Wilson Out

thought both full backs were guilty of being inadequate for purpose
they made div 2 players who struggled against Cheltenhams defence last saturday look like robin van persie and nani

Bad as we were when we were relegated not seen such poor full back displays since the late seventies as last night

The fact that the manager has guided this club to 5th by this stage is a minor miracle.

Never have I seen a side so devoid of attacking flair this high up a league table!

Wilson out?! Give me a break!

Agreed. It seems many have forgetten just what a crock of shite he inherrited. Frustrating though it is, we've got to give someone time.

UTB

Wilson needs more time. We hit the ground running and all got carried away. When the inevitable happened and we started dropping points we all get on the managers back again. What if we had started shite and then built a run, accumilating the same amount of points? We would be a lot happier.
For all our sakes let this patch of form be a blip and we can get up and running again as per the start of the season very soon.

Wilson is reported to be spitting blood at last nights ineptitude

so he should

Hes working hard, but the change is slow and painful, but really did we expect anything else
I thought there would be some disappointment on the road back
I come prepared, some dont it seems

United's plight is down to a simple sequence of events, not hard to sum it up.

From a good position, bad decisions have been made at the top.

poor appointment > over spending > sale of good players > recruitment of poor players >
poor results > panic > more poor appointments > more poor results > panic (and so it goes on)

The downward spiral hasnt reached the bottom yet, but dont worry we're almost there.

It aint down to just one thing and its certainly not down to the manager!

I detect unrest amongst the We  Hoof Brigade.

This club will not move on until we remove the wretched non-footballers who are right at the heart of our decline yet are risibly described as our 'best players'.

DW knows this. He doesn't have a magic wand. He needs time not juvenile remarks about ancient history - but then, thats when your favourite brand of football was played, wasn't it?

Upanatem.

More pigeon holed, clueless nonsense. The criticism of Wilson is unfair. Our footballers aren't good enough. It's got nothing to do with anyone's love of hoof, just their frustration at the plight of SUFC. But it serves you to blame the likes of Monty, not present in last night’s debacle - because it deflects from your man's signing - the " blowing in the wind" McDonald - who once again did nothing.

Your assertion that "hoof" (I appreciate you can only compute football in digital format) is always non productive is still looking rather daft, with Wendy and Huddersfield sitting above us, and Stevenage playing us off the park on Saturday.

The club will ony move forward when people are truly objective about what’s in front of them. Your attitude is part of the problem.

UTB

Parrino is 19yrs and 2 months old. How young do you want the players to be?

(I see that Parrino is listed as a 'Defender' in the SUFC Player Profiles. I think the Club is guilty under the Trades Descriptions Act.)

Wikipedia says he's 23. What is correct? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elian_Parrino

I couldn't help thinking yesterday that there must be loads of right backs in UK that are ok at this level, yet we have gone across the globe to find one that's not up to it. Must admit though that I thought he was decent when marking Ashley Young last season, and based on that I wanted him to be tried last night. A general advice to the club must be to not sign more slow players for positions where pace is vital.

You are forgetting what KM was up to when we acquired Parrino Bergs.

Wilson out? you are having a laugh.. Until he has rid the club of all the shite and high earners then we can not expect anything from him.
Who to get rid of?
easier to say who to keep. Which I really am struggling to think of which of our first team I would keep

Stevenage are not merchants of hoof. They are a well organised, fit and talented team. They might be big, strong/physical and aggressive but they can play. The way they pressed high up the pitch was like a 3rd division Barca. Their tempo was excellent, they looked comfortable on the ball, movement was good, full backs attack and they controlled the game (more than 60% possession first half and then sta back and looked comfy). Huddersfield might also be a big strong (even dirty) team, but they can play. They have a decent midfield and even though their strikers are big target men, they can play football. Wednesday are the new Wimbeldon (horrible), so I'll give you that.

