not faking or wimping out.

Not actually sure MGW did anything except look aggressive.

Got a video of it? Wilder was in pain as he didn’t know where to put himself. Piles in he knows a section of the crowd turn on him.

Can see it all clearly on Behind the Blades (vid should start at right place but skip to about 10:40 if not):

Think it probably looks worse than it is simply because of the way Peltier gets up while they're tangled together, but wouldn't have been shocked to see him get sent off seeing that.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of refs would have given them straight reds and off.
Thought he was half decent that ref.

Alan Knill the coolest cucumber in the house. Swig of water, and I bet he had his grin there as well.

My favourite bit of Wilder's 'inside knowledge' was getting the teams to change ends before kick-off when they won the toss. He obviously thought it would disrupt us. Ooops.

Lol... proper shithouse move by Wilder that, glad it backfired....mug.

I think it was against Cardiff when Madine was made captain for them, he knew we always like to kick towards the Kop second half so chose to kick towards the Bramall Lane end first half.

That was probably Warnock's decision.

What was the last game where we kicked towards the kop in the first half btw? We were trying to think last night, but couldn’t remember any this season.

It is quite rare, I always assumed away teams also like to play towards their own fans second half as well? Made sod all difference anyway 🤣

Wednesday did it in the derby game in League 1. Backfired of course, we were 2 up at half time. Our captain at the away game then did the same.

I assume its an unwritten agreement that swaps aren't done, otherwise teams would surely do it more? I'm sure teams wish they weren't having to defend the Kop late on in a game.