The simple 'FACT' is Muttley that if Wilson was not a pig then we would not be where we are. Simmo making mistakes, being forced to use 17 yeard old keeper, his defence offering as much protection as a snapped johnny, the high earners being a mixture of not interested, apathetic, untalented, too old and shit, individual mistakes and bad refeering are all the fault of the Piggy Dingle. Did you know he did not apply for the job? He was having his Wednesday tattoo recoloured, when McCabe called him ('FACT'). There is no other option but to sack the pig. Micky Adams is doing ok at Vale, but Blackwell is looking for a job. Maybe we should bring him back. He could play in net if SS makes another boo boo.

Actually I agree. But in Pinchy's World you play hoof or you dont. Given that, they only fit the hoof mould.

You really do spout some crap Ollie.

McDonald was excellent, both against Exeter and again last night. He passed the ball accurately, long and short. It's not his fault that he has to play with the sort of ragamuffin, shadow-chasing, anti-footballer that you admire so much.

The Maestro 'played' against Orient, Exeter and Stevenage, did he not?

Bring back Quickfix Micky, Dinosaur Dave and The Best Attacking Coach in the World!

Upanatem!

We  Hoof!

Sorry Pinchy but Mcdonald certainly was not excellent last night. He misplaced passed and does not run.

Amazing. People are giving very objective views on McDonald's OBVIOUS strengths and weaknesses, and you seem to think it means they want Alan Cork back.

McDonald was excellent

Wow , your easily pleased

He is the weak link in the side. It takes more than being able to pass a ball to be a good footballer in the modern game. Even the likes of Xavi and Iniesta work there balls off when not in possession. MacDonald doesnt even break sweat. Bad attitude, bad player

I'm far from easily pleased mate. Unlike most of you I'm not prepared to wallow in the sort of plodding but honest mediocrity that your terminally limited favourite non-footballers produce for your continuing approval.

If you're looking for 'easily pleased' turn your attention to those who delight in the unique skills of The Maestro - yours for a bargain £14,000 a week.

I rest my case.

But your case begins with mediocrity and ends in double relegation. Well worth resting it!

Why not take in what's actually being said on here. If you're concluding that people are happy with what's being served up (now or for several years) then you've lost the plot, discovered it again and lost it once more.

If you weren't so clueless, you'd have picked up on numerous frustrations of mine at our continual persistence with Monty. I've pointed out on numerous occasions that, especially in the third division, we should be concentrating on dictating play rather than breaking it up. That isn't to suggest that he doesn't or hasn't, at times, added real value. You just can't grasp the basics.

"McDonald was excellent again last night".........sigh.

16th in the last 10 games' form guide though. That's the worry I think.

Didn't see the game last night so can't comment on his performance, though I wouldn't judge him on one poor performance, the lad had a nasty injury last season and hasn't played much football since his return back here. Also didn't Parrino actually play CB for Estundaties? Maybe worth trying starting him there saturday and giving Maguire the much needed rest?

I think Wilson needs to generally go back to and look how we started this season, and review his current change from playing good attackive football to the sit back and try and defend a lead. Our drop in form seems to have come about with this change in ethos. We didn't have the pace earlier on in the season but we had better movement off the ball, this is one of the things that has seems to have almost stopped more recently and certainly hasn't helped in our approach play.

I'm being serious. This is a man who didn't even apply for the job and it's not like in had a job in the first place. He had lost his from the season before for taking Swindon into the Relegation zone (OK he resigned but would of got the sack anyway). I bet deep down he knows he ain't good enough, hence why he didn't apply for the job.

We need to get rid of Wilson now and give it to someone who can motivate players and get them playing as tema, but more importantly, to someone who has actually applied for the job. The time is ideal since we are still in the playoff zone. It better to do it now that when we are fighting for our lives to avoid relegation.

Finally, blades are 150/1 to be relegated. Get a couple of quid on now to ease the pain of relegation because that where we arfe going with Wilson on board

We have 29 points. 50 would see us safe. Are you seriously suggesting we won't get 21 points from 29 games?
